I still can't believe Dookie is over 20 years old now. What a great album. I also have that Alanis album in CD. I couldn't stop listening to it back in the 90s. I didn't even know about that acoustic version. I'm going to have to look for it. Even maybe on CD. Parachutes is actually the only Colplay album that I really enjoyed. What a great find. I actually saw them live a few years ago. They are great. Great haul! Enjoy listening!

It's crazy that Dookie is more than 20 years old, isn't it? The acoustic album is definitely worth a listen. I am sure it can be found cheap on CD. I prefer the early Coldplay stuff as well. Thanks for watching, Will :) Armien

Nice updates Armien. I really like Alanis's album also.....she had some unreal chaos in her life based on those lyrics.....acoustic must be fantastic. Agree with Coldplay. Nice petty finds, as you know, don't see these around. Cheers, Steve

so many good pick ups, I have the first two Green Day albums already (insomniac is original!) but I still need the Alanis. Dookie and Alanis' album were probably my favorite albums in 7th/8th grade. Amazing 1$ finds, they were in such good condition. I've been looking for that Robin Hood soundtrack!
@AudiophileLaws
@AudiophileLaws 9 лет назад
Hello Cindy, wooow - Insomniac as original? Amazing! Same here - I listened to Dookie and Jagged Little Pill all day long. I had some luck with the cheap finds this time but believe me - I came home with empty hands so often :D Thanks for watching - I am about to take a look at your channel. Armien

Wow, the Van Halen is a huge score. It's near impossible to find here in the US and is expensive when you run across it. The Tom Petty is a killer score as well. Some great finds.
@AudiophileLaws
@AudiophileLaws 9 лет назад
Hi Steve, I can imagine that the Van Halen is hard to find in the US. It's one another of this typical early 90s records that wasn't pressed a lot. Thanks for watching and by the way: Congrats to over 300 subs. Armien

During the 1990s I am afraid to say that I mostly bought new music on CD (not that surprising since it was difficult to get hold of new vinyl those days way before Internet). There were a lot of great music issued in the 1990s, I actually prefer the 1990s to the 1980s even if that was the decade when I grew up. Today I'm trying to get hold of my CD favourites from the decade on vinyl, but it's not always that simple. Very good video and very interesting records there.

Björn Jakobsson's Record Collection Hello Björn, I am impressed that you "prefer" the 90s over the 80s although the 80s were your time. Not much people are willing to say that. I agree with buying CDs in the 90s. I met up with VC member Chris on tuesday and we talked about that as well. Thanks for watching - have a good sunday :) Armien

Hello Martin, thanks for your comment! Good to hear that you started with vinyl as well! Unfortunately the 90s were a dark time for vinyl pressings. I also have a lot of albums from this decade only on cd but the 90s vinyl collection is growing and growing. Thanks for watching :) Greetings from Germany! Armien

Hallo, wie geht's, Armien? :) You really have some classic 90's stuff there! "Jagged Little Pill" was a HUGE success when it came out. Bryan Adam's song "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" was also a huge hit. For example it spent sixteen consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart! I have "Silence Of The Lambs" movie on DVD in my collection but I have never really thought about its soundtrack. Maybe I should watch that movie again at some point. After all it's on "my personal classics" movie list. RSD 2015 is almost here so wir sehen uns, Jarkko / MyVinylBar
@AudiophileLaws
@AudiophileLaws 9 лет назад
Hi Jarkko, mir geht es gut! Oh I can imagine that Bryan Adam's song spent so many weeks in the UK charts. I still find it a little cheesy but listening to it brought back so many memories. Mikko was the first person who talked about the Silence Of The Lambs O.S.T. a long time ago. After I watched the movie again a few months ago I recognized the soundtrack. Such a good movie indeed! Thanks you for watching my friend! Nähdään pian! Armien

Hi Armien, i checked out Keziah Jones and it sounded really good! Great funk and he seems like a great guitarplayer too! Great Tom Petty-findings! Some of the things on these albums are really good! As i like the newer Genesis i have to say that "We can't dance" is a great album. "Jesus he knows me" is a really fun and irnoc song! :) Great video! Take care!

Hi Armien I love the soundtrack to Silence of the Lambs, I think it's one of those where it's integral to the film, and as much a part of it. It's up there for me with the Vangelis score for Blade Runner. I need to track down that acoustic Jagged Little Pill, have you shown that before? As you know I like my 90's too, picked up some Belly and Catatonia recently which are both great. Keep up the good work Armien, and have a good one. Cheers Dean
@AudiophileLaws
@AudiophileLaws 9 лет назад
Hello Dean, yes, I can totally agree. Blade Runner is another fantastic example. No, it was the first time that I showed Jagged Little Pill Acoustic. But I think I already showed the normal album. Music On Vinyl did a fantastic job. It's a great reissue. Maaaan - while I was reading your comment I searched for Catatonia cause I wasn't sure about what it is. Damn..... Mulder & Scully - a few seconds played and I was in the 90s again. I totally forgot about this gem! You got it on vinyl? Sweet! Thanks for watching! Armien

AudiophileLaws Hi Armien Yes it's the promo edition, with an additional 12" disc of the Steve Lamaq sessions for Radio 1 here in the UK. I love that album, but there's so much of the 90's stuff I like, so I know where you're coming from. Have a good one. Dean

With RSD15 tomorrow in mind, pick up Hooverphonic "Blue Wonder Power Milk" if it's available in your recordstore. Great adds to the collection. I don't have many nineties stuff in my collection yet. Did you already score the first 3 dEUS-albums and Novastar's debut? Quick rsd reminder: Hooverphonic Hooverphonic Hooverphonic! :) :) :) (their first albums are the best).

Since I didn't join the RSD this year I didn't get any releases but maybe the online prices will go down in a few weeks. dEUS is still high on my list. Thanks for watching :) Armien

Hi, Armien. I also grew up in the 90s so I can't help but like a lot of 90s music, even when some of it sounds a bit chessy haha. I'm not a fan of Coldplay, but I do like some of their songs, mostly singles like Viva La Vida. Speaking of 90s, do you like bands like Oomph!, Guano Apes and Rammstein? These are some of the bands from Germany which got quite a bit of airplay in Lithuania, me and my friends grew up hearing and loving their songs.
@AudiophileLaws
@AudiophileLaws 9 лет назад
Haha yes - I can agree there definitely is some cheesy stuff. I remember that Ooomph! were very successful in the early 2000s and a lot of my friends were listening to them. I only liked the hit single (I think it was Augen Auf!). The Guano Apes and Rammstein are two of my favorites. I just listened to the "Proud Like A God" album in the car a few days ago after I saw that it is available on vinyl. I would love to see Rammstein live one day. Good to know that these german bands are known in Lithuania. Thanks for watching :) Armien
@juodaavis
@juodaavis 9 лет назад
Augen Auf! was definitely the song that made them popular. Funny enough it's one of their songs I'm least fond of these days. I've always loved their german lyrics, the writing. Made me love the sound of german language. I've read somewhere that they influenced Rammstein, while I can imagine that, have never seen proof of it in interviews or elsewhere. Nice to find a fellow fan of Guano Apes and Rammstein. Just yesterday I found out that they reissued Proud Like A God, was a nice surprise. That is one of their best albums, maybe the best one I think. Would like to get that one some day. I have seen Rammstein in concert, but it wasn't my kind of show. I had different expectations, maybe that's why. Still like their music though, no less than before. You'd think that it's easy to see them live in Germany. Why haven't you seen them yet?
@AudiophileLaws
@AudiophileLaws 9 лет назад
I am still thinking about getting the Guano Apes reissue on vinyl but I blew the budget for the month already :D I checked out Oomph's discography on discogs after I read your comment and I was quite surprised that they are active since the early 90s. I didn't know that. It can be possible that Rammstein see them as one influence. There weren't many Industrial Metal bands at that time and the scene was small. Although Rammstein is a german band they don't play that much shows here in Germany. Although I like them since the early 2000s I always into other stuff when they were around my city. Next time they will be on tour I will take the opportunity. I still hope that they will release some of their old albums on vinyl. As far as I know there are mostly unofficial bootlegs going around. Thanks again for watching and commenting :) It's always good to know that german bands have fans outside Germany.

Gotta love dookie. Shame it's not a first pressing. You can tell it is a first pressing because there is an ernie puppet from sesame street on the back lol. But green day and the label did not have permission to put it on there. So all those pressings that were still on the shelves were destroyed. But prepare to pay £68+ take care!

Great video on a bunch of great classic albums. Some really rare finds for sure! After you posted the acoustic version of Jagged Little Pill, I ordered a copy from Amazon. Hoping it's the clear limited version but I'm not sure. Did they only make 1,500 total or did they make a million with only the first 1,500 on clear? Either way, looking forward to giving it a spin. Thanks Armien.

I just hope that they will do a good reissue as well. It will be released on the Plain label. I read some negative things about it.
