With the coronavirus postponing or canceling pride month activities, it’s important to still celebrate who you are and who you love. Just because pride events are canceled, doesn’t mean you can’t show your pride and celebrate pride from home. Today on the show, we’re showing you how.

And that’s okay. There’s no pressure to come out right now. It’s a journey and there’s no deadline. But there is nothing stopping you from celebrating pride month on your own in your bedroom or in your own head. Another person commented some great ideas on how to celebrate pride on your own like reading lgbtq stories and other ideas. But seriously if you don’t feel okay telling your parents right now that’s okay.

I told my family I was straight and even had a girlfriend most of my younger days. Most parents understand that it wasn't a phase and was just your way to cover and hide it until you felt safe to tell them.

Yeah my experience is the more rainbows you wear, the more people get the hint. Also for me, wearing rainbows is a sense of power source like adding gasoline to the fire of my activism. So, when I wear rainbows, most people around me get the hint that I'm very eager to get things done so they should stay out of my way lol.

You should ALWAYS feel safe being LGBTQ. Sadly there are many in this world who won't allow any of us to feel safe all the time but that's what this show and the other organizations I work for are working so hard on 24/7...to ensure future generations have it easier than we did and ensure you and our entire community can feel completely safe someday soon.

Right now, I’m questioning my sexuality. I’m not sure what it’ll be whenever I find out, but I’ll try to accept what it is. My immediate family supports LGBT, extended fam is religious but haters gonna hate. I support LGBTQ+ with all my heart and I hope that you all have a great pride month. Well first off, I wish you the best of luck in your journey. There is no rush to figure out who you love. It takes most of our community more than a decade to figure it out fully so don't put pressure on yourself to figure it out tomorrow. I'm so glad your immediate family supports LGBTQ though because that's so helpful to you and for dealing with the rest of your extended family. @@devinsanders8596 1- don't force religion on to anyone 2- Bold of you to assume that I'm not religious and just secure in knowing that my God love me for who I am 3- I'm not Christian but i come from a family of them so I know that in the Bible it isn't against being trans, ace, or anything that I am. 4- If your going to quote the line from Leviticus it actually translates to "man shall not lie will boy" as in, don't be a pedo. This was changed as when the Bible was translated the Higher ups in the Catholic church where extremely homophobic and wanted to attack the queer communities. 5- The Pope has said that God loves anyone regardless of their sexuality and gender. Why should I repent?

I’m sorry to hear your parents are homophobic. I wish all parents were more accepting like mine are. But please hang in there and know you aren’t alone, there is a whole community who loves you and will help you. There’s no rush to tell anyone your sexuality and come out. Coming out is a journey for which there is no deadline so please don’t feel pressured to do it tomorrow. You have to make sure you are safe first, that’s the most important part. But in the meantime you can celebrate pride month on your own in your bedroom or even just in your head. Just because others around you aren’t friendly to lgbtq doesn’t mean your celebration of your sexuality should be stopped. But for your own safety maybe just do that celebration on your own this year. Anyway what’s most important is that you know that you’re not alone and you’re never going to be alone. There will always be our community here to help you, I promise.

I have the same problem. I've came out already but she doesn't accept me. I'm queer (questioning) and I feel lesbian too :D maybe one day you'll build up that courage and your parents will live you for who you are. Because theres always that ONE family member who loves you no matter what. For me, it's my grandparents. I came out to them recently and they fully support me. Btw, happy pride!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Happy Pride Month and take every moment of this support in because you'll never forget it. The best memories I have with my dad are when he hugged me right after I came out to him. I love him and we're best friends but that's my favorite moment in 28 years. So, cherish your dad's love and acceptance and never let it go.

Im thinking of coming out this weekend to my parents, I've asked my mom what she thought about lgbtq+ people and she is very supportive, I don't know about my dad but i think he's supportive of lgbtq+ people! If you don't feel safe coming out to your dad and his girlfriend come out to friends and your cousin if you feel safe. I havent been in your situation but when I came out to my friends it was so just nice you'll know the feeling if you come out

Usually I have a Pride party in my backyard with about 40 women but this year I'm breaking it up into parties of 10 people each so we can social distance and minimize transmission. We usually fire up the grill and have a potluck but this year everyone is bringing their own food and drinks. Usually we have an art activity and dance but this time we are watching a film using a projector and a sheet on the outside wall of my house. There will be a list of wipe down rules in my bathroom. Hopefully all will go smoothly and we will still have fun in a safe way. Happy Pride!

I really can't buy anything, as I'm 14, but I'm great at crafting, and, as I always say: Pride is the most important thing, in June, and all year round. Sadly, I am not out of the closet yet, and I always feel uncomfortable when thinking to do it. This month is important, as it will be my 1st Pride month! I found myself July-August past year.

Well pride is something you have in your mind, It doesn't have to be a flag outside. It's more a mentality you have to be proud of yourself, even if you keep it to yourself. Second, whenever you need it, we have an entire playlist on our channel to help you come out, help prepare you for what might happen, help prepare you for things after you come out which you might not think about right now, and more. We will be adding a lot of episodes to this playlist within the next month because we make a lot of coming out advice videos during Pride Month but for now, I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need specific advice though, please ask. And always know that there is no deadline or rush to come out if you don't feel it's safe to come out right now. No matter what, you will always be loved and accepted by the entire LGBTQ community so you're not alone. We will be right by your side. Last night I watched Pose for the very first time. I felt I should share the show with my mom because I really think she'd enjoy but I now want to keep it to myself for a little while. I'm Asexual and I have 2 families - the family I was born into and my LGBTQ+ family (our whole community). I don't really know why but I feel Pose is something I need to experience on my own for now. It's almost like a spiritual experience for me.

Happy Pride and I knew when I was 11, friends of mine knew when they were 6 or 7 so you can never be too young to know who you love. And the younger you know, the more lucky you are so congratulations. We have new episodes 3 times a week and our channel is a safe place for lgbtq with haters being banned and always positive content and education for our community so please consider subscribing and coming back often. My little brother posted a drawing he made to celebrate gay marriage on his Facebook a few days ago and I'm so damn proud of him! He knows my sexuality which is bisexual and he came out as pan in August last year. I'm so happy to be so close to my little brother that we can share want our sexualities are and celebrate pride month together! Happy pride month everyone! Even if we can't celebrate it out in public we can always encourage and support each other! To those who are questioning \ afraid to come out, there is always a person there for you who will support your sexuality \ gender identity! If you are unsure of who you should come out to, the internet exists for a reason! ♥ I was afraid to come out to my friends because they always make homophobic comments but it turns out that one of my friends were infact questioning his sexuality because he liked me! 😀 He's currently my boyfriend! Don't be discouraged! Love is love and you shouldn't push your feelings away because you're scare or ashamed!

No problem. And the "cross wheel" thing to the upper right side of the screen is actually an old film reel. I'm a filmmaker and camera guy so I collect old film equipment from back in the day when they used to use film and reel-to-reel projectors instead of digital hard drives.

I live in a very homophobic area, so setting up pride flags was intimidating for both my mom and myself. Her Boyfriend is "neutral" on LGBTQ so we were both worried about stirring the pot, but I realized that for other people who may not be able to come out, especially where I live, that they're not alone. I remember seeing rainbow flags or trans flags before I came out, so it was pretty cool to be able to do that to others. Hope you're all well

I just remembered a random lgbtq+ history fact! The first successful c section in Africa, where both mother and child survived, was done by a transgender man! His name was James Barry who was later learned to be born a female named Margaret Ann Bulkley!

this helps a lot because i'm one of the really young people at the age of 13. when i'm to think more on what like i do think but i away stop an tell myself "You have a clear opening and you know very well what you want to be." when accidentally came out to my step-mom i was scared on what she was going to say and she said the one sentence no LGBTQ person would want to hear and i broke down. i wanted her to see how that made me feel but couldn't so i hid in my room for long time trying to tell myself its ok but only want to say is that have the confidence and strength to tell some how you feel and what you are. ^^

Its my first pride out to everyone as Lesbian and im turning 14 on the 19th june so im ordering many pride flags to hang in my section of mine and my sisters bedroom and i can't wait! It feels so good to finally be able to celebrate who i am and who i love, and that i don't have to hide anymore. I live in Florida and have forever. I was gaining confidence to come out. Then the Orlando incident happened. I was traumatized knowing how who i love could get me killed. That's when everything hit me. Im still linda closeted but i really never want to come out to my parents because im scared that they might get hurt or someone will come at us or threaten us. Its sad that i have to think this way but i dont feel safe. Stay safe please everyone

And that comment is the exact reason why we need things like the #EqualityAct passed nationally, LGBTQ education made manditory in all schools so future generations grow up learning it's normal and healthy to be LGBTQ, why we need conversion therapy bans, and why we need our hate crime laws rectified to include acts of violence against the LGBTQ.
