I am going to refer this video to all those that think they know everything about whether or not its a kidnapper or mother. This video is PERFECT and explains it quite well. Thank u for this
The mother seems to be following the snatcher. If you watch the baby smells of then trys very hard to get to her. This is in the first vedio. Mum also calls out to him several times and he answers. Very interesting vedios even with the auto focus! thank you!
What a sweet little guy! He’s got such a cute face. These babies are so much more disciplined and the mothers don’t seem to abuse them as on other channels. I haven’t seen an angry baby yet! So nice!
That's because Arroz doesn't deliberately provoke the monkeys. He keeps his distance and treats them with respect. The other channels deliberately antagonize the monkeys. They will feed the little ones out of turn so the adults discipline them. They will harrass and abuse the monkeys endlessly, throw things at them, feed them marbles, spit on them, kick them, scare them with fake snakes, kidnap their babies, even kill them... They almost wiped out an entire troop in less than 2 years. All for views and ad money. Dont judge the monkeys. Judge the idiots behind the camera who torment the monkeys and the creeps who enjoy watching that stuff.
Aw... baby bit Snatchers thumb and she flinched, because it obviously hurt... and the baby looked up at her captor, and sort of reached up to her face, and looked as if to say, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bite that hard" so even in it's confined situation that baby had more compassion than the "baby snatcher" That's so sweet.
When he struggles it reminds me of our long-suffering family cat, who was the only "sibling" I had. He did a lot of wriggling, I used to subject him to things like a bath or the pool. Getting him dressed up in doll's clothes, then pushed down a hill in a carriage...you get the idea. Kona, bless his heart. He lived to be 23, he was put to sleep because of immense suffering. The porta-vet came to the house. I got to hold him while it happened. Wow, that was a downer. Sorry guys. Over-share. Video ruined. :(
Joe Q. Jackson I'm so very sorry for your loss.i know how you feel. all my pets are family members!! it hurts . really really hurts.you never will forget them.time , lots of it , will help to tolerate it. I will say a prayer for you. please ask God to help you & he will.
@@khiggins7612 the momma was following the kidnapper the entire time . And at the end of the video she showed the kidnapper her rump basically saying enough is enough, its time to give my baby back.
Since this was before they all had names, by reading the description I thought it could be one of Gypsy's babies and a babysitter. It's definitely a kidnapping though and it looks like the mom is trying to get her back after the 12 minute mark
What a precious moment at 12:22 with Grandma caressing baby's little face and him staring back at her with wonder😍😍😍. I've never seen such a blatant effort to comfort a monkey baby like in that moment. And monkey haters want to say that macaques are devoid of love and self awareness🙄. I am puzzled though at the vast difference in characteristics between long tail macaques and these rhesus macaques. LTM, to be more specific - those living in Angor or Anglur Park in Cambodia I believe, where the majority of footage is shot and posted on RU-vid, are highly abusive towards their offspring and one another at times. It's very sad to the point where it's a rarity to see video content of nurturing protective mothers caring for their babies in an acceptable manner who hasn't tried to wean it on day 2 of life or constantly turn every attempt from the baby to nurse into a battle where mom always wins and by win I mean gets to continue not having to nurse her newborn whom she just tired out in a battle of wit and strength, who hasn't handled her baby with little to no care trying to remove morsels of food stuffed in its cheek pockets, or who hasn't simply grown tired of having to cater to a baby that she beats it for no apparent reason whatsoever. Worse than that, these are the monkeys from which babies are ripped from their mothers arms and sold to would be RU-vid monkey (abuse) channels. The problem with this is that I assume because these monkeys are so horrible to their babies and to each other, that abusers feel justified in their treatment of their Cash cow pet monkeys. And now that I've rambled on for way too long I'll end it here.
I don't believe sitting on that tall ledge is a good spot to do a lot of struggling. I would guess at this point this is a kidnapping for all the reasons already mentioned. I simply have a very hard time understanding why it is that monkeys are such kidnappers regardless of their breed. It's especially difficult to understand the kidnappers that drag the babies across rocks by their tails and push them into the dirt, sit on them, they stand on them and basically throw them around and beat them. I don't know what they're trying to accomplish so it's very difficult for me to get a handle on why it happens so often. This is a beautiful baby however and I love the video. As always excellent! Thank you!
Oh, it's Aggy, the "baby snatcher!" I recognize her cause she sticks her tongue out. Lol! That baby looks like Baty which would make this baby Baty's older sibling by a year cause Baty was born in spring 2016.
Some babies have more tolerance. Some are kidnapped for too long and get hungry and desperate. (I dont blame them, i would too lol) some babies get snagged before they are able to drink milk from mom or during feeding. Some are gently kidnapped i call it babysitting. And some are brutal like possum monkey and deedee (different troops i know just using them for examples) hope that helps my friend!
I couldn't make out who it was who tried to comfort the baby and even (I could be wrong) offered her a nurse by standing in that position numerous times. You can see she nursed her baby by her teats. She kissed her nose and stroked her face. It warms my heart to see them do things we do to our own little ones or family members. I certainly don't mean the nurse part but we do give bottles, we kiss and we stroke their faces that we treasure. Whowever that was must be a good Mother to her own baby.
Bc that is the baby's mother and was shoving her rump in the kidnappers face as a way to nicely request her baby be given back to her . And if you noticed the kidnapper refused to look at the mama when she shoved her rump into her face because then she would have acknowledged that the mother was requesting her baby and the kidnapper was blatantly refusing to give back the baby . So the mother will continue to follow her baby with the kidnapper and shove her rump into the kidnappers face a few more times before she forcefully takes her baby back. Majority of the time it's done this was to avoid the baby getting severely hurt , or worse killed. The mom is very obviously losing her patience though. She has been following super close the entire video , that's why the kidnapper was constantly changing locations.
+Arroz Marisco Are you absolutely sure that this is not a babysitting situation? I guess I am just hoping for a happy ending. Great video's. I watch them over and over and see something new each time.
+Arroz Marisco I think just about all the cameras now do that with the auto focus.. Which makes it much more difficult for filmers like you, but I guess with all the movement to keep up with the monkeys also makes the auto focus go blurry. But we cant expect wildlife & nature to stay still, now can we lol. Either way, I still enjoy your videos!
Thank you for another great video, I understand it's hard to focus with the tree limbs and such in front of the monkeys, regardless it was still a good video with lots of good meaning, I definitely think she monkeynapped the baby when she was in the tree she was trying to hide & on the ground she was looking over her shoulder the whole time, poor baby was fighting with all he had to get away, I do think at the end it was the mom, she must be lower rank and couldn't cause a Sean, the monkeynapper couldn't even look at her she just looked at the ground. I wish the little fellow all the luck in the world.. Thanks again from Alabama !!!!
The reason the kidnapper wouldnt look at the baby's mama is because then she would be deliberately ignoring the mother's request for her baby , so the kidnapper continues to act as if she doesnt see the momma shoving her rump in her face .
My question is--- why didn't you help? That babie has lived a year of hell, which you might save him from, I have admire all your work, and thoughtfulness, you have done for the primates and the viewers, has been wonderful.and the fact of not interfering with nature, it in question, but my God how could you stand it? At least find a groundskeeper or somebody......Im sorry Arroz, for the baby, for you, for the viewers, babies mother (so where was she). (Why didn't she follow or fight?) and for myself for feeling I had to write this letter to you, for I had admiration of you. God save his little soul.
I know your said that "kissing her ears" as her trying to comfort the baby but it seems more like she's soothing herself and not the infant, pacifying for her own comfort more, the baby seems annoyed by it.
I though I saw a human hand come up to snatch that infant. The baby saw him too before his Mum did! Didn’t look like a monkeys hand! That 1st that went up to them wasn’t his Mum; he showed no interest at all in her.
I also study Macaque and other non-human primate behavior. I have a video of a female who kidnaps and actually kills an infant who I have studied for years as I believe she has done this before. This behavior is vey interesting.
I believe the mother monkey who is backing up to the baby and kidnapper in the latter part of the video is the mother. She is trying to get the kidnapper to smell her and know that her smell is the same as the babies.
I see have a long lens, are most shooting with a phone why are they standing so close? No disrespect I am just curious.Others seem to invade the monkeys space. Help
Even at the begining of the video you can see a lactating female with no seen baby sitting close by her. The monkey with the baby changes her position moving further away and her back turned to the other monkey. The other female moves again to get closer, then the monkey with the baby moves furrher up the tree and the other monkey follows close behind. Looks like3 someone took their baby sitting a little too seriously and doesnt want to give the baby back, maybe if I ignor the mom and pretend like i don't see her she will forget and just let me keep baby. Having to do everything one handed will get old and increaingly hard .
The "adult" kidnapper is not really an adult but a juvenile, probably baby's big sister born the year before.kidnapping is common among this age group females who want their own babies but won't conceive until a little bit later. It's strange that mother has not insisted on getting the baby back yet unless she has twins or is injured or dead..
I agree, but I think the "baby snatcher" is more than just one year older, she is way to big. Its so common for the females that have not quite hit maturity to conceive their own baby yet, so they try to steal one. I do also see a lot of videos where older siblings are entasked with watching their younger sibling, & I've heard of a few that have lost babies & try to steal one too. crazy!
Kidnapping is almost an exclusive trait with long tailed macaques ( LTMs ). Rhesus and snow macaques have only been observed to do it rarely. You should consider such an act as a rite of passage for most LTM infants as they usually don't come to harm at all. A study by Fuentes ( a well-known primatologist of LTMs in Indonesia ) which followed a troop of some 250 LTMs for 4 years did find only one death indirectly caused by such kidnapping. The Cambodian channels exaggerate and dramatise such events to gain views
Your cometary is refreshing, it’s descriptive, informative and understandable. However, your video efforts need work. it’s constantly out of focus and wobbly. Maybe consider autofocus or a gimbal until you master manual if that’s what your using, or partner with a more experienced videographer. Based on your video descriptions I want to watch, but loose interest quickly because the video quality is so bad.
Dose she get her baby back??? Please, that’s what upset me, the other so call vo’s never showed how it started or how it ended, did mom get baby back ? Please
Hi your camera skills need work to them or you need a better camera either way you don't you ask your subscribers for a little bit of help I'm sure they will after all they will benefit from it as you're doing this for them so they see the paradise you see without the camera sorry if you think I being mean but I'm not trying to be. You could set up a just giving page or you could get t-shirts made with your logo on them with your you tube details on the back so your followers will rise without it costing even more money for advertising there might be another way you have been thinking about yourself hope I've been of help to you and not a pain in the arse love your videos even with the out of focus parts and pixelated areas sorry there I go again.
hi Lain thanks for your feedback. This' one of my earlier work and I hadn't a clue with videographing, I was more into landscape photography then. You could check out my work on Google map here www.google.com.hk/maps/contrib/117565688403001302622/photos/@0.065037,116.5100279,3z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m3!8m2!3m1!1e1?hl=en I have changed to a camera with better IQ last year for animal videography and now things are getting a tad better. yes I really should have gotten myself a proper camera earlier :)
We already Dy has to propensity to I jure a baby we have seen it. Why is nothing being done ti isolate her from the rest of troop? I've seen this behavior in other troops and I can say with certainty it doesn't end well. Please do something before a baby is killed.
Dy is a victim of human interference as she has been sterilized. She is just craving for a baby. Rhesus seldom practise infanticide, unlike long tailed. Just leave her alone :)
@@MrJStone12 Rhesus don't usually do that. I can't say the same for long tailed macaques as they are known to do so from time to time. Not a single rhesus baby I have followed over the last 3 years have come to harm as a result of Dy's craving for babies.
@@ArrozMarisco360Aroz, I'll take your word for because i've watched your site long enough to see you have a lot of knowledge and respect the mothers and babies. Started watching about a month ago and you have by far the best videos I've seen. There's a mother group called the amari I think and these filters are by far the worst on the planet. They should be locked up and fined for the way the treat and film the group.
+Jaumais it's actually a variable local length ( 90 - 350 mm ) long lens with a maximum aperture of 4. The auto focus really is to blame and had I another chance I would have chosen a 200mm manual lens with a f value of 2.8 in my collection for this interesting subject.
PLEASE learn how to.use the focus properly if you are going to do these videos. The constant in and out of focus makes me want to throw up. I really like your videos, but you HAVE to get your focus issue under control. It is really bad. Please learn that asap so I can watch more of your videos that don't make me nauseous
