I received mine on Tuesday. Love it! Be forewarned you will probably have to drop the fuel tank to remove the bolts for the stock bumper.

My rear quarter panel spot welds actually broke, so the whole tailgate and spare tyre would drop down when I opened the tailgate. That’s just with a 31!!

I Got the same bumper from Hookeroad and the only problem I'm having is it's missing some kind of latch or something to hold the wheel carrier from swinging bank onto the tailgate while its open. It makes it a real hassle anytime I'm trying to get or put anything into the back of the jeep.

Did you put the 2 old bolts back in the frame rail or did the kit have new ones? I can’t figure out what size bolts those 2 are on my TJ. I’ve tried multiple bolts and they won’t thread so my whole bumper moves front and backwards with the weight of a 35”

I definitely need to add this to the many upgrades and repairs I have now completed with my son on our 95 yj. Tailgate started to actually crack near the latch. We picked up a replacement tailgate, but have not been able to get torx head to bite on hinge screws - any tips to remove tailgate with this challenge?

I love the color that you painted the Jeep and now I'm feeling some spice colored flares with a spice colored top, and then some nice machined aluminum wheels to top it off! My opinion, but obviously not my Jeep lol. Where's Broncosolid been lately?

I recieved mine today for my TJ, one end of it was dropped probably by the shipper and it is now bent on the drivers side end piece next to the latch. Also when i put the tire carrier on, the latch pin is way to high about 2"s. The rod that holds the carrier and bottom bearing came with the bearing already installed. When i lift up on the swing gate just a little which takes it off the bearing a bit the latch rod can close but the rod with the bearing is off center in the swing gate. I tried contacting hooke road but no response yet. I dont know what to do or how / if it can be fixed.

Dale: I would be concerned about what weight you can attach to that trailer hitch. Could not find specs on company website. Just said it was "Standard". Also what can you tow with it if you wanted to? Good video as usual.

The YJ is looking good. Do you have any suggestions on family roll bar padding? We are getting ready to swap ours in but need the padding. All of the one's you can get seem to have bad reviews.

You really should have greased those bearings. As you mentioned with oil you have to oil it every now and then. With grease you would never have to worry about it again.

Hi Dale, When they shipped you the bumper did they deliver the bumper and tire carrier packages at the same time? I order this and all that showed up today was the tire carrier… 🤦‍♂️

Your link to Hookeroad doesn't seem to work today. I would like to do this to my '93 YJ. I really like the construction of this tire carrier, i've been looking at them for awhile but have yet to pull the trigger.

Yeah. I'm not sure why. As I'm sure you know, TJ and YJ are very similar. This rear bumper fits well, if you don't use the flip down license plate over the gas fill. That was only issue with having tire carrier on the bumper.
