Those kinds of situations are why I hesitate to put any pride flags or similar symbols on my bike or ride the way I want to. I felt myself drifting towards being that guy. I recognized it stopped myself before I got too far. I see some people who have clearly been going down that route for 20+ years, and it's difficult to see how they can turn around.

Road rage in America is the most ridiculous shit ever. Continues to baffle me how fragile people's egos are on the road. Glad youre safe and love your vids. I dont ride motorcycles but your videos have made me much more aware of motorcycle safety and the realities of riding on the road.

This is why I actually practice drawing my firearm while wearing my gear, on my bike, at an outdoor range. Living in Texas, having a motorcycle as my only means of land transportation, and in Houston at that too, I run the risk of this type of encounter every time I go out. In this kind of moment I just break every law I can, because at worst it makes people judge me from their cars. At best, police notice it and pull me over and I tell them someone was trying to kill me. Btw Lynnwood Fire station, South County Fire Stations 22 and 18, and City of Bothell Fire Dept are all along that route, I’m sure if you send all the stations nearby the video they’d be able to find out who it is. Not saying get the guy fired, but… let his superiors know the kind of guy they got working for em, might just save the taxpayers a lot of money. Yknow, since qualified immunity is a thing. I drive an ebike, where it's illegal to lane split, and a car pulled up next to me on my way to school. The guy was actually chill besides when I told him, "I'm not sure this is legal" and his response was "I don't really care."

I saw this Christmas morning and I'm still processing it a day later. What do I take away from this? I'm reminded on my brief stint in pilot training and how we learned that you should treat near-misses with the gravity of an actual accident. He nearly pulled a gun in a crowded area in open daylight over nothing. And the fact he didn't see any consequences - losing his gun, his driver's license, or being forced to undergo anger management, automotive or gun safety training - will embolden him the next time he decides to respond with violence. From what I feel sometimes is because people commuting just think it is not fair to have someone else "cheating the grind" going through traffic like that, specially because little minded people all probably have that impression of "bikers are all bad people" stereotype. I live in a place where firearms are illegal but I've heard some road rage stories of people getting their baseball bat out and getting pepper sprayed in return lol.

I don't understand people's problem with bikers. I've always been one with the cage, myself, and when people see someone powersliding or whatever in a shitbox muscle car they get excited or ignore you. People see you ride a bike completely normally and they lose their minds. Why?

I hope people learn to respect and appreciate motorcyclists more. I tried to when I was a driver, and now that I just ride a bike, I love seeing motorcyclists out and am happy to share bike lanes with them if they're trying to filter through traffic.

You are 100% correct about this guy and “this guy” - they are dangerous. They are also exactly the people who should never be anywhere near a gun - let the police protect them or let them adjust their attitudes and settle down off their high horses for once in their lives. I’d rather have fewer fire fighters than have bad fire fighters like this guy. Someone like him would probably always take that to mean I want fewer fire fighters rather than what I actually mean, which is I’d rather people like him take control over their own lives and become better human beings and reach their potential as a person. They don’t seem to realize that being an entitled asshole is optional, not a requirement. The thought has never entered their mind. That’s the problem. I suspect that people who develop personalities like this - aside from clinical psychopaths who are actually born that way - probably come from abusive homes or backgrounds, so I do have empathy for their situations. No one should have to grow up or live in that kind of environment, and every kid deserves to be loved and supported and grow up in a healthy, nurturing environment. Some people don’t. Those people need help as adults, and so as you said, if you know this guy or you know “this guy”, do something about it. They need professional help. Literally. They can’t do it on their own.

I’ve had a similar situation in gridlock traffic in LA. I was lane splitting on the freeway and some dude in a truck intentionally cut me off by moving his truck into the middle of the lanes. I had to panic stop, but i was more so worried about the biker behind me not realizing i stopped causing me to get sandwiched. The dude in the truck just mocked but i was just confused i didn’t interact.

This is why I try to not ride during rush hour anymore in Cincinnati. Just too many unstable drivers out here to justify the risk. One car swerved in front of me a couple months back and I ended up with a foot injury. I wish they could chill the fuck out and get some therapy. Seen too many people in local bike groups dying or getting seriously injured. I hope the video helps that firefighter change his behavior. We're all just trying to enjoy our ride 🏍

I'm a firefighter/paramedic in Washington. This upsets me that we still have these guys around in our departments. We are supposed to be understanding, non-combative, and a pillar of our community. Not a dick running around with a stick up our asses. There is a changing culture in firedepartments and the "good ole boys" are going away, thank god. this guy reminds me of the toxic firefighters in big departments in pierce/king county. Sorry you had that experience with a firefighter like that, most of us are caring people and a huge amount of us also drive motorcycles lmao.

My bikes possibly not fast enough. So i woulda probably had to put my bike in neutral, kickstand down, get off bike, stand where i am and face him, tell him to leave, and shooter ready stand by... Same thing happened to me about a week ago, and i choose flight because they were just rules policing.

As a person who only walks everywhere, i was kind of hoping this might be a video on how to avoid my own road (or i guess sidewalk) rage. I just nearly got hit by two giant dodge rams exiting the Tim Hortons drive through this morning after dropping off my little daughter at her bus, because the drivers were too busy drinking their double doubles and eating their donuts and trying to exit the driveway before the other one, and all I could do was hold on my giant steel water bottle extra tight so I didn't throw it into the windshields of those stupid trucks.

I've gotten mad at other drivers before even people on bikes and i may not have even been right every time, but i have never once done anything more than yell in my own car where no one else can hear me. Even when i am unambiguously correct in a situation i still would never actually confront someone. Maybe it's cuz i dont own a gun and never will, but holy shit the entitlement is crazy with some people. Even if another person is driving like an idiot I still don't want anyone to die.
