I agree. He needs to be the spiritual leader as well. We all have our roles in the family for it to operating properly. A woman should Never belittle their children's father in their presence. If there is a dispute, do it privately. A man should feel Loved when he walks through the door after a long hard day!!

I am man but do not subscribe to your assertion. I believe what is not right in the open is also not right in private. Likewise, I appreciate dealing wit a situation d way it is regardless of the presence of the kids. My 2 cents: when a man is in charge it allows women to unlock their feelings and emotions; to be totally feminine. Women's emotions make life worth living BUT only when channeled for good. The solid male-female bond allows this.

I think if you want to restore society and humanity to its norms and significantly reduce ill health, poverty, incarceration, violence and divorce like it was in the 1950's & 1960's, then this is exactly the stuff you need to teach everybody - starting with kids in schools. Because it's all about the chain of command and everybody playing their role in that chain, and knowing their boundaries, and respecting the ones above them. Men don't expect women to disgrace themselves by supporting their husbands. Men want to have a united effort to lead the family. I want my wife and daughters to be happy more than anything else. My son and I would do anything and everything for them and yet their moods only became negative towards me for a bunch of perceived offenses despite my trying to bend over backwards as much as I could to make them as comfortable as possible. At least for my family, I feel Karyn is speaking a lot of truth and I pray daily for my wife and girls to realize how their happiness isn't something I can just will and make happen for them. Each day my heart breaks like it were the first time because my wife and daughters left and I don't know really how they are doing. Those wives who are listening to Karyn, the men in your life most likely love you and want the best for you. Please listen carefully to what Karyn is saying and look at yourself to see if you are being overly critical of the men in your life. For the men, please hear that you are loved and your nature to do good is the better thing to exercise. I know that in our pain we may reconsider our approach to the women in our lives but being negative and forcing them to accept our ability to take control won't work, it will only feed the toxic masculinity lie that society is telling women. Men and women, you're loved. Be of strong courage and fortitude and be the good you know the world needs.

This is true… however, the ONLY way women want to adhere to this idea is if the man is paying for EVERYTHING and he has ALL the money. But the catch 22 is when THAT’S the case, the woman has to submit COMPLETELY and then THAT’S where the ‘I am woman, hear me roar’ comes in and SHE loses.
It's not about the man's FEELINGS. It is about the fact that women CANNOT lead men and that women have a NEED to follow a man. The whole reason the woman chose that man to be her husband is because she wanted to follow him. Then, after marriage, she suddenly thinks that he is an idiot and she is the smart one.

About 10 years ago, I brought my date to my house and she took an apple off of my table and started eating in an attempt to assert dominance in my own house. I grabbed it out of her hand and pushed her out of my home and told her to go assert dominance somewhere else cause I'm the KING in my home and she has no special privileges here. She stood out on my lawn out in the rain begging for me to call a cab for her and I just ignored her.
Grandpa said it best - "Son a Husband's/Father's main job is his household is to be the one who says "NO"...that's his main purpose to be firm for the family.
The only thing I can say to this is “social conditioning” tbh. Not every man wants to feel like they’re the “head.” I think most men, especially younger generations want to be equals. If you think what “makes a man” is being a leader or head, then that’s solely due to social conditioning. Nothing wrong with wanting to be active or influential in a relationship. But when you make it about gender, it just gets unhealthy to me.
Real men do not need permission to be the leader of the family. They are not the boss of the family they don't stand in the back and say go do this and go do that although the children may perceive it that way when they are given chores chores are nothing more than teaching your child how to accomplish a task from beginning to end it teaches them a work ethic. People thought that they were being used as slave labor when they were taught how to actually do something to completion when parents stop giving this they took away what men brought to the family The ability to teach people how to be independent. Now I guess we need your permission to be the head of the family I don't feel that in my life. But then again staying married isn't something I've seemed to do so well at. My first wife I think we lasted 9 years my second 32 my third five mostly for the same reasons the children refuse to do chores and she would not make her boys do anything and I wasn't going to do their work for them I am not their slave and they need to learn how to do things to completion here they are in their twenties still living on Mama's teet. You can gas lighter real man all you want and try to turn them down and if you don't love him that is how you would treat him but if he is a true leader and leads the family in a productive and prosperous way like a good leader does maximizing the strengths of everyone on the team then you realize there is the quarterback and then there is the second string quarterback. And as a youth I remember sometimes George blanda came in and won the game so having someone in the second share is not only essential to the team it can be that that pushes the team forward. Mostly raised by my mother since my father and her divorced while I was young I assure you leadership is not something that has to be ginger-based but having a father in the home is a definite advantage two young people especially young men who are so prevalently taught just by females. Females who do not grasp what it is to be a man and never will. They may respect what a man can do but they cannot be a man because men are hormonally driven men are very quick to react and they should be a protector unless if you are marrying a beta. if you want someone who is weaker than you believe me there are plenty of strong women out there who can walk on these weak men. My mother was a very strong woman so I admired her strength and her willingness to go on despite adversity it is where I got my pit bull attitude from. However I see things differently than she did mostly because I am a man and I have been an alpha my whole life. Some people don't know how to adapt to alphas and some people think that all alphas are mean and bullies. But a lot of that is just their perception. I'd much rather build a team that can function if I drop dead than one that will have no clue of what to do once that patriarch is gone and everything falls to Mom. Moms of the world are the ones that are the glue that hold the family together and when they are not the glue the family does not stay together!
