Good for you to realize that you didn't want children at a young age

What a refreshing conversation from a man’s perspective. My husband and I are also CF but we sort of pushed into it. We recently found out we can’t have kids, and while we had been fencesitting for awhile, this news allowed us to accept this was the life for us. And to be honest, we’re absolutely okay with it. We both love kids, too, and we have plenty of nieces of nephews and my kid brother that we can enjoy. It does get difficult with our families because we’re Mexican and it’s still very taboo to not have children.

Same - I didn’t feel that biological feeling or want to have children. I don’t feel I have maternal instincts for human kids but I do have them for my dog and cats. I just love animals so much! My husband year after year felt like he wasn’t ready and then came to realize, it’s not for him and I’m glad he realized that on his own. Then we discussed and realized we were on the same page. ❤ Thank you for sharing your story!

the childfree community definitely needs more male voices!! I would love to hear more of their stories. alot of us have known since a very young age we didn't want children. just like people have the calling to be a parent, we can have a calling to not be a parent.

You are right that some parents don't concern themselves on the feelings of their children unfortunately my parents did this at times especially my father to be a parent you have to focus on what is best for your child and put your needs and feelings to the back

I was 13 when I had a funny feeling that I may not want children, and not bring them into an environmentally degrading world. As I gotten older, I made the decision to not have kids. Not in a world like this.

So many have had terrible or "unfun" childhoods. When you meet your ♥, you need years of cuddling and joy to fill you up on what you didn't receive as a child. I think y'all are adorable when you choose you. It's like Bam Bam and Pebbles. Those two don't need kids. They're so cute. When I speak to teenage/young couples, the sweetness that comes from the cuddles, their entire personality changes for the better. So many go on and on about seggs and all that, then immediately to babies. What about the people themselves??? Their hearts. Their little souls that were neglected. Seeing couples cook together and discover that they can make a safe environment for one another, even if that means a hammock in the living room instead of a couch. It's like their home becomes that Tree House they always wanted when they were young. I am so glad so many are taking this time to mend their hearts. We don't talk enough about how cute y'all are. You're not selfish, you're choosing each other. That's huge. You're not saying, you're the wife, so clean my toilet and you're the husband so give me cash. LOL!! You're best friends; lovers. You can fart in front of each other. You can admit you're scared to look under the bed and say, "please you do it, I heard a noise..." LOL!! So many adults are really just harmed children that survived prison aka school with the prison/school yard bullies, possibly a terrible home environment, starvation, etc. etc. Now with your cutie pie honey bunch you can know you won't go hungry, that they know you don't want your veges to touch, lol, or what evs. I am a Mom and I am so proud of all my little cutie pies; all of you/ewe...Mary had a little lamb...little lamb...little lamb...Mary had a little lamb and everywhere that Mary went the lamb were sure to go. 🥰

I'm single/unmarried and childfree all by choice. People get married for selfish reasons which involve companionship, sexual satisfaction and financial security. People have children for selfish reasons which involve a mini me, a caregiver and a legacy. I'm selfish because I want my life to be for me, based on me and all about me.

I love the viewpoint of being childfree from a man. I also decided to not have kids at 15. I also love children and want to help them in other ways.

Great thoughts, thank you for sharing them. I think more and more people will be choosing to not reproduce because getting groceries and paying basic bills is already tough with inflation!! I don't see it getting any better either...

Its good you realised you didnt want children before having them. I also had a job with kids for 5 years and I realised how much happier I was when I didn't have to deal with them.
