I have said this countless times, as a man must come a time when you leave your wife. Even if its just to show that you can. The fact that women initiate 70% of divorces shows you that it is way too easy for them to just pack up and leave than it is for a man. It's a good dating filter though. My former girlfriend courted me, even though she knew I was unemployed beforehand. I was the one who initiated the breakup. Why? I was depressed because my dad and I weren't on the best terms, I completed the engineering course and got my license because I know it would make him happy... And I'm not one to share their problems to other people, so I lied to my now-EX that I was staying with her only for the sex... what's worse? She's fine with it. I don't want to use people, and gradually I said to her I'm pretty depressed and thought this won't work because I have family problems. This is why I don't like promises. She's a gem, for sure, even my overprotective sisters and mother grow fond of her in less than a month. She even made me meet her parents, and they're decent as well. Step one: invent a personal story, and "confide" in her. Make it clear how personal it is, and swear her to secrecy. If she reveals that to anyone, particularly people you specifically mentioned in this "story", or individuals you asked her to specifically NOT tell, you know the kind of person she is. Then move to step 2: give her the out... act clingy, emotional, jealous, needy... like a woman... and when she drops you, consider yourself lucky. Move on.

We are all humans with emotions and we will all face difficult times. It doesn’t matter how strong anyone seem, most people feel sadness or desperation or anxiety or fear at times but that is necessary. I don’t believe that humans are bad at their core, we all have bad and good in us but the environment we live in will shape us, and we will have to choose how we want to be like. I can’t look at an innocent baby and believe that it’s bad at it’s core. I have a really good memory and I even have memories from when I was 2 years old or a bit younger, and I really remember the innocence and sweetness the most. Then some babies become monsters after life... yes life is difficult and it will change these babies, but that is how it’s supposed to be and we have to accept this to be happy! I can’t say that I know that things will change but I think that it will and that it is already changing. People like everyone here that are talking about this and sharing their experiences are making a big difference for someone like me for example! That will make a difference for my family, and for my future family if I have one. If it’s only changing one life it is making a big difference already. If you have faced this, be happy that you aren’t in this relationship anymore and know that it was probably something that made you stronger and wiser in the end even if you can’t see it now!

I've done this. Worked at TD Bank - about halfway between Montreal and Toronto. I worked with a young girl, don't get me wrong - she was very pretty - but half my age and engaged, who started following me around like a lost puppy as some of the older gals described it - lol. I had to go on sick leave for 3 months for back surgery and I noticed that she was driving by my house in the mornings, and she actually came to my door 3 times to visit. She seemed very sweet and all, but, at the same time, if she would carry on like that behind her fiancé's back, well - I wouldn't consider a relationship with her. Nothing seemed to work except this. It works.

I've used this once, and it was on a girl who openly said she manipulated people for their own good so I didn't feel even slightly bad about it when I found out she was diagnosed with BPD and had lied about a ton of other baggage. She didn't even break up with me so much as presented me with a known dealbreaker, and I simply held to it which I think kind of threw her for a loop considering how effeminate I'd been for the month or so prior. It's always better to be upfront and end things with a respectable woman if things aren't going to work but when you're dealing with literal crazy the rules evaporate and you do what you must to avoid harm for both of you. Sometimes the truth isn't enough.

I've tried to break up with my last girlfriend 3 times before I decided to make her confortable with the idea of a break up. Seriously, if I tried to go the honest path 3 times and it failed due to manipulation, why should I continue?

This sounds like a painful way out for both. You can also do an ultimatum like women often does, however you stay true to your words where the toxic ones often dont. Fx give her 1 - 3 chances to change whatever you dont her doing or you will break up and it's over forever. She may not believe you at first so she will break the first chance very soon. Let her know she have 2 left and also let her know you wont stand for it (You can be angry, sad etc). This way you have time to prepare for a full breakup like moving out or have a friend ready etc. If she breaks the last chance you basically follow through with your plan and stand true and tall to your words. You dont feel sorry of your own behavior because you know deep indside it's the right thing to do and dont go back to her afterwards of course. Also if she does not like this, it works even better and will work like a punishment for her to break your trust and she can only blame her self that the relationship ended. Even if she won admit it. You dont have to care, because you are long gone by then and you are not staying for the afterparty of her drama. You may need to do this differently if there is kids involved within the relationship.

In the beginning I was stoic and held my emotions inside, but over time (about 19 months) I was able to start being more vulnerable and emotionally available (which is what she said she wanted). Not too long after, she started withdrawing her availability to me and eventually started making excuses about why she wasn't available. I broke up with her and although I'm not blameless in the demise of the relationship, I now see how toxic and low quality she was. Funny thing is, I'm now emotionally healthier because of the split. She helped me in more ways than one.

Dude, I was in such a position once. I had to exhibit needy behaviour to get rid of this abusive, low, low quality woman. I knew that acting needy would make her leave me, but no, it's not in me. I can't act like that, it's not in my nature as a young adult. I waited until the circumstances were right so that I could press the HARD RESET button and dump her, and boy did she get a HARD RESET. A hard reset is a better alternative in my opinion.

I suspect a better way to go about this has to have conversation strictly over text for a long time before pulling out The Break-Up card. That way in case she ever does start lying about you, you could just screenshot the text messages and show everyone who's has been lied to.

I unintentionally did exactly this at the end of a toxic five year relationship and she left me. Good result. Sadly it wasn't because I decided too but because at the time I was a completely broken man. Never again though.
