I hate when people ask how is she a legend and how is she iconic.. she impacts people before and after her passing. Her music is still playing. I think of her every day and never knew her. That’s a legend.
And the crazy thing is shes a legand and will always be remembered and she didnt win lots of awards or had lots of number 1s or lots of albums and yet she will live on forever. It goes to show she had heart and something special that didnt need all that extra stuff
@@diamondking3413 she literally spoke this into existence. she BELIEVED she'd get the longevity she always wanted and she got exactly that beyond measure. I am so proud of her and love her so much.
No direspect to her at all as an artist I love her music she appeared to be a very sweet young lady, but only what you do for Christ will last, did she lead anyone to Jesus Christ, did she witness the goodness of Lord and his love for us all that's what matters that's prophesy, thats what its all about this thing we call life doesnt belong to us it belongs to him, hes to be glorified.

Lemon lolli Flowers What do you mean she willingly had sex with him??? it sounds like you are blaming Aaliyah; she was innocent 14-year-old child, when she meet R. Yessss I thought it was just me that feels that way about her like just her period her aura she’s so freakin pretty she was definitely One In A Million
Here she's about 22. The way she carries herself is very mature, sophisticated and above all sweet. I see why so many today want to be like her but she was very, very rare AND a triple threat: Singer, Dancer, Actor. What tragedy. I still miss her.
22 year olds back then were different than 22 year olds today. The ones today can’t do anything for themselves except use social media, generally speaking.
How was she so well spoken, so elegant, so classy, mature, she really had an Angelic glow about her, so self assured and confident, man we lost a Good one!!
She was breathtakingly beautiful. I can’t believe she was my age when she died. She exudes so much maturity and confidence at such a young age. I could never!
@@jcw180 If I see one more comment by your trolling ass....STFU you're so disrespectful. You will respect babygirl and her legacy you got her messed up. Don't come on here to hate. She's not burning that was a stupid ass disrespectful ass comment. Go somewhere else hating on someone who was an angel . And got taken advantage of by a grown ass man when she was 14/15 now STFU.
One thing for sure...... She knows how to answer her interview questions. She's so graceful and professional. You don't see this type of professionalism these days, as far as her speaking and diction is concerned. She's straight on point. She's so genuine and real. I loved her. I'm still hurt that she died, the way that she did 😢 Rest In Peace "Babygirl" 🕊❤⚘👑 #PrincessOfRandB 👑
When I was a teenager, I wanted to be Aaliyah. I used to wear my hair like hers swooped over my eye. I'm 41 oh, I didn't know we were so close in age. I miss her😫😭😢
Raheem D Because her uncle , and her overall team , are very stingy when it comes to Aaliyah & her music , interviews etc.) Just now , have they’ve decided to show the public more Aaliyah stuff.
She is so exhausted. To be a celebrity must be very grueling. She was still very professional and polite even through the exhaustion. Her body language. Her before the interview started demeanor screams tired. BUT, she looked flawless.
To me, Aaliyah was one of the most beautiful women that ever lived. I have yet to see any famous woman that can top her as far as looks. Absolutely gorgeous, and her demeanor was so graceful, gentle, and mature. Very charming. Hard to believe this was almost 20 years ago... Time flies. She is missed dearly.
@@CherrellMishelle well of course they do silly! Lol that's why I mentioned her grace, poise, and gentleness. She was also very intelligent, and quite mysterious as well... I have yet to see any female celebrity today with this same level of class. She was truly in a league of her own.
th3azscorpio You are so right, looking at her here 20 years ago, She was a ALL NATURAL BEAUTY 🥰 No Weave, No caked on make-up, no injections, implants or long claw like nails. 👸🏽
@@wandamcclain5251 She was the creme de la creme. Ive always held Aaliyah in high regard. Her demeanor was so elegant, and soft, yet she still had a commanding presence. Im so sick to death of ratchetness, wiling out, and black women showing their ass in the media. I wish we could all go back to how we acted in the 90's and every era previously. We certainly held ourselves, and each other in higher esteem, and we took pride in our actual appearances.
Bianca Clark and back then they had little Kim and escape who spoke about see and sleeping with men! I hate people act like this generation is so bad, I mean who raised them?
@Bianca Clark I think you are disrespecting Nicki and Cardi B and clearly don’t know them personally or know all of their music. Because if you did you’d realize that they are beautiful inspiring women that do have quality music that is motivating. Not all of their music is about sex and negative stuff. I feel that there are positives and negatives about everything and every generation. Music is beautiful and the artists that make it are brave because it’s not easy to entertain and be in front of the camera and be human at the same time. These people put in work.
A shame when I think about it... the role models of the last century and the beginning of the 00's were definitely relatable to the real life. What happend? Is it because of this money ruled world that we are living in?! Some rolemodels better watch what they say as guru said it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6q2jvFqdPYk.html Nowadays...more sex more skin... And very very small amount of class.... It is all about who has the biggest ass and who can twerk the best. I hope this will chance.... It's sad. I'm happy to be at 1991 child. Could have been 10 years earlier too :D
Crazy how the world has changed since 2001 here we have a gorgeous, well spoken, mild tempered and very talented young woman who the world loved and respected yet now in 2019 the bs reality tv stars, injecting your lips, sex tapes and outlandish scandalous behaviour is glorified and respected and gives you fame and fortune. Bring the old days back!!!
Everybody have skeletons in their closet including Aaliyah. The difference is back then their were no social media so a lot of things never leaked out. But I do have to admit that Aaliyah was a very private person. No one is perfect in the early 2000s Brandy lied to the world and said that she was married and she actually wasn’t. In the 90s Pam Anderson from Baywatch husband leaked a sex tape of them two having sex. So no one is perfect it’s just that we have cell phones and social media now and with just a click of a button personal information about an artist can be leaked and viewed by the whole world.
Uummmm did you'll forget she was married at 15 to r Kelly? I think that would qualify for outlandish scandal, a little girl having sex with a grown man. And wasn't he her producer, and didn't she get fame. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Dumbest comment so far in 2019
In her short career she really proved that she was a great entertainer. She had an amazing voice, she was a good actress and had some awesome dance moves
I still remember where I was at when I heard the news of here passing. I was crossing Florida on the hwy at night when the radio broke the news on 99 jams.
Its been almost 20 years and she looks up to date in today's society....wow...now thats a trendsetter fr fr... she was naturally beautiful, well spoken to have only been 22 years old...her aura is so angelic.
A lot of people saying they didn’t want Aaliyah legacy to be tarnished with this mess about RKelly.. What does that mean exactly? How can it tarnish her legacy.. she was just a child in no way was this her fault! Her parents are to blame .. Rkelly took advantage of her! To me even with going through this she’s still an Angel PERIOD!! Nothing to be ashamed of!
Cuz ppl r STUPID! If her career & "relationship" w/R. Kelly did tarnish her name, then how come OIAM took her 2 the top then! Once ur name is dragged through the mud & "tarnished" so bad, u don't bounce back & excel 2 the top so damn quickly! So, OBVIUOSLY her REAL TRUE fans weren't so quick 2 be done w/her then! It was only the haters that wanted 2 b so damn quick 2 write her off! How about they think about that ish!😡
People are cowards who don't want to touch trauma. They just want to bury it. I want the truth out for Aaliyah's sake. If I were dead, I'd be watching the Lifetime docuseries with a fist pump.
Tarnish because right now lots of false claims are being said on Aaliyah for views/clicks & to get paid. Some of these girls stating lies on her have changed there stories from past interviews yrs ago. Claiming they saw nothing happen between RK & Aaliyah. Now these same girls are saying they saw this and that. All for money.
S EF so what.. most of these celebrities have them ... I was referring more to celebrities these days that don’t even look recognisable especially when it comes to certain body parts.
Just stop gluing your hair on, sis. Lol. People act like having a hairline is magical. Nah. 99% of people do (or would) have them. The ones who don't ripped theirs out. Just stop doing it.
@@ocky88 don't assume you know what I have going on "sis" . I simply complemented her beautiful hair. I hope you're feeling better after your little comment though. Have a successful and prosperous 2019!
Global Mandy Some people can't simply cant compliment a person without being attacked....I understood exactly what you meant. And yes you can tell her hair was being well taken care of even with the weave.
We are all captivated by her natural beauty, sophistication and grace, she is not just a woman she is a lady and not every female is a lady. Aaliyah has the whole package, the brains, talent, beauty and personality, so sad she died so young but her memory and spirit will live on and on and on and. She will always be loved...forever young and beautiful a true 🌟
she was so ahead of her time she set so many trends! she even said the word “shook” in this interview as the slang is used today. he makeup, hair and clothing was advanced that we are just getting to it today which is crazy. we miss you babygirl ❤️
I remember the day when her song "we need a resolution" came out I was soooooo in love with the song in the first seconds it's was worst when "more than a woman" but it still prefer "rock the boat". I was so devastated in France when her death came on radio and TV!!
Less than 1 month before she passed away I remember Aaliyah being all over, straight dominating the entertainment industry. She was on a MTV documentary, she performed live on some late night show, doing this doing that.... I had sooo much respect for her. She seems tired now that I watch this.
I feel so sad sometimes that I didn't get to experience her when she was alive because I was 1 when she died and now I'm 18. Even from a different generation I can see her tremendous talent and how original and unique she was from everyone. It's also so tragic how something so horrible could happen to her and it always breaks my heart to think about it. (I am amazed at how many responses I've gotten since I've made this comment. I wanna thank all of you for your sweet comments it lights my heart up. Im glad that her legacy is so strong and its still effecting people from my generation.) (Guys I just stumbled across my comment again almost 3 years later. Yes I still come back and watch her videos even 3 years later. It warms my heart to stumble across all of your kind comments).
NN yea she was everywhere. She was always in magazines or visiting late night shows or hosting and performing. It was great watching her grow up into this really beautiful intelligent fun young woman. As you see Aaliyah left a great legacy and there’s nothing but positive things said about her because it was true. She was such a sweetheart in person. When she passed it felt like we lost a friend just because she was in the same generation as us.Her death really hurt a lot of people cause she was already successful but when she died she was at a point where the sky was the limit. she is very missed
I was 11 Years old when Aaliyah passed away. I do music and she was someone i looked up to. I wanted to be just like her. So when i heard she passed away i cried so badly about it. She really had such a cool nature...not cocky or aloof. She was private but open a great balance. For me it was so painful cause i was just old enough to finally see her in concert and experience her fully. But it would never come to be...and its really sad cause she was so young. So much life to live. Im 28 now and its still hard to watch these videos
NN, you are wise beyond your years. I am 25 and I have a relative around your age but I can understand why it would be difficult for someone born in 2000 to grasp Aaliyah's influence, so that you are able to do so is impressive. She was a big deal. There wasn't a party you would go to where her music wasn't being played. I was stunned when I heard she died. Looking back, it was kind of a crazy time, because it seemed so many of the leading musicians were dying off one by one at such a young age - Tupac, Biggie, Aaliyah, Left Eye, etc. It was really hard and I'm grateful this video exists because it was taken a few months before she died. It's also worth noting that she died not too far away from the September 11 attacks and that equally gripped me too.
This new generation will never know how talented she was, and what natural beauty meant, unless explained, or shown...she was more than a triple threat, none of the women today have anything on Aaliyah...the closest thing we have is Ciara
Don't worry, I am 17 and found her when I was 13. She is a role model to me and I try to be like her. Be natural, humble and true. I believe there are still other teens like me appreciating true artists. She will live forever in the people's hearts.
I remember my mom was making breakfast. And I was looking in the refrigerator. When I heard the news on T.V it's weird how you remember what you were doing or where you were at. When you hear tragic news.
Random Thoughts A month before? Gosh. She looked tired to. Maybe that’s why she rushed on the plane to get back home :( She was drained during her last days.
I could listen to her voice everyday. I will NEVER ever forget you Aaliyah. You were the first artist I ever listened to (that I remember) and you will forever and always be in my heart. I love you!
Ms. Campbell the Legend, yes I totally agree with both of your comments. I am watching older shows and movies and saying that I surely do missed the Elegant & Glamorous Days of the men and women🌹🌹
12:25 I smiled when she said she loved her fans and she does it to pleased them and herself and she knows her fans will always be there to support her... What I noticed is us fans are always there to support her and it's awesome how important she was and still is in our lives. We are still here to support you. We love you Aaliyah! R.I.P! 💕
What is sad is how she passed away. When the plane was coming down Aaliyah suffered a heart attack and a blow to the head. Then was ejected several feet away from the crash site. She was still strapped to her seat. The first responders discovered all the bodies burned beyond recognition. They said they found a body what appeared to be a woman but couldn't be recognized because how badly the body was burnt. Until this day I still can't get over Aaliyah death it makes me sad. I love her spirit and personality. She will always be one in a million. 🤔😱🤯😥😫😒❤
@@jcw180 No I feel sorry for YOU 😂 coming on here bashing a deceased person who isn't even here to defend herself. You're a coward and you're a disgusting human being.

She don’t look sad to me 🙄 she most likely was tired, very busy time in her career.. don’t believe me??? Do your research. She was filming a few movies and doing an album at the same time.
She still looks a little sad or in deep thought. I mean she did have an eerie dream about her body being lifted up. There was probably some premonition of her death.
