On the brake come back, I would have turns the rotors. Then I would get 240 sand paper , on a flat surface, and deglase the pads . Rough them up , a little.

The labor isn't covered on the shops end, only the parts. We have a very good relationship with Napa being a Gold standard service center and one of their top performing shops, so the easiest thing for everyone is to replace the parts. Machining the rotors voids the warranty from Napa.

@JimmyMakingitwork Sweet, thanks Jimmy. I'm using the Xtool A30 Bluetooth dongle currently. Pretty neat little tool. Bi-directional and has 8 special functions. They had some promotion on Amazon so with all the discounts, it was about $95. Free updates and no fees as far as I have been able to find

Fordtechmakeyouloco has done a video about the transmission on the escape (new body styles) that the transmission has a very poorly built valve body that expands and contracts. When there is heat on the valve body it will bypass the pressure and will have to build back pressure to shift. They tried a new weight reduction material but it failed miserably.

On that Chevy check the Vin # in the PCM with your scan tool and see if it matches the vehicle Vin. I’m guessing not.

Sounds like someone shotgunned a ecm in it with a junkyard module out of a newer ecm with the 3.6L being the only one they could find

Chrysler needs an engine, customer seems to have abandoned it. Cadillacs owner might be in jail from what we are hearing. But his estimate was about 8 times the cars value also...it's in bad shape.

Jimmy I have the topdon AL500B (battery tester/code reader) I have a 2004 Tacoma and it is not able to communicate with the code reader at all for some reason. I got it to work communicate one time by wiggling it though I’m not sure if that’s why it worked. Any ideas maybe software issue or maybe bad pin in my obd2 data link port? Thank you that scan tool seems great for a tech just starting out like myself

I would check pins 4 and 16 for power and ground. Also if another scan tool is available I’d try it as well. Often the connector has a pin that is a little sloppy and the wiggle test might have gotten a temporary connection. I have had to tighten pins on the connector or even replace it on a few occasions.

I have to disagree with that, modern cars are far more reliable than ever. Electronics can be a handful for some techs, but the right diag tool is your best buddy. New cars in the 60s/70s only came with a 12-Month Warranty. Engines needed a rebuild after 2 years or 40,000 miles 😅

While cars are more advanced, safer, better on gas and more powerful than ever for the most part, they are actually far more reliable. I love older cars for their history and design or appearance. But there is a reason many swap in newer drive trains.

they did that to the 24 Mustang 5.0 2 throttle bodies now (gtr comments). i agree on making things more complicated for 10 to 15 hp. the funny thing is whipple makes a supercharger kit that uses one throttle body that makes 800hp to the crank for the 24. im sure it's easier to tune that way also. 🪛🔩🔧 thanks for the content, jimmy 👍
