I absolutely loved Phoenix in this game. He’s like the ultimate mastermind, patiently waiting for his chance to bring Gavin down but knowing he can’t do it with the current legal system. Aside from meeting Apollo, which was luck, everything that happens at the end was carefully planned by Phoenix over the course of 7 years. And I really love the fact that, after he lost his badge, he forged evidence twice (once in the first case and once in the last, but the letter was discovered immediately). He fell from grace because of a trap that he fell into, and for seven years he tried to find a way out. Then finally, at the end, everything fell into place. So cool, and kinda eerie. He’s very morally gray in this game, and this mysterious theme fits that
@RoyalDogmeat
@RoyalDogmeat 2 года назад
Ik this is really late, but I don’t think the letter was intended to be forged evidence. It was just a transcription of the letter he saw in Kristoph’s cell, he obviously couldn’t get them the real letter so he looked at the footage and rewrote what he saw for Apollo to present in court, I don’t think it was ever meant to be deceptive like the card was (but even the card was just intended to lure Kristoph out into the open, not straight up lie about what happened)

Apollo Justice's darker tone has made so many changes to old characters especially Phoenix who started from a nervous wreck with a good life and friends to a neutral and calm bluffer with Trucy by his side only. @infinitechibi1496
@infinitechibi1496 4 года назад
Well I mean, he had kinda been looking into things for seven whole years... Apollo was just given 3 days. Also I don't think that this side of phoenix ever dissappeared to begin with, he was always and will always be like this, it's just hidden away by a goofy mask, phoenix is highly regarded to be an extremely intelligent individual. I think what we see here is his purest form of intelligence, leaking out from under a tired worn down mask, he hasn't got the energy nor the mood to be masking how smart he actually is. But then again he's smart enough to bide his time carefully and to wait for the best time to let out certain pieces of evidence whilst not revealing how much he knows. Besides he's mainly confidant because he already knows mostly everything, like I said earlier, he was probably researching for 7 years straight on the side, for once, phoenix isn't scrambling for evidence, or trying to save someone, he's a man with not much left to lose, (except for trucy), and he's had his sweet time to plan and get things together, this time he has full confidence and knows what he's doing, not just yoloing it as you'll see usually when he's given a limit of 3 days to proves the innocence and guilt of suspects/clients, during his lawyering days. And there's also the secrect satisfaction of revealing the horrible nature of Kristoph for who he is, a murderer and villain. It's probably why he seems a little smug, it's revenge and justice, pure and sweet. And phoenix is probably loving every moment.

After he was disbarred, he showed no emotions in public, but when he was alone in his apartment, he sobbed in despair. He also pushed his families and friends away and ignored their phone calls. Later, that night, his families and friends came to his apartment and found him sobbing in bed and barely ate. After spending the night and having sleepovers with his families and friends, despite he was still disbarred, Phoenix had regained hope. Two weeks later, he even adopted Trucy as his own daughter.

It's crazy you know? Kristoph was the perfect criminal. He left no decisive evidence behind him he covered his tracks perfectly. It got to the point where Phoenix had to make Apollo use forged evidence to bring him down in Turnabout Trump. Then in Turnabout Successor he had to use a test for a new court system (which is never seen again by the way) to bring him down for the last time. Phoenix, using his wits brought a legally immune criminal to justice. Let that sink in. Oh yeah Apollo was the star of this show but Phoenix was the mastermind the whole time. This truly proves just how amazing Wright is as an attorney. He catches criminals even when he isn't an attorney!
@AlguienCualquieraDelMundo

More crazy when you know that Kristoph did all because of pure envy on Wright, nothing more. That's what makes him the most sinister villian in the franchise.

@@AlguienCualquieraDelMundo Kristoph Gavin is quite delusional to think that he would've thought Phoenix as always winning his cases like he is enjoying it. No, ONLY the Von Karmas enjoy the prospect of winning every case they get their hands on. Phoenix Wright, the Wright Anything Agency, Klavier, and Edgeworth are a different kind of lawyers who fight to reach the face of truth no matter what. Like as you remember what Klavier said, law isn't absolute, it's full of contradictions. Kristoph Gavin is taking advantage of the vulnerabilities of the legal system so that he can get off the hook because of the fact that there is no decisive evidence that can be used against him. Phoenix Wright, and Klavier thought otherwise.

Don't you guys think, that in the last case of AJ AA, injustice prevailed? Think hard about it. * spoiler warning * Remember the Jurist system. Basically the Jurist system, in the game, is like having multiple judges to preside in a trial. The jurists are people not IN ANY WAY related to the case at hand to avoid bias. Now here's what's wrong. During the 2nd Trial day of the last case in AJ, Apollo proved a possibility for Kristoph to poison the stamp to kill the two Mishams. Kristoph then asked for decisive evidence that proves he put the poison on the stamp. Apollo presented the secret camera used by Phoenix to prove that the stamp on the yellow envelope was poisoned by Kristoph. Due to obvious reasons, the camera cannot be accepted as evidence. Kristoph should have not been declared guilty, that is if it was on the Inquisitory system. Kristoph was only declared guilty because of motives, opportunities and other ruling methods that I don't remember. Apollo convinced the Jurisits that Kristoph was the killer of Drew and Vera, but hasn't truly convinced YOU. Which is why you choose whether Vera is guilty or not. You have to decide if decisive evidence is still needed or not. Nevertheless, in the end, there were no legitimate decisive evidence/s to remove all doubt about the case. So in the end, the LAW LOSES TO KRISTOPH. Now think again. Why were the jurists, you and Phoenix the only ones to have played Phoenix's game (MASON System Investigation)? Apollo was only given evidence from the trial of Shadi Enigmar, not the details of the game because Apollo would know that most of the evidences that he will see in that game, will not be legitimate. You know the truth, yet there are no direct evidences leading to this truth; so you have to make sure you get the most just end, "by all means possible." Looks familiar? Phoenix used the "end justifies the means" method with no forging of evidence, yet in the end, he ended up forging a truth that caught the true criminal. Think. What would've happened if you didn't play his game? You would still have those doubts; you would still doubt that Kristoph was the true culprit. Truly, dark times have come for the court of law. How ironic, since the man who said that brought forth "The Dark Age of the Law".

It's all in the recordings, its that easy. By the reaction of Kristoph, you can tell what the developers intention was: to show you his preocupation regarding the secret camera, because he knew it showed the truth. At that point, its completely irrelevant if the camera itself can or can not be acepted as proof, thats just formalities. You know the truth about what the camera contains and so you do the only possible correlation, to punish that man for what he did. Again, if the proof of what he did can or can not be submitted is irrelevant, because it still proves it in reality itself.
@fordknievel2607
@fordknievel2607 3 года назад
TheTrickmeister Regardless of if the letter existed or not, Kristoph's "innocence" would not be tried again in court due to double jeopardy. I'm sure after the ruling in court, Kristoph was declared guilty and there wasn't much progress to make regarding arguments because they would just be rehashing the points Apollo and Klavier made. The country's high prosecution rate will only dig Kristoph's grave further since if he was the client, he would be "guilty until proven innocent", or in this game's logic: "guilty until another person is proven guilty without the shadow of a doubt".
@fordknievel2607
@fordknievel2607 3 года назад
FlaskFlash Anyone can react strongly to "incriminating evidence". Let's suspend disbelief here and say that Kristoph is the sample population of the "Anyone" I described. You can show Vera her bottle of atroquinine cuticle and say that she killed her father. She will most definitely react strongly to that as it is very incriminating, maybe just as incriminating as the secret camera. Presenting the camera will illicit a reaction from the person being incriminated because it was the decisive evidence to help Apollo's case. What if the camera was forged? Phoenix has definitely forged evidence to put Kristoph in that same solitary confinement with the bloody ace card. The point was that injustice prevailed…well, at least in the relevant provisions of the justice system back in AJ's era. But like in real life, there's a reason why people don't like using lie detecting machines in courts as evidence. Blackquill emulated this in future games by stopping Apollo from using his bracelet during the trials up until the final one. It's fine though if you think that that camera was the truth. That was your decision to trust that evidence for Vera's trial, thus giving her the not guilty verdict. Just remember that there was a choice to make in the end, and it isn't really cut and dry as we all think.

Even though this song is associated with Phoenix, I first thought it was one of Kristoph's when I first heard it. For me, the song is just so dark and tragic... What Phoenix says when confronted with Kristoph's five black Psyche-Locks (when asked why he killed Zak/Shadi Smith) sums up the song for me: "Dark... Cold... Full of despair..." Kristoph's motive was more complex than hurt pride. His façade hid profound sorrow and anguish. Kristoph's motive, like his heart, was shrouded in darkness.
