Honestly you take a look at the things people like Miley Cyrus do on stage and you think, people actually thought Alice Cooper was corrupting the youth of america
When I was about 10 years old, his albums were on my Christmas wish list! I can't believe my parents, who were older than most of my other friend's parents, bought me all that was available! I was thrilled and felt so cool.
Haha yeah I got Marilyn Manson for Christmas when I was like 13 or 14. I was surprised they got that for me. Not something I would ask for these days. Was never a big Manson fan but I was on the bandwagon. He was popular at the time so I asked for it. Kids trying to fit in I guess.
Melonee Murray, having older parents, who, at the time, had no clue worked in your favor. Kudos to you! 👏🏼 In my opinion, parents probably thought Alice Cooper was some ugly woman who had an ugly voice.
Plus he's got a great personality. He DJs for kslx in Arizona weeknights and he is one funny Mother f*****! Also obviously knows an incredible amount of rock trivia and stories from his personal days in the scene. He's now quite involved with his church and really seemed to be enjoying life. Let's all give a shout out to Alice today.
Technically, they called Alice "Theatrical Rock" because all of his early shows were like watching a bizarre kind of movie. I saw both Billion Dollar Babies and Welcome to my Nightmare tours and they were like nothing you see anymore. Hard charging rock, and great entertainment. He is one of my all time favourites.
fell in love with the coop in 1971, as a 7 year old I had good taste in music even then! His shows are the best ever. He puts his heart and soul into giving the audience their moneys worth which is something some of the artists these days need to learn a lesson in...sorry, sound like an old biddy, grump over....lol my first concert was flush the fashion
@@JosephGross Ya most likely, or just, "The 70s." Which peaks my interest even more because I bet they are going to have an 80s episode coming up real soon if this time travel thing keeps the track it's going.
Great song! Loved it in '73 when I first heard it on "Billion Dollar Babies" and still it. Love Alice Cooper! A great rock 'n' roll showman and singer-songwriter!
this song just got a boost from agents of shield, let the flock start coming in the comment section......... but seriously what year are they in, i guessing this is the 70s right?
Being a fan of metal/hard rock brought me here. I was the weird kid in a small South Georgia country town that listened to this growing up. I still love it today
This music will always remind me of my brothers. They blared Alice, AC/DC, Bob Segar, all of the greats when I was a kid. Forever grateful for my rock education ❤
I used to be such a sweet, sweet thing 'Til they got a hold of me. I opened doors for little old ladies, I helped the blind to see. I got no friends 'cause they read the papers. They can't be seen with me and I'm gettin' real shot down And I'm feeling mean. No more Mister Nice Guy, No more Mister Clean, No more Mister Nice Guy, They say he's sick, he's obscene. I got no friends 'cause they read the papers. They can't be seen with me and I'm feelin' real shot down And I'm gettin' mean. No more Mister Nice Guy, No more Mister Clean, No more Mister Nice Guy, They say he's sick, he's obscene. My dog bit me on the leg today. My cat clawed my eyes. Ma's been thrown out of the social circle, And dad has to hide. I went to church incognito. When everybody rose, the Reverend Smith, He recognized me, And punched me in the nose, he said. No more Mister Nice Guy, No more Mister Clean, No more Mister Nice Guy, He said you're sick, you're obscene. No more Mister Nice Guy, No more Mister Clean, No more Mister Nice Guy, He said you're sick, you're obscene.
Really liked Alice and saw the band at least three times in the 70's. My dad didn't approve at all, but let me go with friends. A lot of people went around singing "School's Out FOREVER" in my high school as loud as they could. Great times and memories.
My parents always listened to Alice, great entertainment and music, I grew up on this. People beat him up over his theatrics. Too bad about the chicken, but, things happen every day. Maybe he fed a family with it?! He seems humble, yes Mr. Nice guy!!
seen them a short while back in springfield,il right before halloween and i gotta tell ya,this guy has a show that is out of this world.folks,if you have never seen alice cooper, then get your tics because you wont regret it!!
Lois: Mayor West, what are you doing here? Adam: I'm being a rascal and ringing people's doorbells and running away Lois: Than why are you still here? Adam: This is my first house, I'm not very good
They took him to court over the song Dead Babies, when the words to the song was read to the judge he threw it out of court. It is a song about kids having access to poisons in the home. Which back then it was at epidemic levels!
another great performance by one of the all-time greats in rock music that still perform to this very day. you may sound worse now that you're past your prime Alice but your music will never get dull.
How you know he's past his prime? Only he knows that and I heard him say he's going to steam some carpets the other nite. Sounds like a young stallion to me.
@@TheodoreHuckstable-lb1uy Alice Cooper was one of the Rock Musicians that were reinventing the wheel of Rock Music in the 70's and 80's so if he was young then he may as well be past his prime now.
Alice Cooper was the best at expressing teen angst during the sixties. It is a little superficial, but, actually, teens had it pretty good during the sixties.
