Discussing some of the more intricate design details I've noticed in my van.
First is the door cards. The different materials, the textures and feel and then how well everything has aged.
Next the interior colours which contrast beautifully against each other. From the light brown velour fabric, to the dark textured brown dash and control surfaces. Then the light brown tan headliner and the beige upper pillar trim pieces and again, its all aged beautifully together.
Third is the three tone paint. Most people assume these are two tone but they have three external paint colours. Different models then get either black or painted trim pieces. And then very purposeful scatterings of brightwork.
Lastly, the badging. The Super Custom badge has been designed to look like jewellery. And there is no badge that says Toyota on the van except for the rear mudflaps only.

I wasn't the best.. for instance at 3:11 it sounds like you say 'at 45 years alter' rather than 'at 25 years later'. Customs are classics, not Antique (yet)

You are very observant Nathan. Easy to tell how much you love your Hiace. Same goes for me. They are a special vehicle.

Love it mate. Keep your content coming - every time I see one of your vids, I just want to go drive my rig! We got a freak cold spell right now in Vancouver and they salted the shit out of the roads - my Hiace was covered with road salt, so I meticulously washed it off. Pains me to drive it in such conditions. Do you ever take your Hiace offroad?

I can understand about the salt. Mines very low, twice I took it moderately off road. First time the subframe and radiator got clogged with mud and sand and started running hot. Second time 2 feet into a track it hit a rock that wasn't even tall so I went home 😒

@@nathansharma87 I hear ya. The lift kit from Roamer (they’re in Seattle, but I’m sure they’d ship to Oz or maybe you can find something similar over there) is great for that. I’ve got one on mine and it gives you over 2” (6cm) of lift sometimes even more for the Super Custom. I also put a clean air intake (snorkel) on my rig, and mate I so recommend that. I travel lots of forest service roads and the desert, and my air filter is WAY cleaner. Definitely helps.👍🏼
