4000 years ago ancient Mongols first time domesticated horses and because of horse business they invented first trousers/pants for better horse riding uses more than 3000 years ago. Russian genetics institute proved in late 1990s that all world horse breeds genetics origin traced back to Mongolian horse, which is crazy sweet fact for us.

true modernity doesn't have to eliminate tradition. it should be recalled however for a long time the mongol tradition was rape, theft and murder. only when sedentary people better organized and equipped themselves with better military hardware were the mongols stopped from their "tradition". it is lovely country not unlike the western US or Canada

Many Mongolian tribes started out as herders and warriors who battled over territory and disputed in plenty of bloodshed prior to them invading other parts of Asia, Europe, and Africa.

true about the inter-tribal warfare however they carried their violence to the next level under Genghis Khan engaging in outright genocide and mass slaughter killing men, women and children without batting an eye. historical records say after the fall of a city every soldier was given a quota of people to murder which not even the Nazis did.

i know many Europeans talks about Mongolian horse like pony. however im not agree with that because Mongolian horse is much stronger than European horse. Back in the day Mongolian horses left their foot print in Europe. European horses never made to Asia even to Mongolia but Mongolian horses made it all the way to Europe.

And any western or other viewer should not get naive information on Mongolia solely on agriculture, not fair! As of today Mongolias cell phone penetration is 138% or 4.2 million cellphone accounts for 3 million total population, 92% of all local municipals have optic internet connection which is far better achievement than Australia, Canada or USA in this sector, expected wind energy farms will reach 10% total production in next 10 years on top of multiple mass solar energy farms projects undergoing, land line internet connection in Mongolia is half million but 3G connected internet has 0.9 million users. In the capital city there are 340 000 cars for 1.2 million residents. We are evolving-progressing faster than some Silicone Valley companies in truth. If you do not believe just dig little deeper on Mongolian news sources and can verify my post!
