The Arcimoto SRK is a three-wheeled, two-seater electric vehicle made in Eugene, Oregon. We traveled to the Emerald City to give the SRK a whirl on home turf, as well as talk to the company’s founder, Mark Frohnmayer.

Scooby Snacks Solar panels aren’t efficient enough for now.

What an amazing vehicle. to make it 100% perfect..... add a 22 cc petrol motor with a one gallon tank. , just to charge the battery, then the distance can be upto 1000 miles on the gallon. and add a solar panel on roof to run the lights, horn, a radio etc... then I would buy a few..

Big Yes on the ranger extender idea. However this could easily require re writing the softwhare I am afraid. Me at 68+ yrs old, I can only re write my name reliably, not software. I am hoping to adapt the small red Honds suit case 2,ooo watt inverter generator to be easily mounted/removed from the shelf over the rear wheel and be a range extender for my FUV. My SRK - FUV has been on order about a year now. I am patiently waiting for delivery. And after I receive my FUV I probably will post a uTube vid at uTubeGlennAR every week or so in order to share the fun of ownership with others.......

so in comparison, Mitsubishi I-MIEV Goes 60ish miles, has a 49Kw motor and 14 Kw battery system for $22,000. SRK has a 11Kw Battery and 70 mile range. I'm not seeing a huge amount of efficiency difference here. (I own a I-Miev so that's y i picked it.) Now Zero S motorcycle weights 1/2 (408 lbs) of SRK, has a 11Kwh battery and goes 100miles at 70mph. (Arcimoto SRK (im guessing) is probably like Mistubishi that base miles on city and highway together not 70mph and with 1 person) Now motorcycles are bricks for aerodynamics. I think SRK should be able to do better.

The only way I think you will survive around other cars is the fact that it's something entirely new and nothing like you've seen before and it's bound to attract a lot of attention.

This would be a Great way for me to get around. I am a Disable Vet that Lives in Easley SC. I travel 3 Miles to my kidney Dialysis. This would be a great thing for me because it is so easy to get in and out of..I wish I could afford one and I Know everyone that saw me would want want one. All the Places I go are 5 miles or so from me. Do you ever get into Bulding other Inventions? I think of great things while I am Sleeping. I know they are great ideas and Everyone would want them world wide. I need to find some one that is willing to Build them and Sell them world wide. lets Chat

For $7700 I can buy an fully enclosed ZEV Electric trike (the 5 door one with the hatch rear) with 80 mile range and a heater, windshield wipers, etc. I want one with the 100 mile range option, still less than an Arcimoto

For $11,000 what's the incentive? I can buy a far more sensible Nissan Versa sedan that will comfortably seat four, possibly five with an exceptionally good cargo capacity, a well-engineered structure for safety, fully enclosed ride, much more capable drivetrain and it already has a sound system, Bluetooth capabilities for hands free and is fairly economical. Or I can still buy a used car and get off with much more car for the money.

+Darren Persad If you're regularly shclepping five people around, this may not be the thing for you, but if you want to park anywhere, have an awesome ride experience, and stop buying gas to get groceries, the SRK's a solid choice.

botifigus At that point, if you want cool or fun, just buy an older MX-5 or older MR-2 which won't be that different in price, but has infinitely more versatility in addition to the fun factor.

Detractors forget their suggestions are GAS powered, this is electric. Of course not for everyone, but for retirees like me who make short trips for errands, appointments etc. small parking place, it's ideal.
