The difference in yolk color has to do with the diet of the birds. If you get pasture raised chicken eggs, they are orange. That's because they don't eat just grain, they eat grass seeds and grasses, bugs, etc., a more natural diet, not dictated by man. They are healthier!

I have reversed type 2 diabetes and off all the medication for diabetes and hypertension. Thanks mainly to unprocessed food. Mainly animal based. I am working in nephrology clinic, and I have seen patients who switched to plant based diet reduced the deterioration of markers for CKD. Plant-based diets come with their own challenges: Anti-nutrients. Examples include: Glucosinolates/goitrogens can prevent the absorption of iodine, which may then interfere with thyroid function. Lectins in legumes, whole grains-can interfere with the absorption of calcium, iron, phosphorus, and zinc. Oxalates can bind to calcium and prevent it from being absorbed. Phytates (phytic acid) can decrease the absorption of iron, zinc, magnesium, and calcium. Saponins can interfere with normal nutrient absorption. Tannins can decrease iron absorption. It makes it very difficult, to not only know, what to eat, but how much and when to eat it. And, what can be combined with what! I've decided, at this point in my life, to eat a balanced diet and stay away from processed and sugar-laden items.
@lucez205
@lucez205 4 месяца назад
I think I just give up. After watching this and many other podcasts on what is good and what is bad for us and what interacts with what and like you mentioned the iron and tannin and so on, it is just getting pathetic. I think a good start would be to stay away from processed foods, sugars, and seed oils as much as possible and use everything else in moderation. That way you are not putting all your money in one account should the worst happen. I think that in short term each diet might be beneficial if that's what ppl decide to do but long term might not be sustainable. Good to do own bloodwork at least to check for basic levels but that's about it. Ppl will get sick by stressing out what they can and cannot eat.

I was eating three egg whites almost daily, fried in olive oil with fried onions and bell pepper and some fajita seasoning...sometimes on toast, sometimes on a salad. But in that time my kidney function jumped 25 points from and EGFR of 59 to an EGFR of 84. My creatinine went from 1.1 to .9. This was in a 6 month period. The next 6 months (after I got the all clear) I slacked up and ate more red meat...my cholesterol went high and my EGFR dropped to 73. So I am going back to my old way of eating that included eggs and cheese (not the highly processed stuff...real cheese) but I limited milk to almond milk unsweetened.

Hello, I have: CKD-3b, Diabetes Type-2, Insulin dependent, hypertension, and fairly overweight in my female gender as I am 71 years old. I strongly am curious about Mediterranean diet, vegetarian diet, and vegan diet. I drink almond milk, fresh filtered water, herbal teas and decaffeinated Japanese green teas only. I don’t drink any coffees, caffeinated teas, cow’s milk, wines, and any alcohol beverages but I don’t smoke nor weeds but not vaping however I don’t use any of illegal drugs. Eggs are a prime source of nutrition. Especially if you eat a plant-based diet. If you avoid processed foods and soda, that's the first thing you can do for your body. Second, never use sugar. Only fruit occasionally, but beware of fructose. Use only virgin olive oil with high polyphenol content along with long chain EFA omega 3 fatty acids. Short chain plant based omega 3 is also good as it can compete with the precursor of sc EFA omega 6. In such a diet, you can safely consume eggs daily.❤

Always diet 7up, coffee, tea, milk, buttermilk. He only died, because he fell and hit his head. He'd probably still be alive. Then take my 60-year-old dad who has smoked since he was 16, has diabetes, eats the same kinda stuff as grandpa (maybe a bit better variety), drinks more water, but he's getting cataracts and diabetic retinopathy. it is very confusing. A few years back I had high blood sugar. A1c of 9.5 and I got it down to 5.1 in six months by a diet of high fat high protean very low carbs. I lost 70lbs. I am hesitant to change my diet because it's working for me, but I would rather avoid kidney trouble than treat it. I eat a fair amount of red meat. And I use a fair amount of salt. Vegan diets don't work for me because I simply won't stay on them. I get hungry on them. Hunger is my enemy. I'm trying to tweak my diet to be better for my kidneys without messing everything else up.

I did NOT find anything confusing about anything said by either the doctor or the nutritionist. There was just a great deal of information given. Excellent video. And thank you very much. So many options can be confusing if a person isn’t familiar with the terms, also because of the diversity and making choices (as everything in this area has so many + and - ‘s) the average lay person can have their head spinning. Point being Do not be afraid to make the best choices for yourself that you can, try it out and see how it works for you and if it doesn’t try an alternative choice. Final thought, try reading all about all suggested good for you foods and their nutritional aspects. It’s a fun thing to do when you know that what you are reading is of serious value and help to the body you are housed it. Good luck and Happy Voyage in actually Helping Your Own Body.🙏🏼🤗👋
