Ken Yates of the Grace Evangelical Society looks at the question of whether we can determine whether a doctrine is true by looking at how popular such a doctrine is. In particular Ken looks at whether the popularity of Dispensationalism or Free Grace, determines whether these doctrines are true or not. Ken ultimately points us to the true test of truth, the Bible.

Earlier I was thinking that, perhaps, Free Grace is less accepted than other doctrines, because other doctrines are work-based, and works are linked to pride (good works, that is). So, having to renounce works as a means of Salvation, also means to let go of whatever amount of pride we have in us with regard to what happens to us in the Afterlife. As a Catholic after looking at both Lordship Salvation (LS for short) and Free Grace (FG for short) and, then compared both, the following are my summary. Let me know if I made mistake: 1. LS believe justification is by faith alone but salvation is by faith that is NOT alone. FG believe both justification and salvation are by faith alone. 2. LS believe true faith will inevitably produce works of obedience. FG believe works of obedience is NOT condition/requirement for salvation but only show our discipleship with Christ. According to FG works of obedience is justification by works before men, not before God. 3. LS believe true believers will continue sinning but they will persevere to the end, that is, they will always repent and turn back to God. LS believe faith and repentance always come together or inseparable and both are condition/requirement of salvation. FG believe believers will continue sinning but FG believe neither they have license to sin nor repentance is condition/requirement of salvation. According to FG: (1) believer's sins will affect their rewards in heaven, not their salvation; (2) to repent is to rediscover our direction and to experience true “life” in harmony with our Maker as we are in fellowship with Him.

@justfromcatholic - To compare and contrast LS from FG is best done by simply saying your have to have works or you are NOT saved. These beliefs are mutually exclusive and are not found in both LS and FG camps.

"A Response to the Cheap Grace Charge" July 24, 2019 by Bob Wilkin faithalone.org/blog/a-response-to-the-cheap-grace-charge/ I received the following question about a blog post one of our readers saw: I was wondering if GES has a response to this post I recently saw on Facebook: Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the great German pastor, theologian, martyr, spy was asked in 1943 how it was possible for the Church to sit back and let Hitler seize absolute power. His firm answer: “It was the teaching of cheap grace.” “Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ.” We live in a time and culture that not only teaches cheap grace but praises it. I found that post. You can read it here. It is by someone who calls himself Theist Thug Life (TTL). Note that TTL states his own opinions in the opening and closing sentences. First, let’s consider what TTL says. Was Bonhoeffer a martyr for Christianity? That is what TTL means. I’d say no. I’d say he was a martyr for the resistance movement: In October 1940, Dietrich Bonhoeffer began work as an agent for Military Intelligence, supposedly using his ecumenical contacts to help the cause of the Reich. In reality, he used his contacts to spread information about the resistance movement. In trips to Italy, Switzerland, and Scandinavia in 1941 and 1942, he informed them of resistance activities and tried, in turn, to gain foreign support for the German resistance. (For the full story, see here.) He was indeed, as TTL says, a spy. He was working against the Nazi government to bring it down. I just preached on Rom 13:1-7 this past Sunday. While preparing for the sermon, I found that pastors like John Piper and John MacArthur pointed out that Paul gives no room for resisting one’s government. Yes, if the government commands citizens to violate God’s commands, then we disobey (Daniel 3, 6; Acts 5:29). But if the government is corrupt, we are not free to seek to overthrow it. Piper and MacArthur point out that even the American Revolution violated Rom 13:1-7. I was taught at Dallas Theological Seminary that pastors and theologians are to be non-political. While we should exercise our right to vote, we do not use our ministries to tell people whom to vote for. Nor do we use our ministries to try to overthrow our mayor, governor, President, and other elected officials. To do so would be to violate Rom 13:1-7. Paul says, “There is no authority except from God…” (Rom 13:1). Does that include Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, and Mao? Yes. “Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves” (Rom 13:2). Might it be that Bonhoeffer was executed because he resisted the ordinance of God? That is how I read Rom 13:2. TTL ends by saying, “We live in a time and culture that not only teaches cheap grace but praises it.” I don’t think he is correct. Whether we use Bonhoeffer’s definition of cheap grace, or that of others today, very few in Evangelicalism proclaim that message today. Second, let’s consider what Bonhoeffer wrote. Does God’s Word teach forgiveness without repentance? Not on an interpersonal level (Matt 18:21-35). But God forgives us all our trespasses in a positional sense the moment we believe in Jesus (Col 2:13). Even as believers, if we are walking in fellowship with God, then the condition for fellowship forgiveness is confessing our sins, not repentance (1 John 1:9). Only when we are in the spiritual far country must we repent to be forgiven (Luke 15:1-32). Does the Bible teach that baptism should be linked with church discipline? Bonhoeffer came from a tradition which sees salvation beginning with baptism, typically infant baptism. So, his point is that saved people should be subject to church discipline. That is correct (1 Cor 5:5, 9-11), though of course no one is born again by baptism. Regeneration occurs when we believe in Christ for everlasting life. Does the Bible teach “communion without confession”? It depends on how we understand 1 Cor 11:28, “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” I do not think that refers to confession of sins. In context Paul is asking the believers in Corinth to examine their own attitude toward the Lord’s Supper. If they view it as a regular meal, then they may get sick or even die (1 Cor 11:30). If they view it as a holy meal, a time to reflect on Jesus’ death on our behalf, then they have the right attitude. Are we not to keep short accounts with God (1 John 1:9)? We are not to wait from one time we take communion to the next before we confess our sins. What about “grace without discipleship”? Must we follow Christ in order to be born again and in order to retain our salvation? That is what Bonhoeffer is saying. But he is quite wrong. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear that we have been saved by grace through faith and apart from works. Discipleship is a work, a lot of work. What about “grace without the cross”? Bonhoeffer does not mean grace without Christ’s dying on the cross for our sins. He means grace without our taking up our own crosses and suffering for Christ. That is Lordship Salvation or works salvation. I’m not sure what he means by “grace without Jesus Christ.” Most likely he means salvation apart from following Christ’s example. Dr. Charles Stanley was asked about cheap grace. In a message called, “The High Cost of God’s Grace,” Stanley says, “Grace is free, but it’s not cheap. It cost God His Son, and yet He gives it to us freely” (see here). Cheap wrongly implies we buy our own salvation at a steep discount. But as Stanley says, it is free to us, not cheap. But for God it was not cheap, rather the greatest price paid in history. I agree. Everlasting life is a free gift given to all who simply believe in Jesus. There is no other condition. Those who add additional conditions are trying to improve on God’s Word. They think that the quality of people in our churches is low. They are convinced God wants church people to live holier lives than they are living. So their solution is to make it harder to get into the church. Raise the bar. Raise the entrance requirements. Is it godly to teach man-made doctrines which contradict God’s Word? No. No matter how reasonable a preacher might sound, if what he is saying contradicts God’s Word, then we should reject his message.

Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? Does God want a return to the Old Covenant system during a future time period? (Heb. 8:6-13) Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ? (Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30) The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations? 1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? (See Paul’s interpretation in Galatians 3:8, 3:16.) 2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ? 3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds? 4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh? 5. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers? 6. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"? 7. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost? 8. Based on Hebrews 9:15, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.) 9. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? 10. Watch the RU-vid video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church. Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church: “The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.” Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107. Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne,’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.” Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323. John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated… "...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.” John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.) What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16? (See what Joshua said about the Old Covenant land promise in Josh. 21:43.) Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth? Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups? Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and is it fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 12:18-24? Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church, if the New Covenant is “everlasting” in Hebrews 13:20? (See also 2 Thess. 1:7-10) If the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant “obsolete” in Hebrews 8:6-13, why would God go back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period? Read the recent book "The Rise and Fall of Dispensationalism", by Daniel G. Hummel.

This free grace and dispensationalism usually ignore Matthew 28:20. Jesus said: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen Dispensationalism usually only read Paul letters and just a little bit of the 4 Gospels. We must observe Jesus teaching and obeying it. Paul said in 1 Timothy 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, Paul never said Jesus teaching only last 3 years and now it is my personal Gospel you must obey. God manifested in the flesh according to Isaiah 9:6. It’s a prophecy. Read that. God manifested in the flesh to take away the sins of the world. Every single person that has ever lived God provided the forgiveness of sins but everyone is not saved. Eternal life is to know the one true God but in order to know him, one must be resurrected from the dead. By faith in christ jesus, one receives the forgiveness of sins which is the inheritance in Christ Jesus but also the Holy spirit. Adam and eve when they sinned in the garden they lost the Holy spirit which brought sin and death into the world. The solution to that problem is the Gospel, the Gospel, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

@@monicadhaliwal1791 Yes, you receive the gift of Salvation by grace through faith alone. The word of God is very clear on this. However, there are consequences for our sins after being saved. One who commits sins after being saved will lose rewards in present life and in heaven. Also, Hebrews 12:6-7 NKJV states For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten. The scripture is abundantly clearly that once you are saved you cannot lose your salvation.

Ken, the MAIN error of Dispensationalism is the erroneous dichotomy which you stated regarding a "Literal" interpretation vs and "Allegorical" interpretation. The biblical interpretation is Earthly/Natural vs Heavenly Spiritual fulfillments BOTH Literal! Paul tells us this clearly in 1 Corinthians 15 when he tells of of Adam the "earthly" man and Jesus the "heavenly" man, both literal. "The spiritual does not come first, but the natural, THEN the spiritual." God took an earthly people (Israel after the flesh) Made them earthly promises (Land Seed Blessing) If they obeyed an earthly covenant (If a man DOES these things he will live) But God warned them that if they disobeyed, they would LOSE the blessings (Deuteronomy 28) God FULFILLED ALL of the earthly promises (Nehemiah 9) "Not ONE failed" said Joshua 21:45. But they DID disobey and the blessings were removed (Jeremiah 17:4) They were removed out of the land and David's EARTHLY throne was "cast to the ground" (Psalm 89) Jerusalem BELOW is in bondage (Galatians 4) But God sent His "servant" (Jesus) the TRUE Israel (Isaiah 49:3) to fulfill the ULTIMATE promise that He would restore "the remnant of Jacob" (Israel) AND the gentiles. (which He DID, by the GOSPEL, through the SPIRIT) (see Acts 2 (Jews from every nation under heaven) and Acts 10 (Gentiles receiving the Holy Spirit)) THIS WAS the restoration promised by God, by the TRUE SPIRITUAL Israel of God ( Jesus). THIS was the "Reality" as Hebrews tells us, which is better than the "Shadows" (earthly promises) We HAVE come to the HEAVENLY Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22) Circumcision was supposed to be an "everlasting covenant" so did God lie? No! The TRUE ultimate fulfillment is NOT earthly, but SPIRITUAL, a circumcision done "Without Hands" by the Holy Spirit! Ephesians 2 is clear, God took the REMNANT of earthly Israel (see Isaiah 1:9, Romans 9:29 and Isaiah 49 ) and grafted gentiles into THEM. God has ONE "Household," which is the Church (1 Timothy 3:15) And Ephesians 2 tells us that the gentiles are NOW part of God's household and heirs with Israel. To summarize: Old Covenant NEW Covenant Israel after the flesh Israel OF GOD (by faith) Jerusalem BELOW Jerusalem ABOVE Physical circumcision Spiritual Circumcision Earthly Throne (cast to the ground) Heavenly Throne (Jesus IS on the Throne. Hebrews 1:8, 8:1,) Reigning NOW (1 Corinthians 15:25) (The Sure Mercies of David FULFILLED (Acts 13)) Earthly Enemies (physical) Spiritual Enemies (sin and death) (See Luke 1:76-79, Luke 4) Dispensationalism is looking for the fulfillment of earthly/natural promises (shadows) But they WERE fulfilled and lost! The "Better promises" Hebrews tells us) ARE HERE, IN CHRIST! Jesus IS the SEED (singular) that the promises were made to! "ALL of God's promises in Christ are Yes and Amen!"

Obedience is required by God for Salvation. The false church denies the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver us from sin. False ministers deny the power of the Holy Spirit to transform us to righteousness. They teach that the spirit will struggle with the flesh until we die, and that there is no remedy for this condition. In truth, we do not have both the Holy Spirit and the flesh nature. We only have one or the other. Jesus wins the battle for us when we are Born Again. Scripture says: Colossians 2:11 "In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ." Jesus cuts away the flesh when we receive the Holy Spirit, and we lose sinful desires. The Apostle Paul tells us this: Galatians 5:24 "And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." We dont have both the Holy Spirit and the flesh nature. Scripture tells us so: Romans 8:9 "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you." Everyone who dies while still in their flesh has not been born again. Scripture tells us that sinning Christians are guaranteed to end up in hell: Romans 8:13 "For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." Jesus only gives the Holy Spirit to those who are obedient. Scripture tells us so: Acts 5:32 "We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” The Apostle John who was taught by Jesus face to face agrees with these things. 1 John 3:9 "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." God’s grace does not free us to sin. It frees us from sin. Jude 1:24 confirms this. "To him (Jesus) who is able to keep you from stumbling (Sinning) and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy" Romans 6:18 also says: "You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." Sinning Christians have not been saved. Anyone who dies while still in their flesh is guaranteed for eternal damnation. Christians who deny the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver us from the bondage of sin and it's desires reject the Word of God. When Christians reject the Word Of God, he will reject them. Belittling the power of the Holy Spirit is mockery of the Holy Spirit and this is blasphemy.

I would hope that your organization would go one step further in realizing that the revelation of the mystery (outlined in Eph 1-3) was the message given to Paul, our apostle, for us today. Understanding that John the Baptist, Jesus, Peter and the other eleven apostles taught the gospel of the kingdom on earth to Israel, not us gentiles is in my opinion is one of the most important distinctions that a Christian can hold. That's the jist of right division. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are not doctrines for us today. They are historical books telling of Jesus' promised coming to Israel. I'm not saying to ignore them, but the doctrines therein are mostly not for us today. For example, salvation in this dispensation is found in 1 Cor 15:1-4 not in John 3:16. Did you notice that John 3:16 does not refer to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ? These are the three things that our apostle Paul says are the essentials of the faith. Paul says that we follow him and the teaching of the gospel of Christ given to him for us by Jesus. Do you think Jesus would be unhappy with Paul if he said this if were not true? He even says that those who teach any other gospel other than what he was given for us that they should be accursed. In keeping with the subject of this video, just because most Christians don't believe this to be true, does not make it wrong. Study your Bible!

Well, it's not like you guys are wrong on everything, but you are wrong by saying that a person who is willingly living in sin can enter The Kingdom of God. "I believe that Jesus died for me and bore my sin on the cross! Thanks for the salvation, God! Let's party on, woohoo!!!!" Yes, it can be that person is an immature, baby Christian, or a Dead Sea Christian who started at -12 when he came to Christ and now he is at +2 on the scale of righteousness, or just mentally imbalance, etc. But in general, on average, a person cannot go to heaven if he continue to live a sinful lifestyle so willingly.

Grace is given for obedience to the faith (Romans 1:5). Faith come by hearning and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). We must do the works of faith. " And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." (Rev 20:12). "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." (Rev 20:13).

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. No works for salvation! Works comes after salvation, and you only have good works because of the Holy Ghost. If the Holy Ghost in not in a person they will never have good works.

You skipped the verse that mentions the reason that all who end up in the lake of fire are there : "Rev. 20:15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." The only cause is unbelief (John 3:18) which underscores the Reason one's name isn't in the Book of Life (Rev. 20:15) . P.O. Box 1308, Denton, TX 76202 The Final Judgment October 7, 2016 by GES Webmaster in Blog - Bob Wilkin, Final Judgment, Propitiation, Sin, Universal Atonement by Zane Hodges In John’s well-known description of the Final Judgment in Revelation 20:11-14, we do not even find a reference to sins, much less a reference to unforgiven sins. Instead, we are told, “the dead were judged acording to theirworks, by the things which were written in the books” (Rev 20:12; italics added). To be sure, the works of unsaved people contain innumerable sins, but it is still significant that sin per se is not referred to, as we will point out in a moment. Yet even though unsaved people are judged on the basis of their works,they are not condemned to hell on that basis! On the contrary we read, “Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15; italics added). People go to hell, therefore, because they do not have life! This is precisely what we might have concluded from the theme statement of the Fourth Gospel: “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31; italics added). It is also evident in John 5:24 where our Lord states that the believer “shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (italics added). We conclude, therefore, that the possession oflife is the critical issue between God and man in terms of eternal judgment. There is no Final Judgment to determine one’s eternal destiny if he already possesses life. But sin is not the critical issue. Why not? John’s own writings tell us why. According to John, Jesus is “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29); and “He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world” (1 John 2:2). The hymn writer was correct when he said that “Jesus paid it all”! So marvelously complete and full is the sacrificial death of Christ for our sins that God’s justice is satisfied by that sacrifice and no man is condemned to hell on the grounds of his sins. But by the same token, the cross of Christ does not automatically regenerate men and women. They still need to obtainlife and this is available to them on one basis only: faith in Christ. But then, one might ask, why do men’s works come up at all? The reason must surely be that at the Final Judgment mankind will get a full and fair hearing. Since multitudes have supposed that they can reach heaven by their works, these works will be examined on that day. But as Scripture already informs us, no man can be saved by his works (Eph 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Rom 3:20). The outcome of the final examination of the works of the lost is a foregone conclusion. Any claim to God’s salvation that is based on the deeds a person has done will be swept away by the contents of the books that are opened at the judgment. Man’s one last hope will rest in the Book of Life, which will be duly consulted even though those being judged do not have their names written there. But the absence of their names from its pages is the basis on which the lost are cast into the lake of fire. Thus one can see that the issue at the Final Judgment is not man’s sin, since Christ has atoned for that in its entirety. Instead, the issue is whether someone can make it into the kingdom of God on the basis of the works they did on earth, apart from the miracle of new birth that comes by faith alone. But as the Lord Jesus informed Nicodemus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Why not post my earlier comment for everyone to see? Is it because you suppress the truth in unrighteousness? Think hard about this question: why does Paul call our heavenly inheritance a REWARD (Col 3:24)?
@karent743
@karent743 8 месяцев назад
Paul was writing to believers, already saved and have a place in the Kingdom. He was telling them to live for the Lord and do their works for the Lord and that by doing so they would receive the reward of inheritance in the Kingdom. In other words privileges in the Kingdom. Next verse says those who do wrong will receive wrong for what they have done, which means they will receive nothing for those wrongs. Unbelievers won’t even be in the Kingdom to receive or not receive.

I’ve spent a TON of time reviewing the content that the GES provides and I certainly wouldn’t say they’ve suppressed any truths. They have materials of some type of just about every passage in the bible and I’ve found that they are consistently tackling tough questions, and expertly dismantling objections to the free grace theology.
