As an EXJW that was now convinced that the JW teachings were false, I asked myself that out of over 48000 Christian denominations which one will be correct. This led me to investigate, but I could not go to each and every church to findout, I studied the history of Christianity from the 1st Century up to the 1900s; during my study I realized that even in the 1st and the 2nd Century that there was no one kind of belief about this religion that later was known as Christianity. In the process I also learned about the history of the scriptures that are now in the Bible and those that were also cherished and read that are now rejected by both the Protestants and the Catholics. I learned that there was never an original scriptures, only copies of copies. The Coptic Bible consists of 81 scriptures, so is the Macedonian Orthodox Bible The Eastern Orthodox Bible consists of 74 scriptures The Catholic Bible and the Greek Orthodox consists of 73 scriptures The Protestant Bible consists of 66 scriptures. I was so amazed how the scriptures were chosen to be in or out of the Bible, including scriptures that were dearly believed and loved by the Church Fathers in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd centuries. This is how I concluded that if there is any truth that a God wants me to know he will have to let me know directly.

Sis, no lies detected about how long you can be in service. I was raised COGIC and we was in Sunday school, morning service, afternoon service, and sometimes we had to travel to different states for service. After I left COGIC, I went to a Holiness church and the pastor use to beat us down if we didn’t travel with him from church to church, telling us to choose church over our jobs, condemn us to hell if we didn’t tithe or take care of him. I went there for about 2 years and left because he was messing around with all the women and taking their money. Yep, they would beat you down in the pulpit as well. I attend nice non-denominational church where we are in service for ONE hour, no beating you down about tithe or offerings, and all about the community.

I am not a baptised Christian, but I couldn't belong to a denomination either, and then having to say ''I am a SDA'', or ''I am Baptist'', or ''I am Pentecostal'', or ''I am RC....'' And each are different from the other, and what you become is a set of denominational beliefs, a pedestal from which to say - despite some core similarities in Christ - ''I am saved... and all the rest are either cults or serving demons or lost.....''' and whatever else they say about each other. This is how I note all these large denominations as behaving towards each other.

My high school boyfriend invited me to a service on a Friday night. His family is Pentecostal Holiness. I had pants on when his mom picked me up. She was so mad 😂 I was embarrassed and scolded him for not telling me. And the stares I got 😩 I was raised between Baptist and AME Zion, so I didn’t know the rules. I remember the first time I got ready to go to the Kingdom Hall… my then boyfriend was disfellowshipped but wanted to go. I came downstairs with pants on and the same thing 😂 had to change. Boy these religions have so many rules!

AMEN Sister ! ! You hit the nail on the head at 19:25. Spending your entire life preparing for the END of your life and whatever afterlife hope. GENERATIONS of JWs have done just that, living unfulfilled, postponed lives; squandering entire lifetimes in the Watchtower hamster wheel, waiting for Watchtower’s predictions that never came true. I too believed in Watchtower’s claims, but also wondered, why can’t we be a little more balanced ? God created so many fascinating things to learn: music, sciences, arts, physics, exploration, geology, biology, space and the universe, crafts, biology, botany, zoology, etc, etc. Why can’t we spend a balanced amount of time learning about God and developing our talents, interests and passions instead of being made to feel guilty about attending endless time sucking religious meetings and activities ? ? Even if there is a heavenly or earthly paradise awaiting us in the future, this present life and it’s experiences will NEVER EVER happen again for us.

There is a certain peace and freedom in Christ that this world cannot give. When I left the JWs I went off the deep end. I dove head first into hedonism, became agnostic, a new ager, and finally a Luciferian. It all brought me nothing but misery, just like being a JW. But then Jesus called me out of that darkness, offered me his free gift of salvation, and my life has changed alot for the better. My husband and I had separated, and were physically apart in two different countries for two years during covid. God healed our marriage completely and we reconciled against all odds. He broke me free from my porn addiction that had crippled me since I was a teenager. JWs twist the truth of the gospel, but when you read Jesus words and accept his gift of life, its like going from living on hard mode to easy.

hello dear ladies....i enjoyed your discussion....it was an eye opener for me...dont forget having to inhale the aromas of the holiday dinners wafting around the neighborhood when you feel bad if you dream about a beautiful (turkey?) dinner that is not coming your way....having to look down upon the people with their beautiful seasonal decos on display....working people enjoying homes and family life....and you are supposed to work part time and share a small space with other sisters until someone can snag a bethelite, MS, or just any other brother if you truly feel the need to be married....competition amongst some of the sisters for these men could get ugly....of course this is not every sister...but it happens....usually having a close group of sisters together could be very enjoyable too....i still love the women who showed me love and friendship during my years of being a jw....however....i was enduring horrible circumstances many years ago....i went to my local elders who i loved dearly and thought they cared about me...a male neighbor had been harassing me and set his friends up to hassle me in the neighborhood....one brother was playing with my heart.....trying to get me and another sister to fight over him right in the KH....i realized he was immature and not adult enough to be a spiritual hubby....he was about 50 years old...scary!......also one of the brothers was married to someone else but trying to control my life as if i should submit to him...i was a mess, in tears, sobbing trying to get it all out....a bible and wt was pushed at me...not listening to me...telling me they were in a hurry...dumped me off in a hurry.....i was hoping to have a group of brothers appearing to have a pow wow with my neighbor to straighten him out, letting him know i have someone on my side etc....well...days went by....not a ....how are you doing? phone call! nothing...i waited....i felt so hurt and abandoned....i am still waiting ....(not!) for a howdy doo from my loving, caring, wonderful spiritual christian brothers! glad i did not hold my breath! its been about 10 years now.....i realized Jehovah set me free....He loves me....i did nothing wrong....i rarely see anyone from the cong....but when i mention what happened to anyone i might have contact with....i am treated like a df.....i know when the end does come i dont fear anything.....Jah knows everything! who is who! who does what! etc....i got my life back....but i truly regret giving the best years of my life .....from age 28 to approx....53 .....over to the liars and crooks who i thought were sincere worshippers of Jah....not prepping for my day to day and future in this system of things......but i am blessed....i know my needs are being met ....but i am disappointed in myself for getting involved and joining them.....all i truly wanted was to serve god in the way he sees fit....and of course i wanted to be blessed and receive his promised blessings.....i dont trust any organized religion anymore...that is a good thing for me....but i still believe in Jah, Jesus....and the HS....no one holds a patent or a copywrite on them.....thanks....be well...hope lady cee is always relaxing and enjoying coffee with bacon and eggs as often as she wishes.....☕🥓🥚

Are we leaving these faiths/cults and turning to the one and only true God. It doesn't matter as much if you leave a false faith and don't turn to the true faith and become born again. That is what the enemy wants -- to keep us in darkness, God bless you all. 2 Corinthians 4:1-7 kjv 1. Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2. But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. John 3:1-7 kjv 1. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2. The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

It’s not about the JW or other Churches; we have to take our time regardless of what’s expected in these places of worship. I think we’re all trying to fit in or feel important so we get caught up in the aiming to please so we can feel important. So we give money we don’t have, we give time we don’t have so we can stroke our own egos

Seven day Adventist, Latter day saints, Pentecostal Holiness, have a lot in common. After Jehovah's Witnesses I developed a keen interest in Religious philosophy and attended many Churches, and I found that every religion has a good, usually a god, and a bad usually the devil, but there are some like Unitarian Church which the members see themselves as activist, they believe that conservative political people are kind of like the devil whereas liberal people environmentalist are good, then I have attended Russian Orthodox which is a mix of Islam and Jewish faith, mostly singing and standing worship, then I have been to Synagogue where lessons are taught I tend to think that is a religion of brotherhood.

There were a lot of generalizing words used like -- never, always, all, everybody, etc. I don't know what church this woman attended, but it is not representative of all holiness/pentecostal churches. For example, they do not all meet for 3+ hours or all day. My church and most of the ones I visit meet 2 hours and that's it. The church that I attend reprimand or release musicians and other who engage in fornication or adultery. There are many instances that musicians, for example, have been released for womanizing. I have no idea where this woman attended church, but the majority of pentecostal churches that I attend have partnerships with HBCUs, have and educational sector, give college scholarships, have internships, and more. For those going into theology, they get degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, Azusa Pacific, and hold all types of jobs. Higher education in the pentecostal church is celebrated, advocated, and expected. The pentecostal church that I attended and others have winter, spring, and summer camps where nature and God's handiwork is celebrated. There are pentecostal churches all over the world who have come togehter, paid off their building... In certain denominations, you can not make up a name for a new church. Pentecostal churches have the same foundational orthodoxy, but are made up of hundreds of diverse denominations with their own cultures, behaviors, etc. There is no control -- you can come and go when you want, you can be on the usher board one week and change to the choir in another week without being shamed... It is up to you to be a person of integrity, but there are no rules that control what you do. Giving of your time, talent, and treasures are OPTIONAL and there are no burdens that you do not VOLUNTEER FOR; so there is no "heavy burden." What Pentecostals can't have a cup of coffe on a Saturday morning? What Pentecostal kids have to run track in a skirt? Frying chicken, getting hair done... all of these ARE SWEEPING GENERALIZATIONS that perpetuate stereotypes by attributing characteristics or behaviors to an entire group based on the actions or traits of a few churches she has attended. You can generalize the behaviors of Jehovah's Witnesses because there is only one group--there are no different denominations. These people do recordkeeping of the hours you work for the church, who you are, where you live, what church you go to, if you are in good standing. Pentecostal churches are diverse and varied. And then she ended on love? There are BILLIONS OF Christian songs about love... What is this woman talking about?

I think there's a difference between pentecostal and Jehovah's witnesses. If you say mormons and Jehovah's witnesses are a big different. There's a concloser than in a castle and general's witnesses.

JWs have it right with holding folks accountable… I don’t agree with the shunning but discipline of course. So even though the shunning is too much I will say they have it right to not allow all types of foolishness in the Church

from what i can gather this religion sounds very legalistic. also being called to ministry and not having an understanding of the ancient languages leads to lots of misunderstanding about what the bible really says. i have a pentecostal girlfriend that recently told me that some of their ministers didn't finish highschool let alone have any seminary education, shameful! this is about a relationship with Jesus Christ not joining a club, that's legalism. john 10:10 Jesus said i come to give life and in it abundant life. that's abundant life here and eternal life later. there is no more and more saved. read hebrews 10:14 to 10:19. Jesus does it all then we live in that knowledge. Isaiah 64:6 says all our righteous acts are as filthy rags. we don't work to make our selves saved.

Unlike your guest , I came from a very unloving jehovah's witnesses family, and the main reason I left is because I Never felt any brotherly love from my family and fellow Jehovah's witnesses ever.

There are absolutely no similarities between Jehovah's Witnesses and Pentecostal Holiness churches.

Yes, there are some similarities between the Pentecostal Church and Jehovah’s Witnesses, though they are distinct in their beliefs and practices. Here are a few points of comparison: 1. Bible-Based Teachings: Both groups emphasize the authority of the Bible and base their teachings on their interpretations of it. They prioritize Bible study and often encourage members to engage in regular scripture reading. 2. Evangelism and Outreach: Both Jehovah’s Witnesses and Pentecostals are known for their active efforts in evangelism. Jehovah’s Witnesses are particularly known for their door-to-door ministry, while Pentecostals often engage in various forms of outreach and mission work. 3. Expectation of a Second Coming: Both groups anticipate the Second Coming of Christ, though their understandings of what this entails and the events surrounding it differ significantly. 4. Separation from the World: Both Jehovah’s Witnesses and Pentecostals often encourage a degree of separation from the secular world. This can manifest in restrictions or guidelines regarding lifestyle, entertainment, and sometimes dress. 5. Strong Community: Both groups often have close-knit communities and place a strong emphasis on congregational support and involvement.

The two witnesses of rev 11:6 are given a tremendous amount of leeway. It's an unusual title isn't it.. Symbolising Gods representatives in the last days. The Existential crisis foretold in rev 11:18 & Job 38:22&23 ends well with God rescuing the earth and cooperative ones among mankind . Rev 11:10 provides a tool eliminating those who exchange gifts ..as they are opposers of Gods representatives . Google search reveals this practice had its origin in Persia..honoring their false God Mithras. Imprisoned on Patmos for his faith, John and his fellow Christian brothers would not have had anything to do with this custom. Xmas is of pagan roman origin ..we know..so that makes two good reasons to avoid it if we want to please the God of the bible. Two witnesses as it were.

For us who really love the Lord for what He has done for us, I cannot practice a double standard that is just offensive to me, you would have to know where i have come from as far as my life and the things I gave myself too. For me serving the Lord is an expression of the love that He has given to me, although I to am having issues with the Pentecostal church of which I am a part of. My issues are not of things that should not be but rather doctrinal issues, our little church is mostly older people and I do not think we have a double standard there, if it is it is covered very well. I live in a very small town of about 3,600 in the southern most edge of Alabama, Florida being just 10 miles south, our church is pretty conservative, you wont find stuff there that you would find in bigger cities where much compromise is. As for the holiness part ya not so much anymore most of the old dress standards are gone, I have pictures of record albums of what the old gospel singers used to look like and the standard they had in the 60s and early 70s but about the mid 70s all that changed and the so called holiness standard was abandoned, so here is the thing either the standard was right and the older generation had it right or it and they were wrong which I find hard to believe because also back then is when they claim that God was moving a lot in there services and now not so much. So abandoning the standard caused a sharp drop in the movement of the Lord in our services and the modern people are like we are not going back to that, yet they pine over the fact that God used to move and now not so much. My main issue with them centers on 1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. If that which is perfect is come is the completed word of God, where the 27 NT books were joined to the 39 OT books forming one full and complete book, then those things that were said would cease did cease when we got the completed word of God, making what is practiced today by Pentecostals no matter how sincere totally wrong. If you examine some of their doctrines you will find that they make allowances for things the word of God itself does not make allowance for, if you look at the UPC they are unitarian tongue talkers, how can God work through people who deny one of the most fundamental doctrines of all, the trinity? If you look at the blab it and grab it bunch again more Pentecostals you see whole bunch of wolves in sheep's clothing, all of these things point to a church that for me is not what it once was and should not be. Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. My last point is this, Jesus started His church and said even the gates of hell would not prevail against it, which means that His church has been in operation since the time He started it without fail, true believers all around the world. Any church or denomination that claims they are just restoring what Jesus started are boldface liars, as they are saying that Jesus church was prevailed against and must needs be restored.

OK, here is the thing. What I can see is, that the JW community is terribly divided. The unity they preach, doesn't exist. I know somebody, a baptised JW, mixing all kinds of crude conspiracy theories together with JW teaching. The person is very busy on telegram, like most JW. The persons opinions radicalised by time, now, that JW is even talking like a far right, calling "nazis" patriots. Can you imagine? No joke, that person still goes door to door, cart witnessing etc... Germany. How is the situation in US? I must admit, that person is the only one I know who got caught in that Q net. But you heard from Hamburg. Other JW also believe in conspiracies, but of a different kind.
