Hi guys... I couldn't resist. I had to get a Fireteam. In this video I unbox and share my first impressions of it. I also start doing some must do mods to get it BASH READY! watch and see what they are...
I’ve just finished a scratch build . Bought the unique Fireteam parts from Phil Calvert breakers and added parts from Scorched , CRCU , M2C , Hot Racing and Bigfoot all on the BLX chassis . Im using my NB4 Tx/Rx . Decided on using the Kraton hubs for that little bit wider stance . All in I’m about £500 so well pleased with the build 😁 Total beef cake for less than list price 👍
Bro thats sounds awsome...maybe I should have done that instead..oh well. The rig looks awsome bro...best one from arrma so far... not sure about the wheels though.🤔 6s backflip upgrade coming.
Great tips! Just subscribed! I hope you can demonstrate the stability on dirt with and without the AVC, since I'm thinking about that upgrade. The Fireteam is my first ARRMA, but I love the stability-control on my Traxxas cars. Also, some on RU-vid are now raving about using butyl-tape as an alternative to the shoe-goo and drywall tape approach. Any experience with that? Thanks!
Thx for the sub buddy👍I have stability control on all my rigs and like the fact I can alter the level of avc depending on terrain. I am finding this controllers avc is quite sensitive so I'm going to speak to spectrum to see how I can resolve it. I may have to do the first bash without avc. I've always done the shoe goo mod to all my new bodies. I does lengthen the body life. I never look forward to doing it as it takes ages and can be messy not to mention how expensive it is. May have a look at this butyl-tape method on the next body.👍
Yeah...got loads of hop ups on the car now inc backflips but still running 15t. I'm just concerned with temps on a 17t... I'm probably gona got to 16t first.
I picked up a 20t pinion for mine, haven’t installed it yet because the two screws were giving me trouble on the mount. Anyone else have issues with those two screws? None of my drivers fit the hex real snug so I put it off for now 😮
@@patrickbenninger6753 hi buddy. The only solution is to use a good quality hex driver and alot of heat to break the locktight. If the screw heads are stripped then you would have make a slit in the top using dremel and remove using a flat head screwdriver. Once removed replace them for the screw types I've used.
nice video dude , the bearings are the same ones as the exb so wont be any different if you swap them out , what i do reccomend though is the hot racing as they have a much larger inner bearing and they have an added bearing in the middle of the 2 outer ones
Hi Seb , I think it’s the Vitavon that has the extra bearing as I have some Hot Racing hubs and they only have the 2 bearings but as you said the inner one is deffo bigger . 👍
I just now ordered myself the black fireteam and can't wait to get it.. I Will also be doing some mods And upgrades before the first run like using washers on every single screw that I can and Rebuilding/shimming all the diffs..
Nice buddy. There's some crazy black Friday deals on the fireteam... well worth it. Mines been super fun. The washers defo helped the roof stay on... not so much on the other panels but everything is still intact. I've loved my fireteam. I've got lots of upgrade and running vids to help the community. Always available to help if you have any questions once you get it buddy 👍🙂
@@inspiredrc yep forsure.. Have you played around with the diffs yet? I will mostly be doing street bashing so I'll be putting 300k in center 20k in front and 10k in rear..
@@inspiredrc I'm kinda working with what I got atm.. Only got 10/20/300k.. But yah I already got A hobbywing esc and metal servo mount.. Will order the aluminum chassi braces and hing pin holders
Hi buddy. I tend to purchase extra screws from my local ironmongers to keep as spares if needed. I also try to buy parts with screws from rc breakers online. Some rc breakers also sell screws separately. Ebay a good place to look. I good tip is to spray the screw heads with wd40 to stop them from getting rusty.. it makes them last longer...
Just got mine yesterday and was going to replace the motor mount screws with 3mm, but they instantly stripped!! So annoying there was way to much loctite that first twist they stripped.
Sorry to hear that buddy. I've learnt from experience not to go anywhere near them screws without putting alot of heat to it first. Best to get them out if you can and replace with bigger ones.
Hi buddy. The side guards on the fireteam are plastic. As an all round car I would say the exb kraton. Its alot stronger and are able to do flips and tricks easier with the shorter chassis. The fireteam is alot heavier which makes it slower. My kraton exb has the old v4 electronics with a cheap servo and runs fine. Another fun rig is the talion exb. You would have to change the wheels though. Overall my advise would be to look for a cheap decent second hand kraton exb with electronics installed. Once you get used to it then consider the fireteam.
I have this armor fire team buggy and the only setback situation that I would address would be you have to spend close to $800 for a vehicle plus batteries and then if you wanted to last a few months you gotta spend another $200 in upgrades these RC companies need to address this I know there should be some upgrades to make things better but we’re talking about upgrades to make the car survive this should not be the case!! And I know you could say well you don’t have to buy the vehicle but if you told everybody that then where would you be so let’s not go there and how about stay positive and try to address the situation!!!!
Hi Ken. I do think arrma should have released a exb roller version. Honestly I was in the same boat...I really didn't like the fact I had to spend more on upgrades. As it turned out all I've upgraded is the chassis braces to the exb ones and this thing has been a blast. I've not gone easy on it and its still in one piece. If you get 5 mjns plz check out my bash vids. Really I'm now of the option that upgrade when you break stuff. You never know it might take a beating in its rtr state.
I wonder, with the panels off, if the roll bar spark screws from the Outcast/Notorious fit, what would happen if you kept the panels off and put the screws in ALL the holes of it, would they protect during a roll on pavement and throw sparks everywhere?
Umm... I like your thinking 🤔 I reckon it would give sparks if you use titanium screws. You could get slightly longer screws and put some spacers behind them to make the screws sit prouder... imo it looks sick without the panels as well. 👍👍🙂
@@inspiredrc also thank you for showing how you move the battery tray. Some videos would say to do it but never showed how and even moving the wire hold down next to the servo couldn't get the wires to reach. Didn't think about opening up the receiver box. 🤔 Time to do it right. And with mine being black probably going the flex seal the truck bed liner like I do now when painting a body. A sturdy flex without being so stiff as on the Notorious when it did crack the shoe goo and drywall tape would crack again. But my Rustler 4x4 and Typhon body I backed with flex and liner, you can spread the sides out and almost flatten without any splits or cracks. 🤙
@@tonysmith7989 thx buddy. Flex seal is an awsome idea. I have found body can still crack after the shoe goo mod too. Try putting some spacers behind the panel screws after the flex seal. It will help keep the panels on the car. Thx for the support dude. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have on the rig. 👍🙂
Hi buddy. I use zeee power lipos. For the fireteam I've been using 2x 5200 mah 80c hardcase 3s batts. They just fit. Alternatively you can just go 1 x 6s zeee lipo. These batts are available on amazon or eBay. I found they are good value for money and last just as long as the more expensive ones. You will need a proper lipo charger with a balance port for any no traxxas batts though. Sky rc make a dual charger. I've have an overlander dual charger that I've been using for years. It's the RC-D100. Hope this helps. 👍🙂
Hi buddy. If your not planning on jumping then there isn't much you need to do. I would put spacers behind the body panel screws and put roof skid plates on. I used my old kraton 8s rtr skid plates. I've not had any issues using the 15t pinion. I don't recall having any overheating issues. I've had the high speed gearing on since day 1. If your wanting to do wheelies then you may want to put thicker fluid in the center diff. I've got 500k in mine. My rig took a pounding in stock form before I upgraded anything. Hope this helps.
@@darienlochin2120 thank you. Yes I've found that happening on all my arrmas. Not sure what yhe solution is as I don't use reverse much whilst bashing.
Hi buddy They are different rigs for different driving styles. The kagama is more of a stuck truck on an eighth scale chassis...triples are no problem. Where as the fireteam is more of a ripper. You can stunt it but the xl chassis makes it harder. I've upgraded my fireteam to with stand my type of bashing which cost 💰 My kagama is still stock. Tbh if its an arrma you want then hold fire and get the new kraton 6s exb rtr. Its a good all round rig👍 the kagama however is good value for money as long as you can get parts👍
Hi buddy. Tbh, I'm still running my stock servo. It's not as great after a year, but as a basher, I find a can go through servos often. To keep cost down I recommend the DS3235. It's cheap and powerful. Available on ebay and amazon. I have them installed in my kraton 6s exb and my kagma. Both are still going strong 💪 I actually have one ready to drop into the fireteam once the stock one fails. I hope this helps 👍
@conrow1157 hi. You will be able to use your existing horn and screws. Here is a vid I did when I put the 25kg version in my kraton 6s. Install procedure will be the same. Just make sure you get the 35kg version. Ds3235.
Lol! I dont even know where they are??? Its been ages since I removed them. Anyway if you got a fireteam then check out the new body wrap i got for mine. This company makes a few different design and will also make a custom design aswell. Super cheap! Mine is now black and red and looks awsome. I did a vid on it not too long ago.
@@inspiredrc I subscribed. Lol. I just picked up a brand new fireteam in box……. 150$. Did the goop and tape hold up?how about the light kit. Still holding up?
@djh254 Appreciate the sub 🙏 yes the shoe goo has helped alot. Couple of issues here and there after year of bashing but the panels are still on. I do recommend upgrading the chassis braces to the aluminium exb mojave ones. Don't bother with the light kit. The company is really bad and their kit will break on the first crash. After I broke mine I actually got a couple of thick zip ties which I glued 5v led strips too and screwed them into the roll cage. Super flexible and still working. 👍
