I began my 38 Year Career in the Automotive Industry in 1967 as a Salesman for Pierre's Motors in Portland Oregon. We only sold imported Cars, ( Renault, Rover, MG, Austin, Lotus and Marcos., so every domestic trade in was wholesaled to another dealer. Part of the reason I think now was the owner needed the cash inflow. I wholesaled 1957 through 1959 Chrysler Imperials for under $30.00 to Don Lee. Those has the Balanced and Printed 392 Hemi's from the Factory. A perfect 56' Bel Air 2 door Post in blue and white tu tone for $358.oo, and a 67 Shelby Mustang 350 with a wing in lime green for $2300. These were all nice driving Cars. Retailed a dark Blue '68 P0rsche 912 with under 50k miles for $4800. Who Knew??

Since they had online bidding, they hung on quite a while before hammering sold. They wanted to make sure not to miss any bids. It makes the sale take longer for sure, but it's fair to everyone who wants a chance to bid on a car

Mr Goodpliers you provide such a wealth of knowledge about these old cars you really should call the body styles by their correct names. The cars with B pillars are Sedans regardless of the number of doors. The manufacturers never called them posts. That tortured description came from guys my age back in the 70’s who couldn’t find the high school library to read an automotive publication if their life depended on it. Please afford the cars, their manufactures, the stylists, and all the other wonderful people who were involved in the creation of these cars the historical accuracy they deserve. Love your videos. I get to see things I’d otherwise never get to see.

@Steverinomeister
@Steverinomeister Год назад
@@patdesrosiers6423 yes you are right usually referred to as club coupes or business coupes depending on whether they are equipped with a back seat or not. If a manufacturer offered a sport coupe in a particular lineup the pillared cars are called sedans to differentiate. Of course this wasn’t necessary until the Sport Coupe (Hardtop Convertible) came along.

You already know the difference between the 1971 and 72 LTD, but there is one thing I'll add. The 1971 had 3 piece taillights running across the back, all of which lit up. The 1972 also had 3 piece lights but the centre section did not light up as it served as a reflector only.

Whats the difference between a 2 door wagon and a nomad?
@mr.goodpliers6988
@mr.goodpliers6988 Год назад
Quite a lot actually. The two door wagon was a utilitarian body style which shared most other parts and structure (apart from the doors) with the 4 door wagons. On the other hand, the Nomad used many entirely separate, dedicated parts specific to that model only. It had a completely different roof structure, fancier tailgate, and two door hardtop style doors. The 55 Nomad had special long die cast front fender moldings. The Nomad's design was actually based on a Corvette station wagon Motorama show car. They were limited production cars in 1955, 56 and 57, with an average of 15,000 built for each model year
