Awesome video I have 2003 and your spot on about these trucks had to have transfer case replaced due to pump rub also had to have transmission rebuilt 👍🏻
The transmission went out on my truck. (Reverse and park don't work, and it makes a sort of whirring noise as i drive forward). In auto class we took the fill plug off the transfer case and flyid came pouring out. I never topped it off and one day after driving up a hill i heard the noise i hear now
Thanks for the straightforward info. I have a 2004 s10 Blazer. When it's in g ear it makes a whine. The whine gets faster when i press the gas and slows when i let off the gas. It's not present when it's not in gear.
Thanks for this video! I had the transmission on my 03 Savana AWD rebuilt at 200,000 because my 3-4 went out. Then again, at 225,000. Now, at 250,000, it was overheating during a long road trip. In the shop again for flush/filter, diff service, and aftermarket trans temp gauge. I'll stop at the parts store and grab a new mass airflow sensor when I pick it up! Sounds like it might've been a wonky MAF the whole time! 🤯🤯🤯
Interesting about the MAF sensor - the LR Disco 2 V8 has an issue that when the sensor plays up the transmission starts to delay changing up, e.g. 30 MPH becomes 40 MPH and yes typically no codes are shown. As an aside you can buy the full LR part including plastic housing but all you need is the genuine Bosch sensor part for a BMW E39 M5. Much cheaper.
what about starting the silverado and it shifts fine, then nothing. turn it off and on again, shifts fine for a half a block, then nothing. i can turn it on and off and get off the road but it only lasts a half mile before trans does not shift at all
Sounds like you have had a catastrophic failure inside. Whats happening is metal is clogging the filter and stops the pump from pumping. When you shut it off all the fluid and metal drain back to the pan and you are able to move again until the filter gets plugged up. Sounds like its tome for a overhaul !
08 Chevy 1500 4.3 ci. Crank It Up put it in gear it won't go forward or reverse first second third drive when you hit the trailer pull button when you hit the trailer pull button it will engage and you can drive it a little bit when you stop then it's all over you got to Jack the back wheels up the turn the tires backwards sometimes it will engage and you can drive it sound like anything you've experienced
That is very strange … ive never heard of anything like that. Normally if it wont move in drive but will move in low gear its a rolled sprag which would explain why it would move in tow hall mode.
I’m not sure what the problem could be as soon as I give it gas it jerks a little also giving it the passing gear it also does it and when I run over some bumbs small pot holes it also does it o have a Silverado 2004 4.3L I really need to know what is causing it thanks Paul
Got a 2007 LS Chevy suburban 2years ago got the 3rd and 4th done now it didn't work again but i removed the TCM and plugged it back and it shift but stopped again do you think its the tcm i already changed my BCM and ECM
Mine won’t shift from 2-3 until maybe 3 or 4 miles of driving. It also won’t shift back up after kicking down while passing people or going uphill. Can’t figure it out and the shop I took it to has no idea. No codes, either.
