BATWOMAN 3x06 REVIEW | This Show Is Written By 5-Year-Olds 

You know Batwoman is ass backwards when ALICE, the villain who shouldn’t give a crap, is the better detective than the ENTIRE BAT TEAM. Mary being poison ivy: found out by Alice Freeze notes: found out by Alice The trigger for poison ivy: FOUND OUT BY FREAKING ALICE.

You know a somewhat heroic version of Posion Ivy struggling to do the right thing while dealing with her affinity for nature would be a cool storyline to see, but unfortunately we’re stuck with Mary: The self righteous hypocrite.

The reason why Batman and Jim Gordon relationship was so good is that even if Batman kept something a secret Jim was still smart enough to figure it out on his own, Batman was only just a little bit quicker. There’s no relationship like that here or characters so if a person is just kept out of the loop that’s mostly it.

Halfway through the episode I was like "wow, these people are dumb", and then I was surprised that I was surprised

Well Alice is a women, so she's actually a victim. None of the murderings is her fault, no responsibility for her crimes because she's a victim. Mary is also a women, so she's also a victim. No responsibility for her either. According to the writers logic that is.

The most hilarious line this episode was Mary saying she believes in justice. If she gave a crap about that, she wouldn't refuse to report gunshot wounds and criminals who come to her clinic. Gotta say though, it was satisfying to see Mary be the villain, the role she was born for. It's funny, I actually did like her in Season 1, because she was, at least, friendly and I felt some sympathy for how Kate kept ditching her, but they dropped all that when they hit Season 2.

The Ivy infection makes her so without shame and following her 'passions' to an extreme level that she murders a guy for rejecting her and murders a dude for hurting her friend's sister; and yet she isn't even tempted to kill the domestic terrorist who's responciable for the most traumatizing moment in her life? How is she working with Alice without a care?

CW's Catch 22: When they change the villains gender/race/etc. according to their box ticking agenda, they are then NOT able to have the villain do the awful things (that villains do) because they can't have their evil diversity characters being, you know, evil.

8:20 - Adding spice to that, Mary is at least self-aware enough to KNOW she has a problem. Bare minimum, she could be committed long enough to keep her under observation. Even assuming that she's not a threat to others, you want to make sure she's not a threat to herself. 16:45 - Holy. Shit. So...Sophie TORTURES a guy to death, Ryan sees the results of this, and...nothing? Batman himself might not turn her in, but at a bare minimum he'd disown her ass from the Bat-Family (back in the comics he refused to work with the Huntress any more after she did something similar).

I really just love the fact that the last season really spend oh so much time to tell us that Alice is only eeeevul because of Safiyah and Enigma, and then she still does shit like the stuff she did here, because reasons. With that said, because everyone is an asshole in this show, I still root for Alice.

Mary was straight so it was no surprise when she announced she was this seasons villian

By the way, Safiyah is still laying comatose somewhere with a magic knife in her heart. Alice hasn't said anything about it herself. So much for that 'storm' Safiyah predicted coming to Gotham lol.

I don't get why Poison Mary and Alice are now partners. Wouldn't Mary have deep hatred for Alice killing her mother and other crimes and immediately put a vine tightly around Alice's neck? But Mary can attempt to kill a man because he called her "Sweet" and whine to Ryan and Luke.

This is my writer's instinct here, if I was planning to turn Mary into a villain, I would have used the death of her mother as the catalyst with Mary having some resentment over the way that they have been treating Alice, her mother's murderer, with more compassion than her. That way her villain turn would make more sense than just hating on Ryan and Luke for whatever flimsy reasons the writers came up with.

This show makes no sense: From a Batsuit with a zipper, to the Batmobile that has AGM-114 Missiles (missiles that are about 1/2 the size of that car). Makes sense...

I think you could've gotten bingo this time. "Evil White Men" and "Lesbian Love Triangles" should be checked off, on account of the black glove guy and the newfound love triangle between Ryan, Sophie, and Rene.

The show's writers don't know the WNBA needs positive optics these days and shouldn't have the open with the girl shooting a pathetic air ball. Calling Mary compassionate is wrong. This is the person that had the desert rose cure and walked by all the sick people in the hospital (that could use it) just to apply it only to Luke last season.

The movie for the 60s Batman series had the re-hydrenated de-hydrenated henchmen die at the slightest impact because they were reconstituted not with regular water, but with the heavy water from the Batcave's atomic pile. That's right; the drinking water is right next to the radioactive water. And it's still a country mile more intelligent than the Batcave having windows.

The biggest crime with this show is that Batwoman comics incorporate a lot of urban legends and make for really interesting stories. But these (lol) writers can’t be bothered to even research the source material, much less follow the enemies that Kate actually fights. This show could’ve been so much more of it wasn’t in the hands of twidiots.

This episode did things that were already done but cranked the frustration up. Remember when Batwoman had a prisoner? Remember when Mary rejected Jacob? Well here’s something like that but worse! And Luke man. Remember when he actively chose death only to be brought back against his will? I bet he really wishes he could have a do over with that

Az from HeelvsBabyface talked about how the guy encased in honey was just some guy who in the end, didn't like Mary enough and so she took revenge by encasing him in honey. Would have been great to hear what you thought about that.

I liked the Mary, Mary quite contrary line at the end. I'm wondering if Jada is going to end up being Catwoman and they discover it by finding her whip in her office or home.

You can tell these writers don’t care about Batman because they have no knowledge of him or his history. When they revealed the poison ivy look for Mary they said that she is next after Uma Thurman. There have been 3 live action poison ivys on Gotham since Uma Thurman, and why are they acting like Uma Thurmans poison ivy was even good. It was trash. There have been so many better interpretations like the Arkham games or btas.

What's most funny is this amnesiac, continuity-hating show is being written by (mostly) the same group of writers since the beginning. Scribes of this episode are among those people.

Not only is the show written by 5-year-olds, they wrote Mary as a 5-year-old, who when she doesn't get the attention she wants, decides to act out. In this case, becoming a Poison Ivy host and trying to kill her friends.

Also another thing it’s been established in elseworlds that Wayne enterprises is basically not even an active company anymore since Bruce left Gotham, and that even the board of directors has left the company so there’s technically no more Wayne enterprises. That was the whole point so Kate can have Wayne tower be a good hideout and not have to worry about anyone interrupting them. The writers of this show is trying to undo something that has already been established in elseworlds. Also since Bruce is still alive, isn’t he the only person allowed to appoint a new ceo as the owner of the company. If not Bruce, the board of directors would appoint a new ceo, but the board of directors are gone.

Another wildly entertaining show as usual - I mean Thorias, not the awful Batwoman show. Thorias suffers so we don't have to by watching Batwoman so we can all see who the hero here is. Rash Manly

Every time I listen to your review I keep thinking back to The Warp Zone and their skit about The Flash where the writers are trying to make the show so bad on purpose but they keep getting renewed and break down crying at the end. All you have to do replace The Flash with Batwoman and it all makes sense.

Im gonna say it... Batman Forever is no longer the worst property associated with Batman. That title now belongs to Batwoman, and i say that with every Bat Credit card, "chicks dig the car", and dumb ice puns in mind.

Is it bad that I went throughout the entire length of the episode seeing Mary descend into evil and thought nothing about it except "it's about time"?

Mary wants to dance like Uma Thurman. Make her hair look like a mess. Mary wants to dance like Uma Thurman, and she can’t get Luke out of her head. She can move green vines and work her wardrobe. Work her wardrobe. Oh! Oh! She’ll keep Lucius’ AI. Take Alice on… a… road… trip.

Now I know why they have the faux rogues gallery of Batman. Because the actual villain the Batman faces would be too tough for widdle Batbetty to handle.

It's too bad they only made Mary a villain. The rest of the cast already act like villains so they should just go ahead and embrace the fact that they are the baddies.

Poor Thorias. If you hated Mary before, just wait. She is now Poison Mary. Poor guy. God, I Hate The CW.

I think it's pretty safe to say they're tanking the show on purpose at this point. No one, not even a 3 year old child, would consider a cave with windows being reasonable idea. The stupidity to come up with that idea is in the "I don't know how to dress myself" territory, actually being able to write and spell is far beyond this intellectual capacity.

It is such a shame how far Montoya fell. While Gotham wasn’t perfect, why she went from that to...this is just sad. Funny how Mary says she doesn’t hurt people but doing a.. live surgery in front of an audience but I think she forgot bout that. Thorias... you need paid so much more for suffering through this.

Thorias, Mary said all those things because Alice got into her head making it seems Ryan and Luke were using her but I still think Mary is partially to blame here, she wasn't exactly direct about what happened to her, maybe because she didn't remember how the details? And IDK why Luke was screaming for his dad to help, Mary did him a favor by taking out that shitty failsafe.

Regular Mary = Bitchy Heel Poison Mary = Bitchy Heel I see no difference between the 2 except now the show is acknowledging Poison Mary as a heel.

If Mary cared about justice she would not have that underground clinic. By law, Clinics have to be certified. Run by a certified doctor, not an unlicensed “doctor” without a degree or understanding of medicine. Which I doubt she has.

After last weeks review I decided to watch that episode. I watched a couple of minutes, skipped ahead, repeated the process a couple of times and then stopped. It literally felt like something broke in my brain. I have a new respect for your suffering. I salute you!

Well, atleasyMary's the only one with a consistent character throughout all 3 seasons... always a b!tch, always giant daddy issues. Montoya: "You let the biggest threat to Gotham walk free!" Rich coming from the lady who lets mass-murderer Alice do whatever she wants.

My new favorite game is seeing if I can manage to watch a full episode and try to think what Thorias would say about each scene then playing my own Bingo when his episode comes out and see if I was right.

Let's see back story for a poison ivy mantle. A Poison ivy plant contaminated by pollution becomes sentient and can move its conscience to a new body via its sap. But only to women's bodies which then become Poison Ivy the villain.

To be Fair, Mary said she was straight last week, so it was only her fault until the bi Poison Ivy persona too over... now she's a victim.

Well, if we are going to be pedantic about architecture, then the "bat cave" should be, at the very least, in the middle level of the Wayne Enterprises Skyscraper. This is because the building is located in an area surrounded by other tall buildings, so to have direct sunlight like that means that the floor it is located in should be really high, so 3rd floor would not theoretically cut it. It should be also has access to a side of building, probably the eastern side.

Luke story should’ve been the other way around. He should’ve been on wanting keep the failsafe on. Cause he wants spend time with the AI father. Unwilling let go his father. Mary needed be one saying he doesn’t need the the failsafe or AI. That way it feels more genuine. Instead the writers took the lazy option. All further demean Luke and make Mary even more insufferable.
