This is the third of three films in this series capturing the chase for a Chesil Beach summer codling. We cross the fleet for the opportunity to have the beach to ourselves and i settle in for an extended 24 hour session.
The bait used in this film was purchased from

Another excellent and informative video, I love the honesty in the way you fish and explain things. I've a trip planned next weekend, heres hoping a few fish show.

I’m really pleased you enjoyed it and if it helps at all then it is a double bonus. If fished better when the tide pulled left to right when facing the sea and quietened of at slack high. The eels appeared at slack low.

Brilliant video again Mark. Great to watch you and learn something new every time. As an aside I noticed that your pulley rig wasn’t made using Trident components?
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
As you know Bill, I like to experiment. This 5’ pulley is one adjustment away from being my main rig for big Stingrays and Tope but can be down tuned for sessions like this. I like some of the 🔱 stuff but I am enjoying the Gemini set-up atm.

Thanks for another quality video , Time for my next question about your gear heh , how do you find the Igloo , been using an original Beach Buddy for years but its just so damn heavy and doesnt collapse down in length at all , its probably due to be re-waterproofed and Im tempted to bite the bullet and just buy a new shelter
@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
I have the igloo and the Bigaloo but always use the igloo by choice. It is light and strong but is a fixed length. Very simple to put up/take down and I like that you can have it tall and narrow or short and wide.

Another brilliant video mate 👍but I've always put worm baits on the hooks tale first because I got told year's ago that the fish always goes for the head of the worms 🪱 🎣👍

The mag adjuster is an issue for some people but there is a conversion kit available to swap it to a flat/flush fitting adjuster, they are £12.

@seaangling
@seaangling Год назад
@@derekjefferson1324 I’m happy to help. I have no links or affiliations where these are concerned. They are robust, compact hauling machines that have given me no issues at all other than what you already know. I have “knocked” the mag setting before as it sticks out so I check on every cast. I have considered doing the conversion and will film it if I do. The drag is strong and predictable, easily set and given no issues. The speed of return is good and no issues. Casting is predictable where I have a routine of +3 mag for night time, +4 for daytime conservative and +5 mag for daytime and no wind. Everyone is different but these settings have been consistent for me. I have had no over runs except one recently that was my fault. Compression/spool play I set with a small amount of side to side play, this works for me and could be less for more control without binding.

@@seaangling Thank you for your time in replying such an “I’m depth” comments, very much appreciated. I think I will purchase the lower model of Fathom with the flush mag knob fitted, does not look so attractive ( all black, but think the overall spec will suit me better, I am not that a great caster, so think the lower metreage of line will not bother me All other specs appear to be the same Once again thank you for your time/comments Look forward to your next shore video Go Steady. - Derek
