Coach Chris Wilson shows you 7 of his favorite variations of the amazing BEAR CRAWL. As far as bodyweight exercises go, the bear crawl is at the top of the list for most muscle activation and overall benefit to the body. This movement pattern is primal and helps to reset the body while also challenging the muscles from head to toe.
Do one, some or all of these bear crawl exercises in a workout. The more you do them, the better you get... being strong with just your bodyweight will serve you very well as you get up in age.

I love that you provide so many diferente ways to do a bear crawl. 💪😍👍 And it was so funny the reaction you gave when the camera got very close to you, when you were pulling the weight bag. 🤣 Thank you for everything. This is very useful. I will use these diferente bear crawls with my clients, when I do my personal fitness training. 💪😉👍 By the way I live in Miami, FL. What part of Florida is your Gym?

Tried it for a month, starting with 20 feet. I have some sandbags like yours at the gym but no sleds. Problems: 1) hard to scale more - I insert dumbbells into the loops of a sand bag but theres only so much you can put - (and I wear 5# ankleweights to go forwards and backwards for 100 feet each and I cant put on anymore than a 15 lb chrome weight into a 40 sandbag); 2) not full range of motion; 3) since exercise is so specific, even if you get good at this, what real life applications does this stimulate, or have, as opposed to say running or climbing? I can understand soldiers and crossfitters wanting to do this, and its general endurance conditioning (yes I sweat a bucket), but being good at it wont help strength or skills. Is this a warmup kind of exercise like skipping ropes or battleropes? Generally I want to do exercises that I cant beat - like a rowing machine . Am I wrong? Im 65 and 135 lbs., primarily do core exercises and calisthetics.

The bear crawl is excellent for conditioning, shoulder health, and core. Usually this is done with much farther distances. Typically a set would be up to 100 feet. You can also try wearing a weight vest. Don’t move too fast or else it’s much easier.
