Awesome content man, re: having props on the bench with a pack plugged in, I've been bitten in the past and it sucked, sliced the tip of my thumb and pointing finger with a 5" prop, not pleasant at all, I definitely learnt my lesson after that incident!

I like that you used a reasonably sized screen for this betaflight walkthrough. Most other betaflight how to videos use a huge screen and then on my laptop every detail is so small and I can't see any details of what they are doing; one would need to watch their videos on a big screen TV to see what they are doing. Love your channel. This the best 4.4 tutorial that I’ve seen! At the early start of the video you mentioned and showed your long range quad. It looked like the Flywoo LR 4 with O3. I have this version with the Crossfire RX being shipped as we speak. Not sure if it’s delivered with 4.4.1. If not do you have some recommended 4.4.1 presets? just finished building my first fpv drone yesterday, a 5 inch 6s shredder. I used this video extensively doing my Betaflight set up, and was very excited about the presets tab :p I am using a UAVtech tune, seems great so far. Thanks for all the hard work, it feels like a real accomplishment completing it. I bought a soldering iron and learned to solder for it, it's my first rc project. Now, not to smash it into a wall at 99mph

Thank you for relesing these videos and making the Preset tab, such a useful feature! For things I want to see in the Preset tab: 1. Let us use our own backup as the source, and just pick which section we want to apply the backup to, for example when we want to migrate OSD setup after upgrading to a new major FC release. 2. Have default preset for every section in BF to let us fall back to easily. Like I was tweaking parameters in the Failsafe tab but when I want to revert back to the default values, searching online thru various post and videos until I find a picture of the default Failsafe tab was the only way (other than finding the stock CLI and copy things out). I know we can do the above things thru CLI, but the Preset tab just seem like a perfect place for applying and migrating sections with easy-to-use GUI, hope you can consider and thanks for your hard work once again!

In this situation what can be the issue, I push the throttle all the motors ran but when I move the throttle completely down the motor stay on HI-RPM, for control that, I have to disarm the drone. For now I use the preset elrs 500 ghz the module is a betafpv 1w receiver betafpv super D. This is my first drone... thanks a lot for your videos

if you trying that without props - its ok. Quad tried to correct itself slightly, but can't without props. So it tried harder and harder.

Love the video. But what about RC_LINK presets? Recently i helped a guy through the Betaflight config and his quad was flying fine but the motors sounded rough. Later i found out that we forgot the RC_LINK preset and that fixed the rough motors. But it seems like youre not mentioning them in your video. Are they just optional or manditorry?

Hi Ivan, on SpeedyBee F405 v3 FC running Betaflight 4.4.2 I have enabled barometer and magnetometer but both are blacked out and not working. I did include magnetometer when flashing. Do you know how to repair it? thanks Barometer is the one on FC board and for magnetometer I'm using Foxeer GPS M10Q 180 5883, I soldered all 6 wires correctly.

@@IvanEfimovLimon I was about to send SpeedyBee a message, and before sending I wanted to take photo of the FC for them to see and when I examined the photo I saw that the tiny SDA wire had like one or two strands that didn't get soldered and were bent and touching the SCL pad! I moved those strands away from the SCL pad and started Betaflight configurator and both barometer and magnetometer icons are now illuminated! thank God I wonder how that caused the on board barometer to not function, interesting...

21:19 The mid points of Roll, Pitch and Yaw channels are at 1500 when the sticks are idle but otherwise my 4 main channels go from 989 to 2012. what should I do? is that a problem?

I want to add a servo to my FC but if I have already used all my MOTOR and LED_STRIP pads, are there other pads that can be used for a servo? do you know if a UART pad can be used for a servo? in CLI I found resource BEEPER 1 , and resource PPM 1 , what are these?

beeper is for buzzer :) PPM1 is for old receivers. Usually none of them can be remapped. Best choice is to use ledstrip and see if that works. But not all FCs can do it. Sometimes also can use SCL/SDA pins. Ually guys on BF discord can help with remapping if it doesn't work right away, cuz sometimes need to also do some timer repammings in CLI

that could be many reasons: 1. you didn't FLASH with correct protocol selected 2. you didn't select correct protocol on receivers tab 3. Bad wiring/came loose 4. Lost binding 5. Wrong port selected for RX etc...

Thanks a lot for answer me. The weird thing is that when have the radio ON and I have the drone with the battery connected the receiver light switch to solid light. I pull all cable and don't look loose, the wire cross it how the diagram show RX-TX... and I try re-flash the FC last night w/ BF 4.4 and where say radio protocol I select (CRSC) on BF tap- receiver the same nothing happens I'll try another receiver that I have to see what will happen..... thanks again for your time and help.

Добрый день, Наверно немножно не в тему вопрос, но попробую спросить. Пытался заапгрейдить JHEMCU BG16 (F405) с 4.3 до 4.4, так в 4.4 пропал гироскоп. Наколхозил на YT вариант ключей добавить и скомпилить кастом -- гироскоп нашелся, но не армится, баззер отбивает мелодию. Какие посоветуете варианты? Я так понимаю, что в дефолтном варианте на 4.4 идет 270 гироскоп, который уже не встречается из-за повсеместного перехода на ICM-P. Ну и еще может пара опций упущена, которые я не знаю где поискать и вставить. Спасибо.

@@IvanEfimovLimon О, спасибо! У меня еще OSD отвалился, поэтому кроме музыки никакой диагностики не было. Мне удалось с Али вернуть деньги за отвалившийся OSD и я заказал новый стек. Но у него оказались на контроллере коротнуты М3/М4, после чего я и за этот вернул деньги. А потом оказалось, что JHEMCU больше не отгружает этот стек продавцам. И, короче, я сдался ;)

Receiver: for ELRS & TX16S sliders always going 988-2012 I assume this is expected?

This isn't too bad. However you can always adjust these limits in the radio settings.

@@IvanEfimovLimon but ELRS is a digital protocol, and 2012-988=1024 so it takes 10 bits for full range. I think when people compressing the range on TX before ELRS will pack it, they just loosing the possible range. I am not sure if it is usable on BF side anyway (I hope it is). Also I'm not completely sure if BF can read fractions, but I assume it is rounded to integer... And I have a feeling that it is not even possible to pass through CRSF without extra looses when it is compressed to 1000-2000 range. When TX is set to 988-2012 (default) it actually passes through CRSF all the way to BF with exact same values.

Separate things. Gyro calibration happening every time you plug it in and leave for a second without movements.

Throttling up as a "failsafe" seems insane to me. All it takes is a wobbly gimbal connection. Am I missing something? I can see applying 10% but not half or full throttle?

Additionally, the throttle limit only applies to the throttle channel. IMO pre arm is much safer

throttling up on failsafe happens only for the first moment when stage 1 is engaged. Making sure you not going to dip into the ground. And yes, of course prearm is safer, but its nothing to do with throttle limit really.

@@IvanEfimovLimon No I get that. I meant using the throttle as a sort of replacement for pre-arm like many people do. Going full throttle for this seems unsafe and unnecessary since betaflight refuses to arm with just a tiny bit of throttle applied.
