My local reptile shop has all the goods, scorpions, blue, tongue skinks, jewelled lacertas, ackies, turtles, tegus all sorts of insects bearded dragons, uromastx, water dragons and they all have proper enclosures and they have different lizards on display and you can order bugs and lizards that aren’t on display. Ive just taken in a pair of jeweled lacertas as rescues and so I'm cramming content about them to learn as much as possible to give them the best care. At the moment they seem quite tame and handleable - but they are severely underweight and have injuries! I wonder how theyll be in a few weeks! 😅 They are just gorgeous though and eat like savages!

Hadn't heard much about either of these lizards and it was really cool to gain some new knowledge. I will probably not get a lizard since I've always been more passionate about snakes, but this was a really nice and informative video regardless ✨

I've been really tempted by the plated lizards as an alternative to the chuckwallas I really want, especially considering the price for captive bred. They seem super awesome, but it's a hard choice for me, mainly because my garden is a bunch of native species to my area and a great portion of them would be a reliable and free food source for a chuckwalla during the warmer months here. The choices!!

We have a Sudan he's not sociable no matter how many times we handle him. We are thinking of getting a jeweled lacerta next

nice video :) which subspecies of Timon Lepidus (jeweled lacerta) do you have? In Europe i see them in pet stores and on expo's sometimes. They tend to come in different green (to blueish), yellow, brown and grey tints, altho this is mainly linked to the 3 subspecies (also a difference in headshape/size)

This hasn’t any thing to do with this video buttt. You should do a video about the shedding proces of a (hognose) snake. A lot of people have questions about it and there aren’t a lot of info videos about it. For new snake owners it can be a scary time cause their snake won’t eat and hides all the time. So a info video about that could help a lot of people ( i think).

I have 2 sudan plated and was initially told that the male was bigger like you stated in this video. This is apparently actually not the case. It’s the female of the species that is infact larger.

Question for you. I have an Indonesian blue tongue skink, named her Periwinkle. Have had her for a bit over 2 weeks. I am getting a PVC enclosure for her, as i am having a very hard time keeping the humidity where she needs it. When that enclosure comes in I will have an empty enclosure. What is the best reptile to get, that doesn't require a lot of humidity???? I live in New Mexico, a pretty dry place. Any ideas would be great, so I can start to research what my second reptile might be. Thanks.
