Yes breathing exercises make such a huge difference with blood pressure readings. I took my BP today when I got home from work and after I ate, and it was high at 162 over 92. So I did some deep breathing exercises and waited a couple minutes and took it again and it was lower, and it kept going down each time. I took it 4 times total waiting a couple mins in between and just did deep breathing, and the final BP reading was 138 over 79.
