A detailed overview of our lightweight 1976 Porsche 911. This video covers our approach to delivering considered aesthetic upgrades within a concours-level restoration - and provides insight into the driving benefits derived from a unique combination of increased power and weight-loss linked to the original specification 4-speed transmission of a base-level 1976 Porsche 911.

What a stunning G-Body. I am fortunate to say that I recently purchased a 77 G-Body 911S. Everything on the car is Original. I am grateful to have an opportunity to be the caretaker. Thank you for sharing this experience. Cheers!

So, the phrase you are looking for is a ‘reduction in the polar moment of inertia’. You are removing mass from the extremities. If you can run more anti-dive geometry in the front suspension and maintaining a 58% rear bias weight distribution will still give you the amazing traction and driving characteristics. The car is stunning, it is simply the nicest G series I have seen (although the Targa in my thumbnail on watch next from you guys may top it!) SA has a fantastic reputation for building beautiful cars (I am thinking Super-performance and AC) so it is not a surprise. Greetings from London UK

Very nice build and I love the color. I noticed an issue I have with my Ferrari 430 manual which I noticed in your car is when I bring my car to a club track day and when I wear a helmet I hit the interior roof. I noticed that you have very little room in your Porsche too.

Nicely explained 2.7 l. The beauty is in the driving it’s like going to the Theatre. 👍

She’s gorgeous and I really like the authentic manner in which you’ve restored the car & modestly enhanced the performance. Problem is now I want one & it’s beyond my reach 😅

Hello, beautiful car. Can anyone tell me how bad the liftoff oversteer is, ie at what speed the back starts to go under breaking if the car is not going straight? I am tempted by an early Porsche but hear so many worrying stories about these early cars. Cheers. Nice drive!
@Dutchmann_official
@Dutchmann_official 8 месяцев назад
Hey Pierre. Generally, oversteer is less a factor speed vs approach - and will affect you under ill-timed acceleration (vs breaking). Having driven a few different setups (mid-engine, FWD, RWD ) I can say that a well-setup classic 911 will not give you any surprises. Don't believe the Top Gear crew who like to get the tail-wagging for dramatic effect. The early cars are wonderful!

Thank you very much for feedback. Only driven modern ones and was told “to be very careful”, so good to know. Cheers

"I think in this case...I'm fairly certain of it in fact. A lot of how this car is feeling and how it's driving has actually got to do as well with its weight loss." LFG

Nice car. Great color, great sound. Not sure the large sport buckets fit the look though. Perhaps some earlier sport seats? I'd go back to something more period.

A fair observation. The video features the original/period seats (the car ships with both the original seats & the carbon lightweight seats providing the owner with the option of either). Of interest is the fact that Recaro Pole Position seats were specified by Porsche in the 964 RS - which carries the same cabin dimensions as this ‘76.

Hi, which rim and tire sizes do,you use to make it fit into the narrow body? They are matching very nicely..

Hi - stock 16" 7J Fuchs and tyres. The corner weights help with the look & drive.

More details on suspension, tire & wheel sizes, what did you do to the magnesium cases ? What's up with the 5 blade fan, did you ad oil coolers? This was a long video without a lot of important information. Yes, beautiful 911.

Beautiful car.... but those seats are a bit much for a 2.8l. and not for a classic Porsche. My opinion. Great car Sir!
