@@basedgodstrugglin bill belickick is trolling the other time by bending the rules a little to waste time, and belichick is showing the most happiness he ever has because he never shows any emotion
@@hellothere1216 good looks. Appreciate that. If you ever wanna understand something from NASCAR (not sure if RU-vid works like that) but @ me and I’ll explain it
I think Gase did too. By then he knew the game was over so went with it. Belichick and Gase are good friends so I think they were shoving the loophole up Goodell’s ass.
I did this shit in Madden last night to setup a game winning fg and leave no time left to my opponent. He had 19 secs left and I had the ball on a fourth and 2 at his 5 yard line and I kept fake hiking it until my Oline jumped. We got flagged and clock went down to 3 secs and my opponent quit the game 😂
The Nimble Ninja Wrong he is killing time and putting less wear and tear on his players. The other coach was a fool for declining the penalties and letting the clock wind. Accept the penalty and the clock stops.
@@ivanna9326 I've watched teams score 14point in about 40 clock seconds. A NFL team could come back from being down. BB clearly respects the team he's playing because he clearly plays til the last second.
@@danejurus69 You dont' actually understand what the play was for. It wasnt for the Jets. it was for the Patriots players. Because it tells them something. It says "Hey remember that weird play that Bill told us 3 weeks ago we'd run in a very ultra specific scenario that you'd thought would never happen? yeah you're doing it right now. YOU DO REMEMBER THAT PLAY RIGHT? If you don't Bill will rip you a new one on film tomorrow." Do you know what happens when players are confused and mis-communicate on a "cute" play. You get the infamous Colts-Patriots "WORSE PLAY EVER" when the Colts snapped the ball to a single guy on center and he got destroyed, because of a single mis-communication on how that play was supposed to go down (its actually pretty interesting find Pat Macafee's podcast about it, and how a supposed 'win win nothing can go wrong' play to 'WORST PLAY IN NFL HISTORY') Bill is testing his players Football IQ. He's testing their knowledge of the playbook. He's testing their execution. He's testing their knowledge of the rules. Because you do not want to end up looking as dumb as the Colts did on a much bigger stage later in the game.
Nah I think he’s just mad that he exposed this and no one did anything about it. It’s different to do this up 33 in a guaranteed win than to do it up 1 in the wild card
@@Dev-ew8zwas a pats fan he has a good point. It’s hilarious bill used it against the jets, but it was a waste of the loophole cause we could’ve saved it for when we really needed to run down the clock
Even though both penalties were declined, an extra 40 seconds were run off the clock from the time they would have kicked the first time. Either way Bill wins.
It was all about control.. Gase was saying screw u and belicek thought it was funny because he enjoys annoying people. Twisted humor..he gets too much credit sometimes.
Delay of game (and also false starts) are no play fouls. So in any other scenario (other than the one in the video) declining the penalty would not make sense, cause the penalized team would still not lose a down. When it´s delay of game at 1st and 10 and you decline it, it would still be 1st and 10. You cannot decline it and say, OK, it´s 2nd and 10 now. Same for false start.
@@cidiose he lord emperor of NFL ,he is the smartest mind not only in football maybe any sport,I haven't seen a coach playing this sport with these much details ,cause he knows his personnel and his players capabilities ,
Deflating balls spying on other teams. Having his degenerate son on opposing sidelines in yellow gear reading play books. Oh yeah master cheat. Suck on goodells nuts sum more
This man showed everyone his brilliance as a coach, he could’ve done this in a close game but no he decided to do it when it was totally meaningless . It wasn’t to get space to punt it, it was to run out time. Notice how the clock starts running after the decision on the penalties are made. He’s not only scheming for teams and matchups but loopholes in the game. Bill is playing chess not checkers.
It would have been smarter to do it I a close game while holding on to a slim lead and you want to run more time. Doing it now could mean a rule change and potentially be useless next time in a real win or lose situation.
oscar this wouldnt have happened in a close game... the losing team would not have declined those penalties because of the clock running. Dont you realize that? Stupid ass
Chente Fernandez Buddy everyone knows that trick and everyone knows the clock starts after the penalty is either declined or accepted. The jets didn’t care. It was a five score/possession game. It was curtains for them.
I’m sure Belichick had a rules related reason for having them change the penalty “let the clock wind down for a delay of game, but the second time false start it when the clock is at zero” or something like that
