Bill Belichick in all his historical linguistic glory. Website: www.patriots.com/ Twitter: / patriotsfootbal Facebook: / patriotsfanzone The most thorough, accurate, and complete source for ALL things Patriots.
It's good. People try to play the way they _think_ they have to play to get attention, rather than be the best player they can be and focus on winning.
I don't think he's trying to fool anyone. I just think he's just trying to keep the media heat off of his players (e.g., unlike teams like Pittsburgh where they've had very talented teams but it's a complete media circus). So, Belichick would rather have all media hate/attention directed towards himself so that his players really don't have to deal with much of it... and they can just focus on doing their job w/o many distractions. It's excellent off of the field gamesmanship.
Nick Saben is the same. How is a guy who has no personality gonna get a bunch of college kids to work that hard? Heres the trick hes actually cool as fuck.
Exactly, he keeps it in house. If he was as boring as the media sees then guys wouldn’t stick around but players love his dry humor to go with his no-bullshit, no nonsense, do your job kind of approach/attitude. I would’ve died to played for a BB or Savanna for any sport. My coach that was closest to them took us to state 3 years in a row, my other sport coaches were replaceable bc winning wasn’t their priority - it showed
Also Tom sold his soul to the devil and continues to reap the rewards. There is no other logical solution. He is a surgeon. 28-3, Last week against KC in OT, Surgical.
I bet he spent a couple minutes on the 9 yard per carry average the Falcons had.. lol.. They never did stop the run... The Falcons just went away from it when they didn’t have to..
Driving that message into his players' heads, making sure they're all on the same page for the entirety of the game. I'm not even a Pats' fan but fully appreciate his attention to detail. He is why they rarely lose. I can't even remember the last time they lost a game by double digits...
When he told ocho straight up that he was getting doubled all day and instead of talking some trash Chad was just like "damn..." Hahaha he knew bill was erasing him from the game
BrunerMJ Being double teamed isn’t exactly something that is hidden in scheme. Immediately after the first play it’ll be obvious if a player will be double teamed or not.
CoDWiiPS3Gameplay Yeah, he won't have to face the Giants in a Super Bowl with Coughlin gone lol Maybe Coughlin comes over to NE? That would be kinda cool
Max Thomas Coughlin is not why we lost Eli played well and had some great breaks along the way. The Giants are having there best season in 12 years minus Coughlin. The final act and last say in this rivalry and we will hold up that historic fifth In February ending the Giants rivalry with a big win!!
I honestly feel bad for those of you who can't appreciate this man. It's like the Sox fans who couldn't appreciate Torre (I wasn't one of them), you're only hurting yourself cause you're missing out on greatness.
Joseph Mazur I respected the hell out of Torre but me and my dad used to give him the arm and the elbow when he had to make a pitching change during a rare Red Sox rally (99-03) lol
I Don't know any sox fans who hate joe. The mans a legend. One of the greatest coaches ever. Hell he's the best coach in my lifetime and I fucking despise the Yankees.
Timothy Buffington What about the Colts and the drugs? The Seahawks and the drugs? The Browns and their cell phones? Why don't you bitch about those teams doing shady shit. All teams do shady stuff idiot.... get over your jealousy. Oh I know why you don't complain about other teams, they don't win a whole lot.
+cory silva even respected legends Joe Montana and Cal Ripken have said, "if you're not cheating, you're not TRYING"... the game is bigger than just X's and O's, balls and strikes. Folks here need to grow the fuck up.
I love how he respects great players.. whether hes using them or coaching against them. Dude is a legend. I'm not even a Pat's fan, but much respect to the dynasty yall have built with billicheck and Brady. Amazing (from a cowboys fan).
Being a bills fan hard for me to admit it. But god this guy is unbelievable, the things he has put our franchise through the last 30 years.. Best coach of all time in my opinion.
Man I feel like people still totally disregard the afc east but truthfully buffalo has been damn good for 2-3 years and give them more grief than anyone else (on the field). One year I picked em for the division this was before last year obviously. And I wanna say buffalo probably shoulda beat em in 07 then maybe pats beat giants
samuel ramirez Ive seen it but he also puts the blame on himself and the assistants. Red Auerbach used to come into the locker room after a loss and say "Guys that was on me, I did a terrible job." even if it wasnt true just to take the edge off. The worst coaches are the ones who claims it was never their fault or who blame the refs, Belichick doesnt do that.
Bill son: dad I’m having a really hard time emotionally: I need some love and support Bill: I’m sorry son. I wish I could help you with that. It’s really not my thing
Man ! One of those plays they showed of Giants defense -- ol'e boy was running and got picked up by Jhonson and abused like vacated luggage at the airport !
As a Packers fan, and moreover a fan of football, Bill is a fucking genius. People talk about the cheating this and that, but the guy didn't get to where he is without a killer instinct and outstanding work ethic. I like his approach. Mike McCarthy has a similar no nonsense approach too. I just hope we can get another Superbowl this year, and a few more before Rodgers is in the history books.
I love the pack and the patriots. Belichick is football royalty to me and Rodgers and Brady are two of the best to ever do it. I really hope Rodgers and Brady meet in the super bowl at some point. Thought it was gonna happen in 2014 but Seahawks had all time great comeback at the end of NFC championship. As a fan of the game, I don't understand how anyone could hate Belichick, Brady, and the patriots
+vihockeyguy1 Rodgers is a good QB, but don't put him in the same sentence as Brady. Brady is the GOAT, and Rodgers is overrated and a system QB reliant on great WR's and other offensive weapons, whie Brady can win with your High School team!
+Viking Thor bro, I love tom Brady, but recognize greatness for Rodgers, too. Dude is just insanely talented and his physical gifts are unreal. His arm is just unbelievable. He still had a good season last year with a Swiss cheese offensive line and no jordy Nelson. They're both great. Rodgers is incredible
My Giants were so classy that even though they lost the week 17 matchup, one of the assistants said congratulations and that nobody usually does that. He couldn't be happier for Bill. Besides being a past DC winning 2 titles in the 80s under Parcells, Belichick gets teary eyed, still has a good friendship and still holds the Giants in high regard.
Timothy Buffington Hey Timmy, what coach was cited for was legal the year before. Filming the other team is legal. Every coach who responded to it stated it wouldn't have mattered as they switch play calls every week or even during the game. That was the first game of the season. From that point on the Pats went what? 22-0. You are angry. We understand. Who ever your team is has been crushed by the greatest coach in the game over and over. They always will be. It must be frustrating, but don't let it cause you a heart attack....or you could.
Drew Earthling you can't explain things an expect stupid people to learn! For example if he would of done any research he would of known that bill Cowher even admitted that every team did it! and even other coaches have come out and said that was really no big deal. other then disgruntled fans keep using it as an excuse for their own losing teams and so on! as proof here it is pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2014/01/15/bill-cowher-everybody-tried-to-steal-signals-not-just-belichick/
This video is amazing i been watching every Pats game since i was like 10 years young and never get to hear much of Belichick besides the press conferances. Love these videos the intetaction
No it did not. Belichick is talking about being on your own goal line, not the opposing teams'. He's explaining that if the offense is backed up on their own goal line, it makes sense for them to go to the hard count to try to get the Defense to jump offsides because they have nothing to lose (they can only be penalized inches). This is obviously the opposite of what happened in the Seahawks SB.
The results speak for themselves. As a Giants fan I'm glad he was with us for awhile and he always speaks fondly of those years and the organization. I think his talent is knowing how to coach and get the most out of each individual player he coaches. He doesn't coach every guy the same. He has his standards obviously but he doesn't expect players to be something they're not. He finds out what a player is particularly good at and has them do more of it. Everyone enjoys doing what they're great or good at. Then probably strengthens there weaknesses over time. Managers and bosses would be wise to study this man. My humble opinion.
Tom D as a pats fan , I can’t hate the giants. Sort of morphed Bill into who he is now. They got all my respect. Hope Daniel Jones works out for you guys.
@@aris_mendez Thanks man. We'll see how he does Sunday and going forward. Got a long way to go. The team is bad but I'm glad we're building around Barkley and not odel. Good luck to you guys.
As a Bears fan with NO love for New England, I can honestly say GREATEST COACH EVER. The only ones who come close are Halas, Lombardi, Walsh, and Johnson (who would have won several more SB's had he not left Dallas). Brady owes A TON of his success to this guy.
they like to portray him as some evil villain... or being cold-hearted ... fact is he may make the tough roster decisions that are best for the TEAM, but he truly loves the players that respect the game and loves teaching football. this is the real Belichick... not the stonewall he gives the media
people have the same misconception about Red Auerbach back in the day. They see film of him stomping and shouting so they compare him to Vince Lombardi who treated his players like dirt. The reality is the opposite. Auerbach never yelled at his own guys and he treated his players like men. Belichick is the same, he treats his players like men and he celebrates with them when they win. He only yells when someone screws up, but thats every coach.
Lombardi did not treat his players like dirt. He was stern but compassionate. You are trying to defend an individual who was misunderstood while submitting another to that same treatment; c'mon, man.
The most beautiful part of this video is the convos with his son about his grandfathers history etc... young man will hopefully be able to watch these when hes older and really have that all sink in
Players are the most important assets gotta take care of them. Much respect for this man. They say "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to".
I'm Purple and Black thru & thru.... Ravens forever, but this man BB is on a whole 'nother level. He is a savage for real. His DNA is coaching and teaching. This was a great vid.
I'm a Dolphin fan and unlike most Phin fans, I have nothing but respect and admiration for their absurd and unreal dominance!! If they're cheating, Miami should take notes!
Love seeing Belichick talk about football. These stories from the Giants are great. Love him or hate him, real legends are rare. Belichick is a legendary coach as Brady is a legendary qb.
I picked up some great advice as a running back from bill I will never forget it. just this one wrinkle in game that he told me about that I fixed and now I’m getting so much better . Thanks bill
I'm not a Patriots fan but I really like this dude and his football acumen. He comes off as droll in press conferences but that's cause you can tell he doesn't like the media too much. In interviews and mic'd up videos like this, he seems like a real personable guy with a great sense of humor. I would be cracking up at him but would play hard as hell for him.
The part where he said "Catch it with your hands. Don't let it come into you and hit your pads" is where RECHE CALDWELL SHOULD HAVE LISTENED. The Patriots would have FIVE SuperBowls and Peyton Manning ZERO if Reche Caldwell listened to that advice.
+Robert Lei The image of Reche Caldwell's huge bug eyes after dropping the ball thrown right into his numbers in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship Game still haunts me.
BJMcB92 And it sucks because he made that huge catch the week before against San Diego. Like Welker's drop in Superbowl 46, he made so many catches previously that it made it harder to digest.
You can hate Belichick, Brady, and the patriots if you want. But if you do, understand you're not a football fan You simply cannot be a lover of the game of football and hate that organization and the head pieces. Just like you can't love basketball and hate popavich, Duncan, and the Spurs. Royalty in their respective sports have to be respected if you love the game
vihockeyguy1 Exactly! The attacks against this dynasty has made them greater 16 years and counting and anyone who is nieve to think it's anything but greatness! All 32 teams are on an even playing field believe that. Success breeds envy especially in the salary cap era where parity is not suppose to exsist Coach Belichek mastered it and form the only dynasty and team to repeat this millennium and the Salary cap and this will be the final dynasty that will end at two decades! Parity will come into play and as time passes and a decade goes by of all different champions that will be the parity the NFL longed for by installing the cap but the Genius and #Goat figured that code out and spoiled there plans and the league and owners resent them for that and that's why we have had to deal with the bs.
Love how he asked Russ Francis about that one play against San Francisco...Bill new everything about what happened in that one game. Russ Francis was like dude I don’t fucking know!🤣💀
"I'm making them run because they had so much energy to fight and they haven't fought since then". Fuckin A, Bill B. Is hilarious. Dude's a lot funnier than ppl give him credit for
I love how everyone calls Bill a cheater when every coach in the NFL was doing the same exact thing for years prior. The NFL just decided to make an example out of Bill to prove their point to the rest of the league. And also, filming your opponents sideline was legal and considered a part of the game for years before the NFL stepped in.
Dave Dorger yeah you're right... mccarthy didn't even become a head coach until the year before it was implemented... smh. many coaches have come out and said it was commonplace, including jimmie johnson and his cowboys dynasty... And how do we know coughlin didnt? the only reason the league acted is because the jets hc at the time was on the patriots staff years prior and was the whistleblower after his team got trounced by the patriots (sounds familiar, deflategate?). He has also come out since and said he wishes he had never said anything
Best coach in NFL. I hate how people mention spygate, every team used to scout and send people to the oppositions training sessions the only difference is the Pats got caught
what's even funnier is that the Butler interception play was just installed last minute during the defenses walk through inside the hotel the day before the game
What's truly even more amazing than how legendary of a head coach Belichick is, is the fact that he's also the de facto GM as well. Lump that all with the fact that several of his defensive coordinators were mere signal callers, just surreally shows the vast amount of responsibility he undertakes with this organization, along with near total power and control he has over it's operation. Just crazy. But they say most geniuses are.
Hate all you want. I bet if you had a chance to have Belichick and Brady on your teams in the 2000's, you'd take it in a heartbeat. Anyone who says 'no' obviously doesn't know anything about football or player/coach talents and skills. Those two have been the best at their jobs for the last decade and a half. Even Bob Kraft is top 3 for best owner. This organization is amazing from top to bottom.
The funny thing is almost everyone outside NE hates belichik except I bet none of them would really complain if he became their favorite team's head coach outside maybe the steelers, giants and seahawks.
@@branden3785 Patriots had the ball at the 1yd line after the INT. Stork gave some head bobs, Tom with the hard cadence, and they drew Bennett offsides... its literally the exact scenario Bill is describing lol. Sure he's explaining it to a DL in this clip, but he's obviously explained it to his OL as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yLI5jacHAaM.html
I am not a Patriots fan however, I have such huge RESPECT for what this team does every year. It it’s no secret, that Belichick is a absolute football genius! Not only does he know the game inside and out but his ability to lead his staff and players to the commitment of excellence is jaw-dropping! I am a Dallas fan and have to endure the misery of watching an organization screw it up year after year since Jones ran off Jimmy Johnson! Belichick and Johnson are very close friends and you wonder how he was able to get to and win Superbowls? 23 years since Dallas has been to a Super Bowl but the Patriots threaten every single year! Belichick is the best!
