BMW 8HP gearbox ISN reset custom cable... for the Autel IM608

Good job Luis, I do the same always after flashing ecu's for example for immo off or for airbag clear. I manage wiring to diagnose engine and airbag ecu's on bench and that's really very helpful. That's quite easy when we understand what are we doing and what are we looking for. More success from ur Algerian follower.

Do you ever get faults you can’t fix? It seems like you are extremely knowledgeable and always fix the faults.

Nicely done . You could have asked me about the possibility to clear the ISN with the IM . I never made a dedicated connector like you did because I am pretty lazy to be honest . The first time I needed it I wrote down the pins, made a drawing and used an old obd receptacle . The few times I have used it the last 2 years I really didn´t even think about fitting a plug on the side that goes into the gearbox .

I'm all'so technician I'm thinking im608 purchased maxisys ELITE purchased im608 all lost key and progarming it's good but now I know it's diagnostic bmw and Benz all'so thank you in future I'm not confused

Excellent! How much did you spend for the IM608? Would you suggest it as a general diagnose tool? Also you only connected to the can bus. Doesn't the can bus of the gear box connect to the vehicle ODBII port? Is it an isolated bus? I teach automotive electronics to automotive technicians. One of my advices is to never discard looms. Sort the good part and create adapters, break out boxes etc.

Can you please provide some assistance? I made a cable just like yours for an 8HP swap into an F10 5 series, here is how I have it connected: High/Low CAN lines: OBD pins 6 & 14 hooked up to pins 5 (CAN low) and 6 (CAN high) with 120ohm resistor between the two CAN lines Ground: OBD pins 5 & 6 are linked and connected to pin 14 (Where else should I connect the ground as per the schematic?) +12V Power: OBD pin 16 linked to pins 9 & 13, I have female power plug connected inline between the OBD plug and transmission for +12V power adapter to plug into When I connect I can hear the mechatronic unit "click" and hear that it has power however I do not have any voltage displayed on the IM608 and it will not communicate. do you have any idea what I am missing?

There's a kit you can get to bypass the Cass module the one that locks the streering wheel I think

Great idea! I need help with a 2016 bmw 528i. Transmission says EGS: unlocked ISN: erased I have tried programming and coding with IM 508 and Maxisys Elite with no luck. Any suggestions?

After oil change, i have an permanent error: "CF1461: Message (diagnosis OBD engine, 0x397) missing, receiver EGS (A-CAN and FA-CAN), transmitter DME / DDE (A-CAN and FA-CAN)". there is a possibility that the plug was not correctly inserted and there was also oil in it. it was cleaned and reintroduced. what do you think of this message?

Hi all! Any ideas if im608 can program Mercedes transmission 7G 722.9 a used transmission has been installed. The operation required two steps (if i'm right). 1-Reset the new (used) control module (make ECU virgin). 2-transfer the data from the old(original ECU) to the donor control unit. My Question if Autel IM 608 can do this I would like to by one by not sure if it do it. Thanks for the help

Once it's reset do you use Istap to program and code and write new isn? How does istap get isn to write? Does it just let you input an isn you want?

once this is reset can this module be used in another Vehicles? if so does it give you the option to change the Vin?

Interesting, older ones just needed some programing to work. Do you need the 120ohm resistor because theres another 120ohm inside the mechatronic?
