Welcome to our channel! Today we show the rear rotors and pads replacement procedure on this 2016 BMW 320i xDrive.
Autozone parts:
Rotors part #: 73048DL
Brake pads part #: D1613
Don't forget to use thread lock on the caliper Bracket bolts and some grease on the guide pins for the calipers!!!

hi, you need to reset the sensor after installation or it just reset by it self?

You should remove and discard that axle cap. It creates rust and was removed by BMW in later versions.

The rear caliper bracket bolts are TTY (torque to yield), you should replace them every time you loosen.

Thank you so much for sharing that! It would be nice if every parts vendor would include them in with the brake pads but unfortunately that’s not the case also it depends on how much the customer is trying to spend! But great info again and I am glad my video was helpful for you!

Do I have to release the tension spring under the handbrake in the car to allow the rear discs to be removed.

If you have manual hand brake then yes for sure!!

Hello, is there a break pad wear sensor on all 4 wheels? I'm seeing them sold as a single sensor for the front or rear when I expected them to be sold as a pair for the front or rear. Thx.

There is one on the front driver and one one the rear passenger!

Do you know the torque values for the guide pins, caliper bracket and tire? Thank you.

you don’t want to torque to those values unless you’re installing all new hardware. And as far as I know the wheels are torqued to 90lb.

You only need to torque to specs if you’re changing the guide pins and caliper brackets new otherwise you don’t have to as far as the wheels most bmws torque to 90 ~ 100 ft-lbs

Anti seize lubricant CRC from Autozone or O’reilly and the thread lock is Permatex brand!

If your car is equipped with electronic parking brakes then yes you will have to release the parking brakes with a scanner depending on which kind of scanner you have but the function should be under Service

I believe you need a scanner to be able to put it in service mode I know there is other ways on some other cars where you take off the cover of the electronic motor for the parking brake and you unscrew it all the way which will be service mode then screw if back in once you’re done but I am not sure if that method would work on bmw!

Ok thanks. I know some older cars you have to turn the parking switch on and off and turn the ignition a few times to turn on that service mode light. Newer cars can just be placed in service mode through the HDMI screen on the center console by going to the service menu then brakes then service mode. I figured with all of BMWs technology it would be on the menu lol dammmmit! Gotta get me a nice scanner already 🤦🏽
