so this game was essentially made using the pirated bootleg script for Observer and Gears of War, an outdated version of Microsoft Powerpoint, a budget of a pack of gum and a $10 gift card to Arby's, and the beautiful voice of a Bing translator. amazing. absolutely splendid.
Same, I sorta misunderstood his personality during the earlier years, but wasn't paying too much attention to that kind of content. Now he's one of my favorite channels on YT.
You aren't sure if it's bad when Charlie says it's bad because bad is subjective but then you rewatch the video and realize it's actually really bad but then you forget you saw this and buy it on PS4 and find out again that it's bad
Jay Ku And yet people (and by people, I meant the oblivious critics and gamers) will be defending this game just because it's chinese game. There are many good chinese games out there...is just that many of those are mostly on mobile and PC, while the console ones (like this one) are very hit and miss (70% are mediocre-terrible, 30% are actually being decent). Though the quality of chinese games is rather mediocre, even compared to Korean games (ignoring the boring mobile F2P online games).
How do games like this even get made? Like who are the people putting money into the production? Do they actually think they’ll get a good return on that investment? Do the people making them take pride in their work? There’s about as many questions regarding the making of this as there are issues with the game.
I think I have an answer. This is what happens when a company that has no right getting investors gets investors. They then start to make their game without realizing the scope of what needs to get done and has a shit project manager. An example of over promising and under delivering, and they have a board of directors breathing down their necks to release something soon, so they can start to recoup their money. They rush 80% of the game and everyone loses. Think No Mans Sky but on a much lesser scale
Chinese people will buy it, some worship it, some find out it’s fake Gears of War and spit on it, the studio got money anyway so they will keep doing this, and pirating doesn’t cost that much.

Godzilla PS4, Past Cure, No Man's Sky, Seven Deadly Sins KoB, New Gundam Breaker, Destiny 2, Star Ocean 5, Star Wars Battlefront (EA), Devil's Third and those SAO games are way more fun than this crap. Hell, EDF is almost in the same vein as this game but that game is way more fun due to the weapons that you use, the battles and the multiplayer. Gene Rain is just as bad as Umbrella Corps, except it doesn't have multiplayer, the voice acting is worse, and it's $5 more.
You can hear the Phantom Ruby sound effect from Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces in the game at 1:00 and 11:52. I didn’t know they were collaborating with SEGA on this game.
"what are you going to use a hammer for in surgery?" Pretty much any and all orthopedic surgery. Ortho surgery is basically carpentry with bones. Not even joking. There's a lot of hammering and sawing that happens as well as drilling and inserting of screws. And probably some screwing too.
I love that one line, "It's so cool!" Dude, it's like that "mech" is basically a mobile stair-climber that shoots cotton balls, step off. That pistol-rifle, though. That was awesome. Like, face-palm-worthy, but awesome in the sense of "That is just so friggin' idiotic, it's kinda funny."
Thank you Playstation for allowing another quality Title such as this to grace your Platform, though I do not believe this to be as Exquisite as "Life of Black Tiger" it does have a quite impressive showing. Overall "Gene Rain" is quite the Experience and thus I Must Grant it the Highest honor a game such as it's self deserves, I bestowe the Hallowed "Fart in a Jar" Award unto this Masterpiece.
