Found an online auction for a big motorcycle collection in Pennsylvania. There were a lot of great deals to be had but I found one I could not pass up. A 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300 ABS with Zero miles!
I brought it home and prepped it to be started. She purrs like a kitten.

Great bike, great find! Mine is an 03 without the ABS, and it's been purring for 40,000+ miles and still going!

Do you even sell that Nighthawk? I’m looking for one of those at the moment and I couldn’t find a decent one yet. Pretty cool Yamaha you got your hands on though. Looks even better without the saddles. Keep up the good work... how’s Mr. two btw?

My wife thinks I should sell all of my other motorcycles now that I have this one but I have until spring to decide. I will have some MR2 updates soon.

StarkReality I’m willing to go all the way from Houston to get that Nighthawk. Been dreaming about doing a project with it. Fingers crossed from now on though

With zero miles, why dump the unused oil? I'd have run a couple fuel tanks through with the factory Yamalube.

I wasn't sure 15 year old oil was the best to start running it on. Better safe than sorry kind of thing. I changed all of the fluids. Then did an oil and filter change at 500 miles. No issues at all thankfully.

@@StarkReality Yeah they say motor oil shelf life is 5 years or so. Not sure what would break down while just sitting in an unused engine with no gas dilution. It would be interesting to get an oil lab test on 10yr old NOS oil. Still, I'd get some use out of it for ring-seating/break-in and put the good stuff in after 300-500mi.
