As I watch your Flosstube and many others, I wonder if stitching is the answer to world peace. There is no strife, no discord or anger in our community. We shop around the world. We make friends in all countries. We reach out and support people who live in countries that are war torn or having other difficulties. I love stitching, flosstube and the love and peace in our community.
Agree! I’ve often commented we need to introduce needlework into the prison system - sure there would be challenges with the types of tools we use but the peace it would bring to their minds . . .
Joy I totally agree with you. I've watched grown men with anger and immense sadness learn to stitch and within a very short period of time it's like a complete attitude change bc its a huge form of self expressionism and it's healing and the needlework world is so amazingly peaceful. Lovely comment ❤❤😊😊
Wowza!! ❤❤❤Thanks for the nice words Brenda!! I was wondering why so many people are favoriting my Etsy!!! It's on vacation until tomorrow as I was busy at a big quilt show in Akron, Ohio this past week. I just love making these journal!! So happy to help out this wonderful community! Love you ladies!! Hugs from NE Ohio.🥰❣❣❣❣❣❣
I want the two of you to know that you both are absolutely incredible! I look forward to watching each one of your flosstubes , you put so much information and fun into each one of your flosstubes , perfect . The stitching you do and finish are amazing . It’s as if you give me permission to start more than one item to work on . Thank You for sharing your wonderful flosstubes with all of us .
Hold on til retirement, girls!! You’ll get there!! I was the same way! Now that I’m retired it’s like paradise!! No one telling me what to do and when I have to do it!!! LOL😊😊
Same! Every day is Saturday. There is no dread in the pit of my stomach on Sun nights. There are no Mondays ☺️. No one is the boss of me 🤣. It’s heaven 🙌. Can’t wait until Brenda and Laura join us!!
I love DMC and I love silk. The project tells me what it needs. For example, I wouldn't do a morose halloween project with silk, yet there are certain samplers that really radiate with a silk thread. I love how this community just loves what we do without judgment!!
I agree with you April...DMC is all I stitch with...I stitch on a tight budget so its great on that & I love that it makes my projects pretty as all other projects...😊
DMC has been producing cotton floss for over 300 yrs. I’d say that company knows their business. I’ve been told for 50 plus yrs that I’ve been stitching that if you made a project with DMC threads that if you need to match it up to a project you made say 300 yrs ago the threads would still match. Hiya!!! Man, haul is right! Love to see everything you two are up to ~ stitching has mended my soul for sure, and watching your videos fills my heart ~ thank you for the kind mention! ❤❤❤❤
You ladies made my day...I have been struggling with my spirit this week. Knowing that my cross stitch obsession soothes the soul is what keeps me going. glad it helps you too!
I just discovered your channel. I am a quilter and knitter. I have cross stitched a little. You keep me company during the day. I have been down since my husband passed in December. I have been watching your old videos, you make me laugh! I love your remarks and the faces you make. Many of the things you say apply to quilters, and all crafters. I am a serial starter. I am 69 and retired and I have more starts than I could finish if I lived until 100.
We are sending you love, love, and more love Mary Rose. We also send our deepest sympathies in the loss of your husband. We are grateful that we can provide a slice of happiness to you. Glad you are a serial starter!!! We have to stick together!!!! Hugs!!!!!!
Lovely video ladies ❤!! You both inspire me. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit as always. Much love from Canada 🇨🇦. Cross stitch makes everything better !! Agreed 👍
Oh say!, how precious is your friendship, your enthusiasm, and all the joy and laughter you bring to us. You’re my “most” favorite floss tube. Your stitching, stash, and plans just give me a H&H. Love you to pieces and happy stitching.
A trade with Susan Standley for a quilt!?! What a prize to get!!! I always love your videos! I save them until just the right time to watch so I can absorb every little bit. Thank you.
My grandparents were a Methodist and a Baptist. My parents were a Methodist and a Baptist. I was raised in both…so I ended up an Episcopalian! 😊 Y’all are feisty today!
Wow! That was a haul-a-palooza……I loved every minute of it. I sure hope work gets better for both of you…..I think your upcoming retreat will help. Enjoy going through that box of goodness from your grandmother and mother. Love you both. Blessings and take care.
Two more thoughts to share! I too loved buying my large box of crayons each Fall, and maybe that inspired our love for color! I am just sure of it. Also, I have a dear friend who is an amazing stitcher, and she has worked all,of her cross stitch in Danish Flower Thread for years. I wish you could see how beautiful her models are! Always fun to try something new. 🤗👏
I commented some time ago that even tho I don't do samplers, they intimidate me, you two are my favorite flosstube to watch. You responded that it's just one stitch at a time. Well, Florence Mary Dickinson came along and jumped out at me so I decided to give a sampler a try. I started it New Years Day, despite being sick with Covid, and I have a little border and her last name and age to do!! I have enjoyed every stitch, except maybe the deer!! Thank you for giving me the encouragement to take it one stitch at a time. Can't wait for your next appearance on RU-vid.
THAT IS SO EXCITING WANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It just gives us a thrill to know we had a part to play in you stitching Florence Mary!!!!! Hugs!!!!
Oh Brenda...you made my day when you let the "Damn" word slip! I, too, am a Methodist, and it just shows that we Methodists are human too!! Love watching the two of you...keep up the GREAT work!! 🥰
Just keep rambling! 😂 You both are so much fun. I started stitching in late 2021 and only found you all a year ago. I went back to your first video and watched everything until I got to where I started. Your Flosstubes during the Covid madness were great. I love how you both didn't focus on Covid during your videos. I'm sure that gave everyone a break. The love of stitching has always been at both of your hearts. Thank you. ❤
You guys are the highlight of my day. It's going to be a LONG 3 weeks. Brenda, I loved your comment "I only do Facebook for the stitching, not all the other crap." My sentiments exactly. I hope work gets better for you both. Retirement is heaven! Happy stitching!
Brenda I am waiting to see the treasures coming to you in the box from your Grandmother! You both bring such energy in your sharing of all things stitching! Thank you for this great way to spend time on Sundays! Happy stitching❤️
Thank you for the kind words about my wife Corrin. We got an email today from someone telling us that our fabric was mentioned here. Even better when someone mentions that they love my wife’s fabric. Thank you for the kind words!
Another gr8 floss tube. Husband is watching Cool Hand Luke and I’m watching 2 of my favorite stitchers. Like Brenda, I can’t/don’t like stitching what others are stitching at the same time.
I love watching everything you are doing and what you are planning to do. It is also great how you share so much as to what you have purchased and who from.
How wonderful to see that your Schoolgirl Sewing Club Box arrived Brenda! I hope you enjoy stitching Jane Sandon, and her companion sampler later in the year. It's always lovely to see how our boxes travel and arrive. Jx
Thank you Julie!!!! Every time I (Laura) do not join a club.....I am mad at myself! I should have joined! Next year!!! You always do beautiful clubs and everything else. Someday we hope to visit in person and see our friends Robin and Sue and Jean and Reecie there too!
Ok! So some MAJOR enabling happened today!!! I have been contemplating The Wishing Thorn Tindale Sisters & now I know I must have it. MANY YEARS AGO I stitched something with the Ginny Thompson flower thread & LOVED IT! So much goodness today as usual! But I may have to watch again!
I just love you ladies!! ❤️❤️ Every time I listen to your Flosstube, you put a smile on my face😊😊😊 Thank you for taking time out of your lives to share your love of cross stitching with us.
Brenda, I too am a Methodist!!! My great grandparents (back around 4-5 “greats”) were one of the founding fathers of a small rural Methodist church in northwest MO!! Such gorgeous works and finishes as always, ladies!!!
I need to thank you for the heads up about the Inspired Needles moving their shop to Palm Coast. I watched their RU-vid with the tour of the facilities. I commented to them of how excited I was to have their shop near me. They answered and send me the address. It will be about 20 minutes from my house. How great is that. Thank you again. I always enjoy watching your show.
Awwwww!!!! So instead of 20 minutes from my house, Inspired Needle will be 20 minutes from your house Martha~!!! I am happy for you!!! You are in for a treat!!!! Cathy is wonderful!
Hey no shame in DMC threads I stitch in all the threads but DMC is still the one I use the most . I have no close by LNS so it is what it is! Also I’m only about two min in… you know me… The Multiple Comment Gal… and I already snorted my drink when Brenda blurted out her “Damn” mainly it’s the reaction from the two of you that cracks me up . 😂😂😂😂 it’s a crummy cold windy and yes SNOWY day in Iowa so am so looking forward to stitching and watching you …. Here we go…..
You two always amaze me at how you are able to recall who stitched what on Instagram, and where you saw it. I wish I had a good memory like that! Happy Sunday to both of you. ❤ - Sheri
You ladies give new meaning to Sunday, love your videos. So many beautiful Samplers to stitch and Brenda your shopping skills are great! I hope theirs lots of goodies and memories in that box your waiting for thats so exciting. Thank you both for another wonderful video. 😊
I can't help but smile every time I watch the two of you! Thank you for bringing such a fun Flosstube into our lives! Love all the haul and beautiful linen! Mary Gybson is a must! Enjoy your stitching!
Retail therapy always makes me feel better too! But my budget!!! DMC has become my preferred floss but I will splurge on a variegated floss if it just makes the design. Many of the fancy flosses are still more difficult to get. Enjoyed the video and will be looking forward to the next one! Happy stitching!
Afternoon Brenda and Laura another great video I so look forward to my visit with you lady's. I am stitching oan a Hardanger sampler while visiting today am loving it... :) lots o yummy goodness you are showing us. I have Hannah Campbell waiting to be kitted up and I have a new start We Are The Sampler Makers by The Scarlet House. I also have bought The Victoria Sampler Bride's Tree Box and Twelve Ornaments,,,, Christmas Hearts Sampler and Ornament,,,, Christmas Fire Sampler one of these will be started when I finish this Hardanger sampler by Mary Hickmott. Together we count... happy stitching...
Great video as always my friends!!! Awesome haul!!! Laura, I have Harriet Taylor’s Chart and say to myself why haven’t I started that?????? It’s crazy!!! Love you gals, Lynn
Fabulous flosstube today! Thanks for making me laugh today. It's been a difficult day & laughing made me feel better. Sitting on my porch & of course stitching. Life is good!
Enjoyed watching. I'm excited to visit Hobby House for the first time very soon. EEK! Take care. Hoping work settles down and stitching continues to bring joy. Can't wait to see what was in grandmother's box. Happy Stitching! 🧵
Hi Brenda & Laura! Thanks a million, as always, for another super-fun & inspiring video! I enjoyed every second stitching along while watching you this afternoon! Such a treat! Take care, and I’ll see you in three weeks! Hugs! 😊😊
Fun and fabulous! I can’t tell you how many people have contacted me to congratulate me on stitching the beautiful Hannah Campbell from two weeks ago!!! I guess you can only have ONE friend named Melissa!!! The “game-changer” years ago for me about stitching over one thread on linen was using a small spring hoop which keeps the linen nice and taut! And not pulling too tightly! Of course, you can say that about all stitches!! I also got a great tip from Nicola several years ago about Satin Stitches - always use one strand and go two passes over the section - up and back! The stitches lay beautifully! I enjoyed your FlossTube today so much! Have fun on your next adventure! ❤️ Love to you both.
I belong to the Grace Notes Fabrics FOTM club. Grace Notes is a family owned and operated small business. Corinn and her family create beautiful fabrics. Grace Notes is holding their very first retreat in August (August 10-13) this year and I think there are still a few slots available. I hope you enjoy stitching on her fabric as much as I do!!
I would love to see the sewing box decorated with mini quilts, etc…I used to make mini quilts many years ago and just love them! I absolutely love watching the two of you, although it takes a lot of self-control to not jump online and do major shopping! I can’t wait to see your flosstube in spite of all the enabling. You’re both just a joy to watch!
Another parade of beautiful things (and the stitching's not bad either 😁) But seriously, hope you both have a great break, that work slows down, you stitch lots of your new patterns, and that you enjoy opening your Grandmother's box of treasures!
RE: Previous flosstube…I can’t railroad without thinking of your twisted panties reference! 😂😂😂 Today when I separate me threads, I tap, tap, tap the top of I can grab that one thread easily! Love your videos! ❤
Thanks for another fun video. You two always bring me such joy. And you both are pretty good enablers yourself as I sit here with my wooden floss winder and wait for my Whilst Iris Naps exclusive and HATS exclusives 😂. It’s all good ❤. I’m also trying to figure out if I want to do Nicola’s birthday charts in a different color than red. The ones stitched in blue that I’ve seen online are very tempting. FYI, I bought my stitching box online from Country Sampler.
Loved watching/listening to both of you while I stitch the sunflowers on the "Titmouse"- Teresa Kogut! The two of you are a real hoot! The laughs keep coming!🤪Have a wonderful week and keep stitching! ❤ All the best! 🌻
Ladies, what a joy to spend time with you both this morning in Ireland. Such pleasure in your friendship & absolute love of stitching. I look forward to seeing what's in the box of treasures with wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful few weeks with, hopefully, lots of stitching time. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
The two of you bring sunshine on a gloomy day. Thanks so much. I too stitched "Remember Me" by Scattered Seeds. I used Hand Dyed Linen by Stephanie, Vintage Toasted Almond., 36 count. I did a small pillow finish, with the dark blue for cording. So petty. It made me happy that you received the Flower Thread to stitch with. I am sure you will be pleased with how it works. Their web site shows soooo many colors, over 100 I think. Laura has the most expressive eyes when things are happening. LOVE IT. No one can be grumpy after they spend time time the two of you in a video. 😀
Well your inspiration really hit me today! I broke down and ordered Mary Gibson! Brenda-my father was a Methodist minister!!! So of course, I really needed the sampler! Everything today was great!
I’m sorry work has been so stressful, but I so enjoyed your epic haul segment! Laura, thank you for taking the time to answer my question about shops in your area. Hopefully my husband will be playing golf and I will have a block of five hours or so to travel and shop. We may be going to Wisconsin later in the week, so Spring Green is in my plans. Happy stitching.
I had a wonderful time with you ladies today. I am stitching Pray Always by Salt & Pepper Stitching while I watched your great video! I am so happy you are receiving your box of stitchery from your mom and aunt today!! And Laura, I am dying to see all the treasures in your gargantuan bag!!!! Love you guys!!❤
You ladies are so much fun to watch and such an inspiration! And Brenda, I watched your tour of your stitching space and samplers awhile back and have been obsessed with spool cabinets since then. My husband has been, as well, and we have started a collection. I am not sure whether to thank you or not! Lol But we love them...and I just love the energy you ladies put out!😊
Three weeks is going to be a long time without you both. I have it marked on my calendar for your return. Brenda - WOW - fabulous haul! I have got to get that Scattered Seeds Remember Me chart pronto! I am so happy for you that a box of needlework from your grandmother is coming your way. Laura, your special bag of goodies is wonderful! There are charts you pulled out that I have never seen before. Happy stitching!
