If my brother was nice enough to pay for my wedding dress, I’d be damn sure careful to keep within budget! It’s ungrateful to have a gift of 5000 bucks offered to you and try to squeeze more than he is willing to give!

Plus, alterations are going to add probably another $1000... When I went bridal dress shopping I went to a store where they specifically stated most of the gowns were second hand and under $1000. I found a beautiful dress for under $900

My budget was $300 at David's Bridal and I found one for exactly for $300 that fit me perfectly and I had to get a size 18. I definitely agree that quality does NOT always depend on the price tag.

That's why I'm just gonna make my dress when the time comes. Get fabrics on sale and everything. Plus I'm a short person so it'll take less fabric. And by that time, I'll have lost a lot of weight(yes I'm talking like 10 years from now or something so perfectly reasonable that I can reach that goal)so then it'll take even less fabric. It'll be fun to say that I MADE my own dress.
