Colin had Zero game! He spent every episode with his mouth hanging open and saying nothing. They definitely messed up his character by trying to have him be a Rake - he just doesn't have that type of swagger. They also should have had Pen make him work for it - after that carriage scene, she should have been like "you can go now, goodnight" and shut the door. If she wants lessons, she should be hanging out with Lady Tilly (the woman that Benedict is sleeping with) instead of asking Colin to help her.

It'll come later in the season, but Colin will cop to having always having feelings for Penelope he just didn't know what they were or how to identify them because they were friends, but there was a reason he held her in such high esteem. For Colin, Penelope wasn't an option because she didn't make it known that she had feelings for him. The kiss they shared is what opened his eyes to the feelings he's had for her, but didn't recognize and the only reason it looks like he was making a move when Debling showed an interest was because he realized he could lose her. What he really wanted was for her to be happy which is why he asked if Debling proposed before he decided to share how he was feeling about Penelope with Penelope. If she accepted Debling's proposal he wouldn't have confessed his feelings for her because he didn't want to ruin her chance at happiness if it was to be found elsewhere without him. He was struggling with reasons for why Penelope shouldn't be with Debling because he really just wanted to be the one for her and really didn't like that Debling intended to be away from Penelope for years at a time. Even without Debling's interest, Colin had already started to fall for Penelope after that kiss. Another suitor just meant that they'd snatch away what he hadn't realized he'd had all along because of their friendship.

I loved this season I mean in season 1 Daphne and Simon their chemistry wasn’t for me wasn’t strong then season 2 Anthony and Kate they had chemistry but they took to long I liked their scenes in season 3 but I wasn’t really waiting to see them a lot I cared more about Colin and Pen since season 1 when I first watched the series I shipped them felt their chemistry and didn’t know that this series was taken from books and that they are supposed to get together when I found out I was happy and after finishing watching season 3 part 1 I went to read the book it’s amazing and I love it, this season is my favorite. I liked the guy that wanted to propose to Pen but she wants love not someone to marry her and leave her to travel she was already alone yes he liked her personality but he wasn’t falling in love and yes she enjoyed her time with him but when it got serious and he talked to her about proposal she looked like she didn’t want but she will force herself to accept which is wrong and sad so I am happy she didn’t get with him, I didn’t really care that Colin was a playboy it was obvious that he was trying to fit in society which was sad that he think that was the way and him realizing his felling after a kiss was actually realistic I know people who were best friend and something needed to happen for them to realize their feelings and the proposal was amazing it shows Pen that he is serious and not horny because of the kiss also they can get closer while they are engaged even after their marriage.

This is a man who pledged to take care of her in season 2. Where is he? Instead he just goes off to be a slut in 17 cities? And doesn’t give two shits about a friend not writing him back? Just goes and fucks some more sex workers and Countesses? Let me write about it in my journals too! 3. His apology was glib and unworthy of Penelope and their friendship. They made it about Penelope thinking she is unworthy not Colin being a drunk ass and insulting her to eligible bachelors/her chances on the marriage mart. 4.He didn’t bring presents🎁 back for her. So was he even thinking 💭 about her ? At all ? You would think when you’re shopping for presents for everybody someone who special to you would be on your mind to get them something. 5.Colin comes back does the same whoring about the entire time he is teaching Penelope lessons (for weeks apparently) and then kisses her because he feels sorry for her. Ugh that is so gross to me. 6.Then because he is supposedly so despondent over Pen having a suitor, he goes back to fuck some sex workers again. 7.He only gets up enough courage to tell Penelope how he feels once he knows she is getting proposed to. Like he couldn’t call on her, not even once, or bribe her maid again, to see her and explain how he feels. Instead it’s poor me me me me…. I keep asking myself why I should want ShondaColin with Penelope. She deserves sooo much better than him. You brought up Colin exchanging letters and if it was a bug deal 👀 the big deal was that he takes her UNCHAPERONED into seprate rooms behind closed doors (such as when he was telling her about fale necklace) and he damces with her multiple times each ball. (2 dances at one ball means you courting the miss an is a way of showing your intrest to othwr guys) and he always confides in her not his brothers kr friends etc. He has touched an held her hand too many times YOU DONT DO THAT TO JUST A FRIEND IN THOSE DAYS 😅 this why last season all the guys an even his family (even more in books) on his neck questioning him whats the deal is he serious abiut courting Pen or just being nice which is when he says how he'd never BUT THEN HE STILL PULLS HER ALONE UNCHAPERONED AND GETS ALL IN HER PERSONAL SPACE It's no wonder this poor girl Pen falling for him.
