OB Daz and Aidan react to a video explaining why Nikola Jokic is currently the most unguardable player in the NBA. Link to original video: • The Most Unguardable P... instagram: officeblokedaz
Jokic is really the first center that can do everything well, which is why no team can stop him. Swarm him, he passes to an open player. Block him at the basket, he takes an easy floater... If you allow him time while deep, he can hit the three. You can't even foul him, since he is excellent at free throws.
He doesn’t have explosive quickness or crazy depth in his bag. His game is “boring” to young people. So his greatness gets overlooked. Hence why he was snubbed of mvp this year. Gilbert arenas didn’t really get the recognition he deserved till he started trash talking.
@@Yerocco Joel earned it cause is a regular season award. But he never performs in post season. Jokic is good but regular season he did t deserve it over Joel
Yeah, reminds me of Tim Dunkin. Not his playing style per=say but the fact that he's quiet and stays out of the media and gets overlooked, meanwhile being one of the best centers of all time.
I loved after winning it all and asked by the reporter what it meant, he just said something like "we got the job done, can I go home now?" and he wasn't trying to be funny
At 6'11 & 285lbs Jokics size alone would put you through the physical paces. Everything he does is unique to only him. He plays through these odd efforts and dominates the game without making the highlight reel or even wanting the attention. Incredible fat boy, we love you here in Denver. KUDOS MVP !!!
Being in Denver is just a fantastic time right now as a sports fan. I haven’t felt like there’s been this level since Peyton (which isn’t THAT long in terms of other sport cities) but it’s magical.
The total offense stat always gives me goosebumps. We are witnessing something that has never been seen before. Someone who will be talked about decades and maybe even centuries from now.
let's go! glad yall got to this one. jxmmy does a good job of appreciating Jokic and how insanely good he is right now. NBA level coordination while looking about as coordinated as OB Mike in VR btw I think sneaky Jxmmy put Lebron lower on the chart than he should've 11:47 to create more separation from jokic lmao, he's at 53 on the chart with nearly 55 points generated
@@CS-lh1pnrazy how he says MJ is the GOAT but did something in favor of Bron, makes sense 💀 And its not for narratives, its because dumb people wont actually understand that he does infact hold the record. Ppl would be saying "Ah but it dont mean nothing, its so close" but it does, its still a record, and the separation just exemplifies it. Love how unbiased Jxmy, been watching him for years
NIKOLA JOKIĆ IS: HIM THE TRUTH THE ANSWER THE BIG TICKET THE BIG FUNDAMENTAL ☆☆☆NOT SINCE WILT!!!!!☆☆☆ SUPERMAN(APPROVED BUY SHAQ😉) NEO(HE FIGURED OUT THE MATRIX) THE BEST HUMAN BEING ❤️ THE BIG TIPPER THE JOKER BIG HONEY WCF MVP👊 THE BEST PLAYER IN THE GAME THE REAL MVP FINALS MVP!!!!!! NBA CHAMPION!!!!!! IN THE G.O.A.T. CONVERSATION 💯 To be continued....
I grew up north of Denver about 20 miles in a city called Longmont.. I’ve been a Nuggets fan pretty much all my life.. I remember the exact moment where I was the day and the time Nikola got selected as the 42nd pick in the 2nd round of the 2014 nba draft.. it was honestly one of the most bizarre decisions the Nuggets had ever made but I just felt something good about Joker.. I looked up some highlights on RU-vid of him playing in Serbia in 2011-2013 and it blew me away.. I knew we had one of the next great big men and possibly one of the best centers of modern NBA times and that’s no disrespect to Mr O’Neal.. love Shaq too ❤⛹️🏀
You guys should do some MLS reactions. Been some excellent matches in recent weeks! Figured with the prem on a break, it’d be cool to see. Keep up the great work!
From a footballing perspective, Jokic is kinda the Yaya Toure/Paul Pogba player that’s really good at pretty much every facet of the game and they play at the center of the pitch/court and you can literally build your team around them. Yaya and Pogba are quick, strong, technical, bigger than the average midfielder while still being pretty agile, Jokic is pretty much the basketball version of that. He can pass, shoot, is a 7ft giant and while not a high flyer he’s still a pretty imposing physical presence. His absolute worst quality is his slightly above average defence, which you can very easily mask with 4 other teammates.
If you want stats and good info on the NBA you need to check out "Locked on Sports" featuring a play-by-play man named David Locke from the Utah Jazz. The guy is a fricken' computer for statistics. He doesn't only write or discuss the Jazz but also the rest of the league as well. Cheers!
Daz, if you're looking for more Baseball Doesn't Exist videos to watch you should try one called "The Biggest Psychopath In Sports." You've mentioned soccer goalies all being kind of loony before and starting pitchers are cut from a very similar mold. Max Scherzer is one of the looniest.
Can’t Hack-a-Shaq. Can’t leave him open outside the perimeter. Can’t double-team him. The only plausible strategy is to put him in a position to get in foul trouble, which the Miami Heat did in Game 3 and Game 4 of the NBA Finals thanks to Spoelstra’s great coaching and the 6th Man (questionable officiating); however, the Nuggets bench was able to deliver anyway - alluding to a solid Nuggets team even when Jokić is off the court (even with a post season brick-factory from the usually reliable Michael Porter Jr.). The Nuggets are a defensive nightmare for other teams (let’s not forget about Jamal Murray who achieved a 30-point triple-double alongside Jokić in the same playoff game, which is the first time in NBA history, during an away game via Game 3 in the NBA Finals no less). Teams need to achieve a 3-point field goal percentage of 50% or higher to make up for the offense of the Nuggets. The Heat - along with a large portion of the NBA teams - live and die by the 3-pointer; the Nuggets are here to say, “Good luck with that!” The Nuggets/Jokić are forcing the 3-point OBSESSED NBA to change their game or run into a wall in the post season (the Nuggets).
Jokic won MVP in two previous seasons, so they didn't want to give him third in a row. They gave it to Embiid who was crying and campaigning to get it for last 3 years. Even race card was pulled claiming Jokic is getting voted MVP because he is white.
Definitely wrong Embid definitely had the better regular season and killed jokic when they played but Jokic was way better in the playoffs. And it was definitely the other way around everyone who thought jokic should’ve won it said he didn’t because he’s white… had nothing to do with race
It has nothing to do with color but you're not getting 3 in a row anymore. There are too many players who deserve it for what they do for their own team. The year after Bron won his last one he didn't get it the next year even though all of his numbers were better. I think they should either get rid of the MVP or announce it at the end of the season but IDC it doesn't really mean anything
Revenue college sports brings to schools: Nearly 50 public colleges and universities enrolled in NCAA Division 1 athletics have reported at least $100million in revenue for the 2022 fiscal year, led by Ohio State generating $252M. In addition to the Buckeyes, Texas, Alabama, Michigan and Georgia also reported earnings above $200M, according to data compiled by USA Today and The Knight-Newhouse Data project at Syracuse University. The SEC reached a $3billion deal with Disney in 2020, meaning all all of the league's games will appear on its network, including ABC and ESPN over the next decade starting in 2024. The Big Ten, on the other hand, agreed to a seven-year, $7B media rights agreement with FOX, CBS, NBC, to show league games on its network starting this season until the end of the 2029-30 athletic year.
Let’s see him do this in a league that isn’t bereft of other top level centers. Not taking away from his greatness but he isn’t playing against anyone. Shaquille O’Neal played against numerous hall of fame centers. Video is lacking plenty of context
Then he'd just pass better lmao. The most important statistic here is points generated directly at the end of the video. Offensive impact and skills overall makes him the most impactful offensive center ever. Sure shaq gets the same 30 as Jokic can but who has the most complete game than two of them. Jokic is better in more components to an offense than shaq is.
You play against who they put in front of you. Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid are both Hall-of-Fame locks (both better than 90% of the Centers Shaq faced), the game is just different now. Let's put Shaq in today's league where his entire offense would be an offensive foul now (an offensive foul for someone who is an atrocious free throw shooter) as well as in a league that is dominated by full-court basketball (with Shaq being infamous for his poor conditioning and gym work ethic). If we're gonna talk context, let's bring in the FULL context. Also, none of the all-time great Centers outside of maybe Wilt and Bill Russell will be willing/able to follow Joker to the 3-point line, and the ones who are willing run the risk at leaving the paint open for his cutters, eliminating the interior defense that legends like Kareem, Hakeem, and the Admiral would bring to the table. And to go back to Shaq, in his prime (when he was actually winning championships) he was going against Centers like Brad Miller, a 6'8 Ben Wallace, an always injured Yao Ming, and a WAY past their prime Mutombo, Alonzo, and David Robinson. So a lot of the Hall-of-Famers he faced on his Finals runs were Hall-of-Famers by name and resume, not by their play at the time. Shaq is still the 2nd greatest Center of all time in my eyes (only under Kareem) and is a personal favorite of mine, but let's not act like Jokic's production would fall off while playing in that era, especially since he thrives in half-court basketball. The one stat that MIGHT diminish is his assists, because of how poor the shooting was in the 90s and 2000s.
Jokic is probably the best center in the NBA right now, but the defensive efforts against him in this year's playoffs were abysmal at best. Go back and watch defenders stand around while he put on an exhibition.
I'm a Celtics fan so I hate the 76rs. But y'all not understanding how Embiid won the MVP is silly. Yes it was close, but that was not rigged. Joel was an absolute nightmare to play against. The people who have the vote are not imbeciles. The MVP is a regular season award. Playoffs mean nothing. The difference in defense is obvious and he also lead the league in scoring. I wish I was there, ' or any American' to explain the intricacies. Highlights don't mean shit. Some of the most important players don't crush the stat line. You two have no idea how often plays are affected by a player just being on the court. How much bigger would Shaq's stats be if players didn't change their plan when he was the second guy after you beat the first? I could go on longer but listen, watching highlight reels are not an indication of what really transpired. Marcus Smart won defensive player of the year last year. Look at his stat line. Embiid totally deserved the award.
In the end, the MVP is a worthless bauble. It's like receiving an award for completing 40km in a marathon. But if you don't cross the line about 2km ahead, you don't complete it. It's a completely irrational award that shouldn't exist.
