When making Woodland Scenic Rockface if you place a couple of nails - head first - into the plaster while it is setting, you can then attach the rockface to your cutting sides and it stays in place. The scene is looking very good.

A really enjoyable series. Brought back great memories of visits to Ffestiniog including full trip from Blaenau to Caernarfon. Model really captures the character of narrow gauge.

Great series of 3 videos Richard! Really liked the mix of footage of the railway and then the building of the layout. Really enjoyed watching and will be purchasing a copy of the Hornby magazine to CLP it off! Cheers Gary

You’ve certainly made a gorgeous little layout!! I absolutely adore visiting the Ffestiniog Railway. It’s exciting to ride on and has wonderful scenery. I can hardly wait to get back to it again in the next year or so.

Brilliant video as ever gents, and a great finale to the build series, do look forward to hopefully seeing the layout at an exhibition in the not too distant future. Can't wait to see whats coming up in future episodes of the show. Keep up the good work and stay safe Also, have you ever done a train formations guide on the transpennine route? If not, would you consider one for a feature in the magazine? Keep up the good work and stay safe James

If only I could start a Model Railway. A OO9 scale narrow gauge model railway. The first locomotive’s I would get are two Baldwin class 10-12-d’s.

newbie question, im just getting interested in model rail, i'm just browsing my first copy of hornby magazine bought today, & ive seen mention of 009 gauge, is that different from 00 gauge, if so how?
@hornbymag
@hornbymag 2 года назад
Hi, OO9 gauge is narrow gauge railways, OO is standard gauge. 😊

Richard, I always thought the crocodile clip should be 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 the baseboard when applying static grass. Is your method better? Looking at about 47:23 these must be the cleanest coach rooves I've ever seen, maybe worth bearing in mind if anyone is weathering models of Ffestiniog passenger stock.👍👌😁
@hornbymag
@hornbymag 3 года назад
The WWS applicators don't require the clip to touch, others do recomend it mind.

Richard, I’m a bit disappointed that you say you can’t pronounce Cwmorthin “because we’re in Wales”. It’s really not that hard and if it were any other nation you were disparaging in that way it would not be acceptable, so why is it acceptable about Wales?
@NewJunction
@NewJunction 3 года назад
Hi Tom, thanks for the comment! The light hearted comment was aimed at our own inability to pronounce the names, not in anyway a slant on the beautiful Welsh language. My family were originally from Wales and it was always a disappointment to my mother I was born a Geordie. All good fun. Kindest regards Richard
