Butcher Box does a fantastic job. I get about $300 a month from them. They are also loyal to existing clients. When supplies become lower then stay true to their current members and don't bring new subscriptions (especially now) The meats are fantastic tasting and I can tell because I grew up in South Dakota with my grandparents we're ranchers. Great quality meats and the prices are very good for what you get. Highly recommend.
Thanks for your comment, Gregory. Lots of people have commented on the price being high, but as you stated, the prices are actually very good for the quality of the meat. Glad you've had a good experience and thanks for sharing it here.
there boneless chops are heaven....i just placed a 2nd order...just me my nephew I work nights.he goes to college days..so I cook a meal every other day for us....the ground beef is good and the beef tips....u can tell the difference...the chicken boneless...is clean.......and I'm trying there steaks....we cant..wait...
BB had the reusable freezer bag and recipe booklet listed for shipment, but never sent it saying they discontinued sending both items. Their bacon consists of mostly fat. Will try Moink Box.
The quality is not anywhere near the same with Walmart meat. And organic is not the same as pasture-raised, but it's a step in the right direction. Thanks for the tip.
Walmart in my area has grass-fed, grass-finished beef for $5.99/lb. I'm a Butcher Box member but as more and more places begin carrying 100% grass-fed beef, I've been ordering the pork which is awesome! Heritage Breed Pork is where it's at!
Oh dang, the free bacon promo is over. Now they are offering $10 off per month for a year, and then free bacon with your first delivery for signing up. It looks like a great service. I'd have to buy another freezer if I signed up though. I just might do it!
You might be surprised how easily this amount of meat is stored. With everything being individually sealed, I was able to tuck each package in to little open spots in my freezer. But it did encourage me to clean out the stuff that had been in there for wayyyyy too long to make sure I had space.
That's easy. Thaw the meat in the refrigerator for a couple of days first. I put mine in plastic shopping bags to help stop any drips. You will know it is defrosted when the meat is soft. Steaks and hamburger meat don't have to be defrosted so much. I take steaks straight out of the freezer & put them in the pan & cook. You can do the same thing with hamburger meat if you are not making meat balls or meat loaf. You scrape off the hamburger meat as it cooks & use in pasta dishes or sauces.
I looked for your second review and can't seem to find one. I did read one of your responses below about meat being delivered unthawed because of the summer months. But no actual review after thawing and cooking
Thanks, Daniel. Here's the last BB video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SykqL9ef18c.html Now that the weather is heating up again, I'm going to give them another try and see how it goes. I get emails all the time saying they "want me back" so I thought I'd try.
It's nice, but there are no whole chickens, chicken parts, or any bones at all like RFW wrote. Do they sell stock or something? There is nothing here I could use for soup. I would buy this occasionally, but not for all my meals.
I highly recommend US Wellness Meats - website is www.grasslandbeef.com. I've been ordering from them and very happy with everything. Their bones make great broth. They have chicken feet as well.
The 30 day meal regiment is called Whole30 and I highly recommend it. Just go to whole30.com for all the info. you need. And of course, I have lots of recipes on my channel.
I get the whole we need to go organic grass fed pasture raised to be more healthyer but how can we not know if these products you buy on the internet or even in the grocery store are in fact grass fed and not some type of false advertising scam to making a little more money on there meat products. I like to do this. But im skeptical and find it hard to trust any company that selling there product to be what it is. When i can just get a cheaper cut of meat thats not for say grass fed.
You just have to do your research and make an informed decision. And yes, part of it is a leap of faith. You are trusting these people to tell the truth. There are certifications to look for, which Butch Box has. There is also a difference in the taste and texture of pasture-raised meat that is fairly easy to detect. If all of that is not satisfactory, look for a local farm you can visit.
It's worth it, grass-fed and grass finished which is most important, most places only sell organic or both organic and grass fed but, not grass-finished. I only buy the beef box, since its good deal plus, they are having a promo for 2 pounds of ground beef for the life of your membership until the end of the month or free bacon and $20 off your order.
I'm working on a follow-up video, but in the mean time, I can say that I've been happy with everything except the chicken breasts. Some pieces are great and some are pretty tough. I think this is common with white meat chicken, which is why I don't usually buy it. I do think the boxes I've received have been a good value, but if I switch to choosing my own cuts, the added cost would tip the scale to be not worth it. This is just my opinion. If I keep receiving 6 pounds of chicken breasts every month, I'm going to have to re-evaluate. I hope that helps.
Hey there! I hope you love your box. I've been happy with everything so far. After three months, I did have to cancel one month because we weren't able to eat everything. Plus, we were not eating fish anymore because we had all that meat! I think we may settle into the every other month schedule as well.
So far it has been great. We had ordered Chicken, steak, hamburgers and breakfast sausage. Pasture raised and finished is so important considering the factory farming that is prevalent today. I will change up the next order so as to have more variety. I am subscribing, thanks again!

For anyone looking into BB: Here is my 100% true personal experience. I ordered a custom beef box for $129 and chose (6) items: Sirloin tips, Filet Mignon, Ribeye, NY Strip, Burgers and Sirloin Steaks. I then was supposed to get bonus Bacon and and Sirloin tips. I was pretty excited. Box arrived today and I am missing (3) items: Filet Mignon, NY Strip and bonus bacon. I did however receive ground beef that I did not select. I went online to complain and happen to see that my order was in as a monthly subscription which I was not aware of. I quickly cancelled it of course. I then chatted with customer service and they gave me a $46 refund for the unshipped items. That was the only option they gave me, I was not able to return the box and they did not offer to ship missing items. I guess I did not exactly get screwed here money wise but it was not a good experience to say the least. I hope the meat is good at least
you should give eating less meat a try, there's not a need to eat meat for every meal. Beans, legumes, ancient grains, seeds, eggs, soy, all other viable sources of protein.
No, actually I most likely know my nutrition, I'm in the medical field and have a lot of knowledge I'm 180 lbs of solid muscle and I'm healthy as a person could possibly be. It was just a suggestion, no need to take offense, lol bc you clearly have. Not eating as much meat, people should supplement vit B12, iodine, Vit D, and long chain fatty acids. Eating meat every meal is not a necessity for good health, that's my general point.
I agree that there is no need to eat meat with every meal. But beans and soy? There was no offense taken. You read me wrong. But you know, there are many in the medical field who know zero about nutrition. In fact, there are many nutritionists who truly don't know much cos they're still going by the old biased information.
