Many people use caffeine for workouts. Studies show that caffeine can give you a jolt of energy and help with performance in certain events. So the question is whether caffeine is good for runners? As we all know...it depends. The type of run will warrant whether caffeine will be helpful or harmful. Just think about it...is it a good idea to take a substance that increases heart rate when trying to keep heart rate in a certain zone on a run? When doing MAF Method or trying to maintain Zone 2 running, you might find that caffeine will be detrimental for the run. But caffeine and performance in faster running is a different story.
