L3GITxH3RO its only logical why they are throwing this many grenades, Hitler gave the order to save as much grenades as possible by the wehrmacht, because the gunpowder could be used to make artillery shells and tank shells, later, when the Russians invaded, tanks and artillery were no use anymore so Hitler ordered to use as many grenades as needed. So when the German warmachine started to run out of ammo they started using their grenades, this is why they are using so many Grenades. The game developers only tried to make a realistic game P.S. I am dutch so if there is anything wrong with the grammar im sorry. I hope you understand now why they are using this many grenades, Greetings from Holland
@@khryzlovendinobalictar3972 how bout the fact that they grenade spam every second. They shoot at you and hit you from impossible distances with 100 percent accuracy. And that you have to go through they whole thing while your team is a mile behind you. Plus you gotta rush the enemy to get them to stop respawning so much
@@khryzlovendinobalictar3972 1. g r e n a d e s p a m 2. enemies kill you in 2-3 shots 3. you have to rush through the level to stop the enemies from respawning 4. your team is absolutely useless 5. no matter what, enemies always target you and not your allies this makes waw and mw1 (they have the same bot ai) hardest cod games to beat on veteran diff
Grenade rain! Some stay in one piece and others feel the pain Grenade Rain! A piece of metal will explode before the sin Grenade rain! The schools say its illegal and can't be here at all Grenade rain! The battles make you wonder where it went Grenade rain!
I made a counter strike version Grenade Strike: Global Explosion Call of Grenade: Modern Grenade Call of Grenade: Black Grenade/Grenade Ops Call of Grenade: Grenades Call Of Grenade: The Big Grenade Explosion
Little did the Red army know that the Reichstag had been repurposed as a grenade factory the day before... Its been so long since I played this game and I still instantly recognize the sound effect of a grenade landing right next to you the memory as clear as if it were just yesterday I played through this level.
More like unmitigated rage for everything and everyone. I was raging against the germans raging against my worthless allies, raging against the map, raging against the grenades and every miserable little bit of bad luck or poor reaction time I had. That was a very angry time of my life.
Well, the allies and tanks need to be worthless, or the game wodl be boring for the player. A good game were you can sit back and let the A.I play for you its ArmA series or Operation FLashpoint, in this games the AI can do everythign and you are lucky if you kill 5 or 6 enemy soldiers xD
Reznov despised Chernov's feelings of sympathy and mercy for the Germans, and he said that no one will ever read the diary because it will just end up lying on the ground and be torn apart in battle. But in the last part of the mission before you enter the Reichstag, Chernov was burned by the German Flamethrower, Reznov had feelings of sympathy towards his burned and dying friend Chernov, so someone should read the diary, and that someone would have been him, Reznov.
pacnick11 Well i actually finished Big Red One in his hardest mode and yes, the few checkpoints, the "you need medkits to heal" mechanic and its luck based make some levels really frustrating, but WaW still has the honor of being the hardest CoD i've ever played.
Al-Barr Khan I play on veteran not just for the trophies but for a challenge, I dont know if you play b03 yet but you can die really quickly even if you are play on one of the lowest difficulties. Point being, there is no challenge in a game for ME if its to easy, I'm sure a few other people feel the same way.
CoD 4 is a cakewalk on Veteran. I did that Mile High Club thing for the fuck of it before playing any of the rest of the game on Veteran and couldn't have been more "seriously?" afterwards. Should not be considered "one of the hardest achievements" ever. *Said as someone who's done 7 Day Survivor without a guide.*
Date of 'Eviction': April 24 Date of 'Heart of the Reich': April 30 It took six days for Reznov to pull Dimitri out of the flooded metro. Apparently, Dimitri was also in a coma for that long as well
"Eviction" also really plays up the actual effect of the Germans flooding the metro. In reality it wasn't as exciting. It wasn't quite a wall of water, more a serious of opened valves or burst pipes that slowly filled the metro with water. How much water, you ask? Around 2 feet deep in total. But that wouldn't be nearly as dramatic haha
I am having vivid 'Nade PTSD kicking in, right now... I can remember those faint 'clunk clunk clunk' sounds of grenades landing near me, as clear as day. And the running... Oh the running... I can remember running the Reichstag marathon while being chased by those exploding things, AND being turned into swiss cheese by Nazi NPCs with freaking auto aim... After a while, I could swear that every nazi at the Reichstag that day was a golden medal Olympic Javeling thrower, judging by the accuracy of the nades they threw over steep cover I was hiding behind. And the worst part was that near the end of the mission, you had to advance towards the grenade spam (for checkpoints), because the game would otherwise keep spamming olympic track and field nazi athlete soldiers... I am still wondering how the fuck I ever managed to complete this work of inhumane insanity! God, I need a drink now...
Still isn’t as hard as Halo 2 on legendary... Good God I remember the level “Outskirts” on legendary I vividly remember the sound of a beam rifle firing and master chiefs death scream Edit: also afterwards me screaming “FUCK” and throwing my controller across the room
@@spade3779 First, you have no crosshair, doesn't seem bad, then we get to the fact that trying to take cover is like trying to input a Shoryuken with one hand, the enemies can take *FOUR SHOTS TO THE HEAD* without dying. Oh yeah, and your teammates can't kill for shit and you die in a few hits, and even if you're lucky, you take forever to heal. and your aim is wonky at best.
I love how in veteran you need to go from one piece of cover to another, yet you need to rush enemies to progress. Oh and that the health takes so long to regenerate that a grenade factory spawns on top of you. Also my team mates with PPSHs are basically ammo resupplies in this mission.
this game is the soul reason why I love cod. They actually showed how Terrible and horrible the war was. It also showed how sad brutal, and awful this war was. This was also the golden age back when stupid quickscopers didn't exist.
+ilikepie I got into call of duty when 4 came out. But when I heard this was going to be a WW2 era I thought why again, there are already too many WW2 games. Then I heard it got good reviews so I got it for my bday at that time when it was new. I pretty much like the game better than MW's. More bloody and soundtrack was awesome, just hate veteran mode. Not to mention the birth of zombies mode.
@@Balls1335 I completed this level on Veteran within about 15 minutes, I didnt spend most of that time hiding and camping either. I killed the 88 protectors with grenades and destroyed the 88's then ran around and killed the enemies (Didnt even use the high ground).
6:00 gave me shivers. The music, the screaming, the massive amounts of grenades and the final hours of the massive nazi war machine being demolished with the few German soldiers still fighting for their lives like cornered rats. It shows how brutal the war was even if it’s not totally historically accurate for the sake of being entertaining
I just finished the game on Veteran. I'm not gonna lie, I hate World at War a little bit right now. Was stuck on this mission for about 3 hours. Such a hard game on Veteran.
Yes, it's horrible. After I destroyed the first 2 and got the checkpoint I decided to rush through when possible. It was a bit easier that way as the enemies kept coming into the house I was hiding and I could kill them easily. Still very tough mission.
Do you know what the worst part is? You would have to listen to Reznov's one minute long speech EVERY TIME YOU DIED AT THAT PART. Why couldn't Treyarch have put the checkpoint after his speech? That's like having a two minute long loading screen.
I hope they remastered this game and make an achievement for completing this on veteran mode called “Grenade factory” or surviving this mode without dying called “Run and gun”
that's too "easy" to be Veteran mode... i'm in that level right now, and it's impossible, they throw grenades from everywhere and you don't have a safe place for cover or reload because they shoot from little holes behind the boxes...
Don't believe it's on veteran mode as I've clocked most call of duties on veteran mode including cod world at War multiple times though , gotta admit : it was extremely hard As for this particular stage : I sometimes cheat and just nick the friendly soldiers weapons along with the enemy soldiers weapons to have plenty of supplies plus ammo
Other good options are available to stay nearby the boss, Sargeant reznov. He will help you a lot more than expected especially in the beginning of the level when he calls you back behind the barrier though, taking down the second set of enemy flak cannons on veteran mode is simply a total nightmares on veteran mode but, is often playable as I've clocked the call of duty world at War roughly 10 times since it came out though, gotta admit : it was extremely hard especially on veteran mode
I agree, you truely get a little taste of what war is like more or less, saving the distance... of course not because of the grenades, that is pretty unrealistic indeed lol but you get me, taking enemy positions that you pretty much have to run towards to uncovered... shit and that's in the Russian missions, if you go to the japenese campaign shit gets too real with those ghillied fuckers jumping outta nowhere ambushing you constantly from a highground... This game is awesome.
The enemy soldiers not only notice my soldier easily Notice the player - the enemies notice too easily on veteran mode plus the aim of the enemy soldiers is basically too good for their own boots
This game has the best detailing of any Call of Duty game hands down. If you've seen the German bodies hanging from the power lines, they also have the plaques indicating they were hung by other germans. "Deserteur" and stuff like that. Treyarch did an excellent job with this game. I just wish they had as much passion for others
I truly believe that every other round shot by the enemy was a grenade regardless of which weapon they were using. This level was an absolute nightmare but man once you finished it, it was glorious!
Possibly though, nothing else ever bests the original call Of duty mile high club. It's literally impossible mission. I still haven't beat that stage on veteran mode to this day. My highest ever score on arcade mode was just under 40 000 points
My picks for hardest base game trophies: MWR: Mile high club WAW: for the motherland MW2: Star 69 BO1: sacrificial lamb MW3: overachiever BO2: giant accomplishment Ghosts: they look like ants AW: flip flop BO3: personal decorator IW: I love the 80’s WW2: pressure cooker BO4: blackout historian MW (2019): golden path Update- MW2R: The student surpasses the master
If it only required to be done on veteran; giant accomplishment should be replaced with good karma as that would mean doing all 4 strike force missions (excluding second chance) right in one go. Otherwise i agree
5:51 and on, what a pure rush of adrenaline. Even to this day the music and charge with all your men about to take down the final Reich. Something about it man, nothing compares to this.
When I first play this level on veteran I was cursing up a storm. Never have I seen enemies responding and the grenades... god damn grenades. Took me hours to beat this level but I was happy. It was past my sleep time but I decide to hell with it and go finish up the last level, it made me very happy to finish the game on veteran and achieve my first Platinum trophy.
I'll never forget beating this game this level especially on veteran. I jumped up and down and cheered my dad came rushing in thought I had lost my mind!!! He was confused but seeing me so overjoyed for some reason he started cheering with me. He knew how much these games meant to me. . He is gone now but I'll never forget that moment ever!!! This game was truly heart-rending on veteran and to have the achievement solo is something I'll never forget!!! It looks good on CPU I did it on the 360.
u never truly felt what a nightmare is when u woke up the next morning full of joy only to witness the absurd playthrough of this mission u thought it was the final...
I've completed this game on veteran when I was 13 years old. I tried to complete the game again on veteran 10 years later due to my new gaming console and the feel for nostalgia and I've got to say, this game is the reason why I'm so great in shooting games.
I played this game on veteran only once, and man, this mission... I remember I spent like 2 hours or so dying and respawning at the moment of the charge. This is one of the most frustrating missions I've ever played, and at the end I felt like an actual veteran.
The only way i beat this was luck and checkpoints. The grenade spamming was all the time. Bobbing and weaving 10 grenades wasn't fun at all and sometimes they pop out of nowhere and then you die. I did became a lot smarter and stronger on multiplayer by just beating this game on veterans.
I cheated . Not using cheat codes for hacking. I took out the friendly private soldiers so could Nick their pph weapons. It's a very serious good tactics.
Is bullshit. Ive completed several CoD games on Veteran and this mission took like a month on regular! Im temped to not even attempt this mission because I know ill just cry myself to sleep every time I try it.
There's a really good spot where u can snipe at the final stairs. Between the left and right building (where u get the sniper) there is a spot with sandbags. It gives you a clear view of the action and you don't get killed. Bullets don't hit u. Keep killing and the AI will move up. You have to move up when Reznov says Cone with me. The rest is simple.
This mission is the reason I never tried to beat WaW on Veteran. I’ve beaten the entire modern warfare trilogy and the original black ops but for the life of me, this game scares me
He’s just got insane patience , I hate having to play slow and camp just to stay alive , veteran mode was never designed for this bullshit. All they did was increase the amount of grenades the enemies throw at you and Reduce your health. That’s lazy asf, it’s not even fun to play because it’s ridiculous how many grenades get thrown at you. You could say that veteran is all about playing extremely carefully by taking cover at every opportunity. But this fucking mission is next level …the grenade spam defeats the purpose completely as you can’t even take cover without them being aimbotted straight onto you, and then when you try run away the NPC soldiers aimbot you anyway so what’s the point? It’s genuinely just a shit design tbh that’s the only reason it’s hard , because it’s poorly designed .
Not to mention the fact that they infinitely respawn which is a pet peeve of mine in cod games . That’s lazy asf too. Your “team mates” don’t even help whatsoever , at one point in this mission there’s around 7 friendly tanks surrounding you , yet you still get killed by German infantry pushing you with MP-40’s that are somehow getting pass 7 tanks ? Pathetic . Even if you try throw grenades back at the infantry , they fucking pick them back up and throw them back at you anyway lmao I’ve watched them do it …Can’t believe nothing got changed with veteran mode in 15 years of this games life .
You got some great reaction speed and aim. I envy you. On a side note, the fact that it only took 50 years worth of armed conflict since the fascist surrender (first wars of Iraq and Afghanistan, Vietnam, Grenada, and Panama) and potential armed conflict (against Soviet Union) to develop modern armaments like the M4A1, the M203, the F22 Raptor, the M1 Abrams, and other iconic examples of American military might disturbingly shows us how much more we are productive at war than at peace.
I first played WaW on the midnight release when I was 13. I played on veteran and completed every mission bar the last 2. I ended up going back through on regular due to absolute loss of sanity. I left veteran in the past and tried to regain some sanity. Now, 15 years later, on January 10th 2024 as I approach my 29th birthday…. I have completed the whole damned game on veteran. Jesus.
I know this video is very old (by RU-vid standards at least) but this level gave me genuine Post-Traumatic Gamer Syndrome especially with all of the grenades that kept landing all around me. I counted as many as eight, yes, EIGHT grenade indicators all around me before I got blown up! I swear, I had no idea that the Reichstag was the world's ultimate grenade factory! I swear, not even Costco (borrowing from Roosterteeth's rant on an earlier level on this) with the ultimate grenade blowout sale could yield this many grenades! When I beat this level and the Red Army charged into the Reichstag (in the game), I literally felt a huge amount of excess blood pressure and adrenaline leave my body almost overnight. One of the proudest gaming moments in my life (at the time).
Fuck Chernov, he always kept on blocking my cover and got me killed so many times because he trapped me in a corner just as the enemy threw 3 grenades at me...
Oh I remember this on ps3, soooo many times I pushed forward just hoping to see that notification - Checkpoint reached. Infinite enemy spawn, infinite granade spam...this was pure hell, sound of granades dropping around you...great feeling when you finally reach the end of it.
Naw, you should read about how many losses on both sides for this one battle took. This one battle brought out all the little fanatic Nazis, and bloodthirsty vengeful Soviets together for one big ass gore fest
@@user-ri6kp9md4cRead about the Battle of Berlin, it was insane. A bloodbath in just one single battle. Before the Soviets sent infantry they encircled the city snd had a 30 mile long artillery/rocket line and the first 30 minute opening salvo they fired over 500,000 rounds and rockets of artillery
I remember the first time i destroyed the second last cannon.... Then immediately ran backwards while my troops ran forward. After all these years, greatest video game accomplishment.
-Reznov "You should be fighting the war not writing about it. No one will ever read this" (As soon as he dies) Reznov -Someone should read this. LMAO this video is old nobody will ever see this comment so😢
This mission has some of the best music from the game. That is why I love it, even though Veteran is a sick and twisted torture method. It's like a Love/Hate relationship.
I remember this level being a huge pain in the ass, even on medium difficulty! Grenades where a hell! Just when you thought you avoided a grenade, somehow you stepped on another one!
