Loved the clip of the CANOE TV commercial from the 80s, that brought back a lot of memories from when I was a kid. I remember the part when they spelled out the letters, C - A - N - O - etc.... smart & sexy advertising for its time.

To give my age away, I used Canoe back in the 1960's, along with Brut, English Leather and Aramis. I'll be 70 in April.

Great shave Ken. Yeah my skin won't let me use hardly anything but the new Gillette Fusion proshield & proglides and I do have a 1970's vintage track 2 plus. There's one razor called the leaf razor that I'm looking at that functions like a mach 3 but uses DE blades split in half.

Even though I wasn’t around for the classic colognes, you got me hooked on buying several now off ebay. Not too bad of scents even compared to some of the modern stuff in my opinion!

I use my Parker variant on 5, my son have even used it on 5 + 5, so you have a sensitive scin to. I like your video's.

He too would go to the clubs and get all kinds of ass. I should have used some, but then again I hate nightclubs.To me, a nightclub is a bunch of people sweating in nice clothes. The the tres flores water base pomade, it’s cheaper and a better product in my opinion than suavecito I believe it’s cheaper and it comes with a lot more. Very classic old school scent but it’s pretty light

Great shave. With cartridge razors, I typically avoid the lower neck area when shaving just to avoid ingrown hairs and irritation. I just leave the neck area around the Adam's apple alone when shaving with cartridge razors. So yeah, rather than shaving the hairs on that area, I trim the hairs there with a small trimmer and that works effectively to get them down. Switching to safety razors will change all that for me. Even after decades, the Canoe aftershave still gets rave reviews. I forgot to say that about the date code for the Atra Plus razor, the date code N2 would also stand for the 2nd quarter of 2018 besides 1968 and 1993 as it's been 25 years since the Atra Plus model was manufactured

Been watching the odd vid over the last couple years and finally got around to subscribing. I really like your themed shaves. Watching an older one for Moonraker you mentioned your English skin. I nearly fell off the couch laughing, I’ve never heard anyone sound less British, did you loose your voice when you had your tonsils removed? 😆

You mentioned the Parker Variant gave you a bunch of weepers. I've had the same problem every time I use the Variant. That's why I stopped using it and sold mine. I admit to having sensitive skin but I shaved with a progress all the time without issues. So I won't use a Variant. I realize there are people who love the Variant. Great as long as it works for them. It just doesn't work for me. I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. BTW if I ever use a cartridge razor then it's an Atra.

I never heard of this brand before until I seen a interview with a hitman. He said that he used the Cologne under his nose so he could not smell the other corpses. The interviewer said that he dated himself by mentioning "Canoe" they both had a chuckle. :/ The funny thing is now I'm curious of the scent. Even a hitman can be a good PR man. ;)

Checked out canoe on eBay UK, not cheap I can tell you, it's got to the point, I have now started making homemade aftershave, but the downside I have found, I use vodka for the base alcohol, and I drink most of it before I get a chance to use it lol, just picked up 3 bottles of Denim for £9 a great deal I think, anyway all the best bud.

A short time ago I wrote and commented on the after shaves on the shelves behind you. I told you how it was reminiscent of my dad's medicine cabinet. Then I told you the only thing missing was Canoe. You said that you remembered Canoe and would try to pick some up, maybe on Ebay. So now you have and made a video about it without giving me a mention. That soap is thick because you didn't add any water to your paste in the brush. You really just plastered it on and went on it with that razor.

Watching these videos just reminds me of how long it's been since I've worn a shirt while shaving. Actually, I don't think i ever have! I also haven't been in a movie theater in well over a decade and I'm a film/TV/music trivia buff. Besides the insane price for a ticket, a drink and a horse bucket of popcorn, I'm not into action films and that's mostly what Hollywood seems to issue these days. I still use my 1980's Atra silver metal razor for back and shoulder shaving with this: www.razorba.com/i/razorba-classic-goat-large.jpg For some razor the Atra is the best for it. As far as Canoe goes, Dana in the USA definitely weakened the formula. *Whoever said @ **1:42** that it was similar to Old Spice and Stetson needs their nostrils examined! To my shnoz, it's very similar to orIginal Clubman.* If you note the writing on the box, you'll see it states that the fragrance oils are made in the USA and mixed and bottles in China! I can't imagine how the changes in environmental conditions can help the mixture while traveling back and forth on freighters being the USA and China (and back)! I always enjoy the history of the fragrances along with the number of companies that have owned it since inception. I picked up the 240 ml (8 oz) botle for $7 and a 2 oz. cologne/aftershave gift set for $5 at a local discount store. PS - Put Grey Flannel on a tissue and let it sit for about two hours. Then ask your wife to smell it and see if she feels the same way about Grey Flannel It drys down beautifully.

One reason I am against cartridge shaving is the plastic, the tons of crap unloaded back into our earth is huge. People who have sensitive skins that’s fine because it probably represents a small percentage of shavers. Everyone else should consider classic wet shaving. My Lord L6 with a Personna blade has less impact on my face that any cartridge I’ve ever used. Two mild passes with an L6 you’re good to, and I have tough facial hair. Electric razors are another option, yeah I hate them but you can get a shave well enough for the office. Think of the money you’d save per year if you purchased a Lord 6 for $12 and you used a new blue Personna blade everyday. Compare that cost to the cost of cartridge shaving over a year, you’re saying a lot of money plus you’re protecting our organic home.

why tf is this in my recommended? imagine being a fanatic for part of a daily routine. wonder if there are people talking about brushing their friggin teeth or even shitting on youtube..
