Opie making any type of living off of broadcasting is one of the greatest mysteries of all time.

Anthony's summary of his anxiety at 2:21:41 is so accurate and insightful. I listen to this segment every now and then when I'm not feeling too good and it helps put things in perspective.

Gotta give it to Ant. He became exactly what he was meant to do considering his background, capacity, and wit. He benefitted in the long run, and thankfully so did we.

As Ari Shaffir has said in many different podcasts, no one can match Anthony's storytelling prowess. Peak Ant was radio genius.

No sarcasm here- these childhood stories are really important for understanding the guys and their humor. If their critics knew the kind of physical and emotional abuse and neglect Anthony experienced, they might understand him a little better. But no, heaven forbid any of the O&A bashers make an attempt to humanize or understand. It's more fun to just hate blindly, isn't it? Jeez. I'm with you O&A, 100%.

As a 36 year old child of a broken home with 2 parents that didn't want or love me this is funny, true, and is also bringing up a lot of fucked up memories. The worst thing now I guess is neither one of them ever calls me. Ever. I conducted an experiment last year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Normally I call them to arrange for my wife and daughter to see them on the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas flew by without so much as a text message. I called them on New Year's Eve and they were like "We thought you were busy".

I know going through this type of childhood shaped Anthony into the person we listen to everyday, but he had a really fucked up childhood. That type of mental and physical abuse really had an effect on him. He's mad. I'm happy he found a positive outlet...a crazy, but funny and brilliant guy that has millions of people enjoying his comedy.

Anthony's story of overcoming his stress condition is incredible to me, because we know he cannot stand therapy and will not go to it, and that this shit occurred before you could just google everything, but he figured out on his own how to deal with it. Ask any psychologist and they will tell you that the proper response to a panic attack is to give in. I had a similar response, but it was after finding out that the proper way to deal with it was to give in. Being that I had a pretty severe case of it, I thought that when i was reading that and hearing it from people, it was really the devil trying to force me to submit by convincing me that bowing to his power would heal me. I eventually found power over the attacks by welcoming them as a challenge. Instead of letting fear take me when I found that state to come to a head, I would stand up and tell it to show itself so we could have a proper fight, and it would subside. I got to the point that I sort of welcomed them, and when I began to feel that unrelenting force I explored it, and tried to learn from it. Ant observed something here that i think is quite important, which is that he had to learn a lesson from it. I think that anxiety disorders are becoming more common because the human mind is trying to awaken something inside these people. For Anthony It was about being in charge of his life, For me it was about being able to face what I didnt know, and for thousands of SJWs its about something they will never discover because they insist in being victims, even if they are the very people victimizing themselves.

I'm glad I stumbled upon O&A after the sex for sam thing because its their conversations that I'm into more than the stunts. 10 Minutes into this video and im loving it. When Louis and Burr were frequent guests is my personal "golden era" of radio.

Man, as funny as listening to Ant’s early stories is, it’s pretty hard hitting. Quite the youth he had when I consider my own relatively normal upbringing.

God I just can't imagine the show with just Opie and Jimmy. Anthony was the all round versatile performer of the show. Voices, quick on his feet, great timing, almost total recall of tv, movies and music spanning decades, and an ability to talk intelligently about issues of the day. While I am not an opie hater he simply isn't "the funny one" and never will be. He is more of a conductor, keeping the show on track. And even though Jimmy is funny, his humor is more to compliment the show rather than carry it. I just don't think he can sustain 4 hours a day, week after week and remain interesting on his own. I loved the show but cringe when I think about what a train wreck the O&J show could be.

Damn if Ant made it through high school, and went to college in Wisconsin or Nebraska, far away from his parent's bad influence, he would have been a totally different person. He still made something of himself and gave us two decades of great laughs, but I can't help thinking about how he could have been a great engineer.

Ah jeez, this is making me remember the insane shit I dealt with growing up. It also makes me realize that, somehow, living on my own for the last six years is the most stable my life has ever been. I think, also, now that I'm on my own, I've lived in one place longer than any place during my childhood. Thanks, Mom and Dad!
