Your lather skills ha developed a bit the last three years, Cris! Fun to be watching old videos. These days you have the most awesome lathers on RU-vid, that I have seen.
where the brush comes out of the handle (across) is called the knot, from the handle to the tips is called (the loft).make sure you soak the brush in warm to hot water,(not boiling water) for about 10 -15 minutes and bloom the soap for about the same time, just to soften the top of the soap and make it easier to lather.
Col. Conk lime is a nice soap, it lathers very well. I'm just partial to tallow base soap. I just melted the Col. Conk and put some menthol in it, poured it into a bar soap mold. I now just it as a pre-shave
Whatever became of that brush? Did it stop shedding over the years? Nice soap review. I was gifted that soap, have not tried it yet. I was curious since it's a bargain, mass produced soap.
I have seen water helps with lathering. I'm getting the hang of it. The brush especially my boar I have seen if I don't let it sit n water long enough it's too stiff and hard. Then I also shampoo and put conditioner in my brush when I wash it clean. And also use a big comb to comb it out. But yes I also have a cheap boar hair brush. The hairs come out a lot and it frizzes and the hairs go all over the place. Also not shaped well and the hair is not uniform at all.
My new Semogue owners Club brush is very close to being the best brush in my den and is nowhere near being the most expensive. It's so funny watching these old blogs i have done and looking at how far i have come!
