if it doesn't work for you and when you right click on the volume thing on the screen, go to sound settings and go to the output audio pull down bar and hit the display option/your tv.

The Rolling back and updating part was what did the trick for me. Thank you so much man.

After enabling Show Disable and Show Disconnected, the hdmi option still didn't show up. HDMI cable is plugged in and I can see my computer. Just no sound.

thanks mate you just fixed my problem.I done the roll back and now my tv has sound again after it randomly stopped working one day!I was going mad because my tv worked fine for audio from ps3 or DTV and I was getting sick of wearing my headset for hours on end.

Thanks for this video. All I had to do was go into the sound settings and enable the HDMI output. Others advised using a separate speaker cable which is messy and probably doesn't sound as good as via the HDMI cable. Cheers

Wooooooow.... I've been to many videos telling people how to fix this problem, and all of them were CONFUSING, simply because I can admit I'm really not that smart. Lol...... But this Video was the most simple and easiest straight to the point instructions I came across, and yes, I FIXED THE PROBLEM!!! ......
