So basically a carmel machiato is actually a vanilla latte just caremel swirl added ontop, I used to work at starbucks ,so your actually paying more for it ,just get a vanilla latte add carmel it's much cheaper and basically the same thing
yes a macchiato and a latte are essentially the same thing, w the same ingredients. a latte is just mixed while a macchiato lets the espresso sit on top.
“macchiato” means “marked” in Italian. A traditional macchiato is an espresso shot with 1-2 teaspoons of milk foam added on top, “marking” the coffee with a little bit of dairy. A typical latte is steamed milk with some foam poured into a shot of espresso. Less foam is a flat white, more foam is a cappuccino. Then there’s a latte macchiato. Instead of the small drink where the small amount of milk marks the larger espresso, the latte macchiato is a smaller amount of espresso marking the larger amount of milk. Before stirring, it’s a mostly white surface with little whisps of espresso on top. This specifically is an iced caramel latte macchiato, not to be confused with a much smaller macchiato. Not this person’s fault, Starbucks just doesn’t label these things accurately.
For the caramel macchiato we add 4pumps of vanilla / milk / then two shots of espresso on top with the caramel drizzle on top. Hope this helps for anyone 🙂
For a venti right? I worked there 15 years ago and it was 2 pumps and a shot for a tall, 3 pumps and 2 shots for a grande and 4 pumps and 2 shots for a venti...? I think?
@@ChefChrisDay weve been doing 1,2,3 for espresso shots and syrup pumps were 3,4,6 for the tall grande and venti and for hot then its 3,4,5 . I just started like two and a half weeks ago so im still learning 😂
@@ChefChrisDayive been working at SB for almost 3yrs and i swear the caramel macchiato gets 3 pumps of vanilla for a grande… thats how ive been doing it
@@talhyia2990 I think it's 3 pumps, I feel like the caramel macchiatos were distinct and the other commenter was correct about the other drink specs. Or things have changed! 😂🤪 I'm outta the game for sure.
@@christmasjoy3887 Try lactase enzyme from iherb or pharmacy. It does the work for you digesting the lactose. One pill before your cup of coffee and no problems. It's just a supplement that enhances your body's ability to deal with lactose.
espresso drinks tend to be like this. For iced you can just add less milk For hot drinks if you want less milk then maybe you can enjoy a cortado or cappuccino
No, the difference between a latte and a macchiato is not in the amount of coffee (which is a shot of espresso in both of them btw), but in the amount of milk. A latte needs between 8-10oz of milk, whereas a macchiato needs only a dollop of milk (which makes sense if you think about it, since "macchiato" means "stained" in Italian, so imagin using enough milk so that your espresso coffee is stained with milk).
Coffee is expresso and expresso is coffee...just brewed at different water to coffee ratios.. expresso is coffee but just brewed at different water to coffee ratios and normally under pressure. But the comment regarding the instant is a good substitute... I find that Nestlé makes a good flavor smelling coffee. They have a hazelnut that is super good.. just experiment and google stuff. . Im now making my own Dalgonas ..yummy.. google Dalgona coffee videos.. its instant coffee..water. and sugar ..you froth it then pour it over ice and milk.. .. pour ice in your glass then drizzle caramel over ice then milk then pour your whipped coffee over that and give a gentle stir.. whipped coffee is the Dalgona part... just RU-vid videos on how to.... its fancy but super easy and so good ❤ 😉
Just eyeballing it should be good….she’s using a grande cup and you can see till which line she’s putting milk in. So two shots or tsp of vanilla syrup. Milk. Your coffee and drizzle of caramel on top or inside the cup.:)
@@annajane7860yes true true true...expresso is coffee but it's thicker and more intense because of the lower grounds to water ratio, the finer grind and pressurized brewing method. Expresso is just coffee brewed under pressure. If people would just take alittle time to educate themselves with the simple google method they would learn alot 😅😅😅.. my new favorite thing is a Dalgona. Instant coffee..water and sugar or sugar substitute..blend with a mixer or handheld frother...pour over ice then add milk of your choice or pour milk over ice the your whipped coffee and give a gentle stir ❤ im not a barista but the simple google method has made me a pretty good one. 😅❤..
then your drinks prob gonna be partly empty, ordering no ice doesnt change the measurements. if your trying to get your moneys worth make coffee at home lmao
I worked at Starbucks for a week to learn how to make all the drinks. It was worth it. I was going to stay longer than a week as originally planned but they wanted me to start on the week before we were moving out of our apartment and into our house. I told them that on the day we move I can’t work and they said no problem. Moving day arrives and my phone is blowing up at 4 am. It’s the shift supervisor demanding me to come in. I told her I couldn’t and I specifically asked for that day off and it was accepted and she said “that’s not my problem. You should have called someone to pick up your shift” lady im new I don’t even know everyone’s names yet let alone their #’s. I just ignored her and never went back. But by learning these drinks I’ve saved over $900 a year making coffee at home.
@@picklechews hmm if you ever have the time maybe you could type out recipes and stuff on your phone and post them onto a blog? ofc entirely up to you!
Espresso only takes up 2 oz due to how fine the grounds are but it still has the same worth as a cup of coffee. A grande has 16 oz, so you’d need to add a lot of milk
It's been a minute since I was a barista but the grande cups are 16 oz. The standard amount of milk goes to the top black line (I'm going to assume it's about 10 oz of milk since you need to leave room for ice and the espresso shot on top). You can play with it however you'd like to figure out what works best for you.
current barista-- for an iced grande, 3 pumps vanilla, milk to the top line, ice and 2 shots of signature espresso poured over top with caramel drizzle (6 lines each direction for a cross-hatch and then 2 circles around)
