For those wondering if you don’t get the splines right it will go off track when you turn to lock

Mine has a one washer with a bolt instead of a clip with two washers to hold the shaft in place. I think mine should hold the shaft in place better but I was missing the C clip on the sector gear, I can see a space between the sector gear but it is showing spline instead of a place to install a C clip.

aligning that sector can be aggrivating. The aftermarket sector I bought had the mark in the wrong spot. Count 22 teeth, divide by 2 and mark the center. That will help, I hope. Good video

Would be nice if there was a grease fitting on the support to keep it lubed. Also i Have a craftsman 2 and its steering box is different. No plastic T in it. Has a hard mount for the steering shaft gear and a Murry steering gear selector is what crossed according to #'s.. My steering gear selector has worn out on the shaft. Ordered another selector and hopefully it will work.

Mine did not have the c clips to take up the slack in between the gears and it slips.

I am trying to rebuild one just like that. Mine has a 🔩 in it no room for a socket or wrench... I am totally baffled. It's not a TORX

No point of make a problem out of things that aren't a problem at all! If you saw the video from the beginning you should have seen that he had to knock that e clip loose and then he ofcourse has to knock it back in again also. Using a pipe or a hammer makes no difference.
