DecoArt Colors are listed at the bottom:
I mix all of my paints with a 1:1 ratio of paint to Floetrol. I add water only if needed to get it to a consistency of honey pouring in a stream from my craft stick. I add a drop of silicone (treadmill lubricant) to each ounce of paint mixture, excluding white and black. I always seal my art after it has dried a minimum of 72 hours with multiple coats of High Gloss Varnish using a sponge brush. *Tip* I store my sponge brush in a sealed Ziploc between coats and do not rinse it so it does not deteriorate the sponge. This will store safely for at least a week.
Thank you for watching my videos regularly. It means the world to me. I have added a Paypal link below if you would like to donate to my art supplies which are very costly and will allow me to continue to experiment trying to make more beautiful art! Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel for many more future videos. All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated! Supporting my art helps me to create more beautiful art for you and everyone to enjoy. Art can get quite expensive to make! Thank You!

Hi Sandra, Love the Tulips. They are just gorgeous. I like the leaf swipes on this and the Sunflower. They are not mostly white but beautiful colors with white highlights. With your explanations in the detail you give I feel encouraged to try both pictures. I am just going to put these videos on and use a lot of pause time. hehehe I really love to sit in the evening and watch you paint. Big Thanks, lori

tulip leaves start at the ground, and the stems shoot up between the leaves.
@SandraLett
@SandraLett 5 лет назад
Thank you Kathleen... yes I know... I never try to ever make any of my fluid paintings totally realistic... I want them to be abstract and unexpected in some form or fashion. I just did a video that will be uploaded in a day or so... It was hydrangeas... and I know their leaves are quite large... yet I add wispy thin leaves as well.... the part I love about fluid art is just "letting go"... I have painted realistically for almost 20 years and it is nice to just let go and let it be whatever. Thank you for watching Kathleen

how long is the paint useable in the bottles? thank you
@SandraLett
@SandraLett 4 года назад
Indefinitely if they are sealed well. That's why I love my icing bottles from my Amazon link. They have screw on lids that are airtight. I have probably had some as long as 1 year. At some point, you may want to throw out and start with fresh, but it really is indefinitely

Hi,Do you have to take the oil and silicon of the painting before varnishing it?
@SandraLett
@SandraLett 6 лет назад
Thank you Dan! Yes... it has very little in it because of the smaller amounts I use from the squeeze bottles in a more controlled way... but after it is cured, you powder it down with something like corn starch to soak up residue. Then wipe down with damp cloth and Dawn dish liquid (degreasing) and then wipe down again to get all residue and soap off. Let it thoroughly dry and I apply at least 3 coats of Liquitex High Gloss Varnish with a sponge brush. I have a few videos where I show how I do that... It looks great and no issues from the silicone

Hi Sandra, can you please tell me whereI get the photo paper you wipe your left over paint on?
@SandraLett
@SandraLett 5 лет назад
It is just photo paper... you can get photo paper at any office supply store I would guess... or they have poster board that is made by Dry Eraser that has a coating on one side... You just cut the poster board up into many pieces to swipe your leftover paint on
@hntingisfun
@hntingisfun 5 лет назад
Also where can I get that straight thing you are using?
@SandraLett
@SandraLett 5 лет назад
Which straight thing? I am using a wooden skewer (like for cooking) and I have a plastic scraper from Lowes that is super cheap. Or are you talking about the pool trowel with the handle? if so here is the link on my Amazon recommendations. This link is below all of my videos www.amazon.com/dp/B001RJ1BHO/?ref=idea_lv_dp_ov_d

@SandraLett

The curve will not swipe it parallel.... you need to be parallel to the surface of the paint
