It is rather fascinating to be hearing and reading those words when you have those recurring tendencies. I would have thought those posts were incredibly disturbing and grotesque a few years ago, but, now, they don’t even feel harsh enough. The words are monotonous, or insignificant. It’s very similar to the saying: “In one ear, and out the other.” Just goes to show that people with eating disorders eventually become desensitized to it. Nothing can ever be brutal and demanding enough. Or, perhaps some individuals aren’t just doing it for control, and maybe a form of validation or perfection. Intriguing, honestly.

oh my god me too, this vid introduced me to ed tumblr which started my ed, and now it’s been four years

I was purposefully searching through the comments to try and find someone who had the same experience. This video is sort of a comfort video for me, as it is the only blatantly anorexic content on YT that isn’t hidden behind other names. It’s also somewhat nostalgic because of how long it’s been. But, I really don’t think it was appropriate of her to make this video, as it really was what introduced me, and many others, to anorexia. I can never go back. This is my life now.

Give an anorexic you know a hug today and tell them they're worth it and they're worth it enough to eat. Something that really helped me out was body positivity. I specifically remember a Dove commercial that had me break down crying. Because they had all these big beautiful women come in and show off their bodies. I remember crying because I realized I was doing the opposite. I figured I should just eat because regardless if I think I'm fat, someone on this planet will find me beautiful. For me tumblr was about how your only value as a gay person is an aesthetic to straight people. Look pretty for everyone else but you. It took way too long for me to realize the internal homophobia going on. There are two possibilities: 1. She had bulimia or anorexia before, and the pro-Ana Tumblr shit just really hit close to home. 2. She hasn’t dealt with any of that stuff, and it’s just that she was really irritated by this. Though I agree with you, she seemed more angry by this than anything else, and I think it’s because it’s glorifying a mental illness and an unhealthy way of thought.

In the video she said she's never dealt with any eating disorders that she knows of, and I doubt she'd lie about it. She always sounds just a tad emotional whenever mental health is brought up, but based off of other random facts she's mentioned about herself in other videos, I wouldn't be surprised if someone close to her dealt with an eating disorder (Which would also explain her knowledge on the topic, assuming she was trying to help them if that's the case)

(that's awesome!!) Our bodies know what we need. pain is there to stop us from doing stupid stuff, not to make our goals harder to reach.
